Thane finished reading finally, he knew it must be getting late by then. He always lost track of time when he was reading, aloud or silently. Time was another of the many things he forgot about but today he'd just enjoyed spending that time with Regina happy. He had no agenda, no motives.. he just enjoyed her company. And now knowing how she felt for him, via her diary of course, it made the time that much more special. Even if she didn't know how he felt. But they had time and he wasn't in any rush. Before all else they were friends and he valued that friendship the most. The rest... well the rest would be just icing on the cake. "I'm glad you enjoyed it. I did too. I enjoy reading to you, you're the only one who doesn't make fun of me for enjoying reading so much." Even among Ravenclaws, he was considered a book worm.

"I like the fact that you like to read. You're not scared to let people know that you enjoy it. Besides, I think I absorb more information when you read to me than when I read it alone the first time." Regina knew that people teased Thane for being a bookworm and she had defended him at least once when she heard people talking about it. "And thank you. I know where I can go when I can't sleep. Not that you're reading puts me to sleep or anything. It keeps me interested and I'm sure that if you ever read bedtime stories then I would more than likely go to sleep, because you change the pitch of your voice whenever you read. I imagine that it would be soft whenever you would read something like that." Regina realized that probably sounded dumb. She shook her head and her face warmed. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean for that to sound stupid. It sounded better in my head."

"You don't sound stupid to me, Gina. And thank you." He spoke softly but clear and honest. What she'd said made him feel special and she was one of the few who ever managed to say things that made him feel special despite his flaws.
"I would love to read you a bedtime story any time you can't sleep, I have never read one aloud but I would love to try. I wonder how fast you'd be asleep." He smiled.

Regina smiled. She had said things that she thought were dumb before, but Thane had reassured her that they weren't. He had always respected her, and made her feel different, like she wasn't a klutz or anything like that.
"I have a huge bedtime story book in my room. It's not huge size wise, but it's sorta thick in the number of pages. You can borrow it anytime you want. My mum bought it for me. It has a lot of the muggle bedtime stories in it." Out of her books, that book was probably her favorite. Cinderella, Snow White, and other stories were in the book. "How fast I fall asleep would probably depend on how you read it."

"How about I make you a deal. You bring me your muggle bedtime storybook and I'll read it to you tonight and see how long it takes before you're asleep?" He wondered what it would be like to have her there just sleeping near him, or what it would be like to read to her softly. The idea sounded good to him, any excuse to read to her sounded good. But just being able to be near her like that would make him happy. He wondered what she looked like asleep, he knew he'd just hold her while she slept until he managed to read himself to sleep too.

She thought about it for a moment. It would be nice, yet sort of strange sleeping near him. Regina couldn't say no to it, because it was harmless. This was Thane after all. Sure, she liked liked him, but they were also best friends. She gave him a smile. It wouldn't hurt.
"Alright. You have yourself a deal. Since we don't have classes tomorrow, I'll be there. I think that you'll enjoy those stories."

"Yeah you know my parents, they never let me near muggle books if they can help it. I haven't read any muggle bedtime stories before. I usually like to read Tales of Beedle the Bard at night but it would be nice to read something new." The idea was sounding better each moment and she hadn't said no.. that made him even happier. He wouldn't do anything of course, just read to her and watch her sleep... maybe even hold her and snuggle himself to sleep if she let him.

Regina would make sure she wore different pajamas rather than her tank top and shorts. She knew that she had pants somewhere in her trunk. "I've read Tales of Beedle the Bard over and over. Luckily my mum caved in and bought me the muggle ones. If you ever want to muggle stories, I might have a few more, somewhere." She gave him a smile. "My favorites have to be Snow White and Cinderella, although there are a few more that I like. I always like happy endings."

"I like happy endings too. I did read one muggle story once.. it was by some playwright author... Shakespeare I think... called Romeo and Juliet. The sad part was that it was such a mix of happy and sad ending." He preferred happy endings, of course, he wouldn't deny that. He wondered if one day Regina would find her happily ever after too.

"I don't think I've ever read that one," said Regina. "You'll have to tell that to me one day even though it has a sad ending. It sounds like it will be a great story." It didn't take a lot to make Regina happy. Material things didn't always make her happy. It was the little things like, taking the time to read aloud to her, spend time with her, or anything else like that. Right now, Regina was happy. She would be happier if things were right with Hallie, but for right now, things were alright with Thane. Regina would have to make up with Hallie soon, because she needed to tell someone about Thane. She couldn't keep it all to herself, and if she didn't find someone else to talk to soon, she would end up telling him how she felt without realizing it.

"Maybe I'll read that one the next time you visit me, but tonight I think your book sounds much better."
His favorite muggle story he'd ever read however was 'The Ugly Duckling'. He loved the fact that just because some awkward baby bird didn't look like all the other ducklings, didn't mean that the baby wasn't beautiful, especially if it had been around it's own kind. But instead turned into a beautiful swan that all the other ducks envied. It was funny, but it reminded him of Regina. She just was a young swan surrounded by ducks and didn't know her own potential yet. But Thane saw it. Thane knew she'd grow into a swan one day. To him she already was one.

"Alright," said Regina. "I'll hold you to that." She gave him a smile. That was one of the times that she looked forward to during school. Thane reading to her. There was just something special about it. In a way, Thane was her prince charming, but he wasn't going to know that for awhile.
"I'm looking forward to tonight. I'm sure that Gus will finally sleep in your room tonight," she said with amusement.

"Oh good point, Gus is a good foot warmer. I'll have the best of both worlds then won't I? I should probably leave him out on purpose, but .. who can pass up my own personal foot warmer while I read you a book?" He was sure that he must have done something right recently to know that tonight was going to be so much fun.

"Yes he is. I usually don't sleep with socks on because I know that Gus is always there. My feet tend to get cold at night." Gus was a good foot warmer and of course he was the sweetest cat she had ever met. She owed a lot to Gus. After all, it was he who caused Regina to meet Thane in the first place. If it wasn't for him, she didn't think she would have ever really talked to Thane like she was now.
"I think that we'll all have a nice night." Now, Regina just hoped that she didn't talk in her sleep.....

Thane realized that the librarian was starting to give them looks as she cleaned up for the night, it was obviously time for the library to close and he sighed. It wasn't the first time that he'd been here till closing time, so he knew that look.
"Want to go back to the tower? I think we're about to be kicked out of here by Mrs. Macrae."

Regina looked over to Mrs. Macrae, then to Thane and gave him a sheepish grin. "I suppose so. There's no where else to go at this time of night. I can go put my pajamas on and meet you back in your room and bring Gus with me, along with the book." Picking up her bag, she slowly stood up. Her leg felt weird because Thane's had been resting against hers for a while. She pushed her chair under, and turned to Thane. "Ready whenever you are Mr. Scotts."

Thane stood up as well and held out his hand so that he could offer to hold hers as they walked back to the Ravenclaw tower. The thought finally entered his mind that she would actually be wearing pajamas instead of uniform robes when they had their little book reading sleep over. It made him flush but he didn't say anything about that part. "Sounds good, I'm ready Gina." He grabbed his bag and left the troll book on the table forgotten. But since he hadn't checked it out, it didn't really matter. The librarian would put it away like normal.

Regina shyly took Thane's hand. She was getting used to holding it, even if they were friends. Friends held each other's hands, right? Adjusting the strap on her bag, she gave him a nod. She walked with him out of the library, not worrying about the book that was left on the table.
Walking back up to the tower, Regina flushed as she thought about they would both be in pajamas tonight. There was nothing bad about it or anything, but she hoped that she could find another t-shirt other than a tank top she usually slept in.
Regina answered the riddle at the portait this time and led him into the common room. "OK, I'll meet you in your room in fifteen minutes." She smiled and released his hand as she ran up to the girls' dorms.

Thane watched her go and grinned. The only thing that entered his mind at that moment was pride. She hadn't tripped once. He beamed and ran up to his dorm room to get ready for bed himself. He found a pair of sleep pants and a short sleeve grey muggle t-shirt. He didn't usually wear a shirt to bed but he didn't want to make Regina uncomfortable.

Walking into her room, Regina tripped. She looked down and saw a book near the door. What the heck? The next thing she noticed was Gus near her dresser. Regina picked herself up and walked over to her dresser. At least this time she actually tripped over something.
Quickly, she changed into pajama pants, and a black t-shirt that she luckily found. She looked into her bookshelf and picked up her muggle bedtime story book and then looked down to Gus. "Come on, we're going to see Thane tonight." Gus followed her out of her room and down the stairs, then back up stairs to Thane's room. Noticing the door shut, she knocked on the door.
