"Ooh! Could we go to the gardens?" Genevieve said hopefully, her face lighting up. "I haven't been there yet, and you know how I like to look at the flowers." She linked arms with him and laid her golden head against his shoulder. "It's a little chilly, but you'll keep me warm, won't you?"

Lance smiled at her and held her close for warmth, "Of course, I will. And I think the gardens sound good too. We should go see them before it gets too cold to enjoy it anyways." He lead her off into the direction of the gardens and then as they entered he asked softly, "what part of the gardens would you like to see first, Viv? I hear they have one of those fun little hedge mazes we could try, or the rose gardens or the butterfly house?"

Genevieve smiled and cozied up to him. "I love butterflies... but let's start with the rose garden and then we can go inside and see the butterflies," she said happily. He was so warm and strong, so for now, she just wanted to walk outside where she could enjoy the fresh ait and his arms around her.

"No hedge maze?" Lance asked her, walking easily with her. Viv wasn't exactly an outdoor girl, so he could see her not enjoying the hedgemaze so much. But the roses were beautiful, and there were rumored to be golden colored roses, and he couldn't help but think that they would match her hair.
"That's all right, your plan sounds perfect. Rose garden, then butterflies."

Genevieve giggled. "Oh, I'm sure I'd never find my way out of a hedge maze. I'd just keep wandering in circles and never figure out that I was going the same way every time. Of course, I'm sure you could do better than me... You could probably help me out. But it could take a while, and it's kind of cold... and I wouldn't want to leave Eve and Josh waiting too long."
She clung to his arm and leaned her head against his shoulder. "But maybe all four of us could do the hedge maze some other time when it's warmer. I'm sure with the three of you there, I won't get lost!"

((Ha ha, love Viv's avatar!))
Lance looked her over, shaking his head. "I'm a little offended, Viv," he said, feigning hurt. "Do you think I'd ever let you get lost? If you did, I'd be there."
Despite saying all of this, he was leading towards the butterfly garden, and he knew he would get as much amusement out of watching her as she would watching the butterflies. There was a childlike innocence in the way she was awed by certain things. He liked seeing it.

Genevieve leaned over and kissed his cheek. "I know you wouldn't," she said sweetly. But she also knew that he had as much of a tendency to get distracted as she did. She would start looking at something, and he would be looking at her, and suddenly, they would have no idea where they were going. "I just don't want to take too long, because I'm sure Eve and Josh are waiting for us."
She let out a happy sigh. "It's just nice to get away from the castle once in a while... and to be with you."

Lance smiled, and he felt a little blush on his cheeks. He shouldn't be this way around her, but he could almost pin point when the change took place... when he stopped seeing her like he saw Eve, and she became more than a friend to him, even if there was still a subtle and careful dance between them while they figured out what all of this meant.
He thought he would miss Eve more, that the change in group dynamics would bother him, but it really didn't.
"Yes... I suppose they are waiting for us, but I agree with you; this is nice sometimes."
