It's off to the Dressmaker We Go (Hufflepuffs)

[Josh Jordan]

A smile spread across his face. It seemed that a smile always was on his face around Eve, but he wasn't complaining. Josh surveyed the exploding snakes. Oh, that would be quite interesting to pull off on Lance to be sure.

He gave a little chuckle and gently squeeze Eve to him. "That's my girl," he said happy with her idea. Josh would be happy with anything Eve would think of. "That would be perfect for Lance. We could set it up in the common room if you wanted, so that you could see his reaction. It would be priceless, wouldn't you say?"

[Eve Mallory]

"Yes." she answered she knew it was all in good fun and Lance would probably laugh afterward. Besides she liked being called Josh's girl. She sidled near him, "Oh but we have to do it late at night or early in the morning...I think he'll think it's funny but I don't want anybody else to laugh at him." because she didn't want to embarrass him.

[Josh Jordan]

"Yeah, we wouldn't want people to laugh at him. We can do it in our room. You could come in there, because you know that you're always welcome. Then we can just set it off in there.That way, we're the only ones in there." He gave her a grin. "And it won't really be embarrassing for him. Plus, it will give us time to set it up while he's away with more than likely Genevieve."

Josh winked at her and picked up the exploding snake. He picked up another one, just in case. "I personally think that we're gonna have fun with this, don't you?"

[Eve Mallory]

"That sounds better." she nodded, then blushed when he talked about Lance being off with Genevieve, that was kind of strange but something everyone was accepting. She felt bad for Josh though...it only seemed natural that he might want to date Genevieve but she had chose Lance instead. So it was up to Eve to make Josh happy, not by filling Genevieve's shoes by any means, but by being a supportive friend...because friendship was the only thing anybody really wanted from her and she was okay with that. Maybe one day when she grew up a little more Josh'd notice her.

"Oh, I have fun whenever I do anything with you." she told him honestly.

He chuckled and looked down at her. The look in her eyes made Josh want to lean down and kiss her badly. He couldn't do it just yet. He had to hold off just a little longer. Josh had to see how Eve continued to react to his little hints. He only hoped that she picked up on them. He wouldn't know what to do if Eve didn't believe him when he finally did tell her that he liked her more than she thought he did.

"So if we went and jumped off into the Lake into freezing water, you'd still have fun," he asked with a teasing tone. "I'm just kidding. Although, I'm glad that you're with me Eva. I have a lot more fun this way, plus I enjoy hanging out with you." He wasn't sure why that came out, but it was alright that she did know that.

As long as you promised to keep me warm she thought, and then blushed afterward thankful she hadn't blurted that out. "Yes, you'd find a way to make it fun." she smiled avoiding his eyes, but when he looked at her the way he looked at her, well sometimes it as hard to make her heart beat regularly.

She smiled at his words and her arms found their way around his waist, " Ditto...to all of that."

Josh tightened his hold on her once again and walked to the counter to pay for the exploding snakes. "Of course I'd find some way to make it fun, but we'd have to invent some way to keep from freezing, which means that we could find another way to have fun while staying all nice and warm and inside." He gave another chuckle and took his bag into his hand that held his purchased item.

"And thanks Eva. You're a special girl, don't you forget that." Of course, Josh meant that in more ways than one. "I'm starting to get thirsty. What about you?"

[Eve Mallory]

She nodded, "Let's get something to eat too...I'm starving." she admitted, for a tiny girl she liked to eat. Of course she couldn't eat much. She took her customary hiding position against his side and prepared herself to brace the cold.

[Josh Jordan]

"Of course. We always have to have food! Food is my favorite, other than you of course." Josh gave her a playful grin. As she buried herself into him, he opened the door and the cold air greeted them. Luckily the Three Broomsticks wasn't too far from Zonko's.

Josh leaned his head towards Eve's as they walked. He walked over to the Three Broomsticks and walked in with Eve still buried underneath his coat. "Lets sit in a booth. That way, Lance and Genevieve can find us and we can be seated comfortable, plus you're keeping me warm and I don't want to lose my little heater."

[Eve Mallory]

She nodded agreeing with what he said, she would probably always agree with whatever he said, as long as he looked at her like that, or as long as he sounded the way he did. She wasn't his puppet by any means, but he was too dear to her for her to even have any thoughts towards objecting regardless of subject matter.

"I think we should walk like this all the time." she giggled still underneath his coat, they must have made quite a sight.

The way that Eve was underneath his coat, reminded him of a little kid with their parents, trying to keep warm. He didn't mind her being that way though. Both of them were warm, and he was near her, what objections could he have to that?

"We might just do that. It keeps me warm, and I'm sure that you're that way too." He slid into a booth, causing her to be on the outside of it. "Here we go," he said. The waitress appeared. "Two butterbeers please, and whatever Eva wants to eat, make that two of."

[Eve Mallory]

She laughed happily as he led the way. Yes it was a bit childish she thought, but as long as he didn't mind it was an excuse to be close to him she realized more than the cold even if she was honestly freezing.

Eve placed her order and it would just ho happen to be one of Josh's favorites. She knew him so well.

[Josh Jordan]

Josh looked to Eve and grinned. The waitress disappeared while his attention was to Eve. "So, Eva did you ever think more about what you wanted for Christmas, material wise? A frog? An owl, cat? A new stationary set? Something?" He wanted to get her something special, although he had already got her one thing, but he was going to get her more than one thing. He always did.

He slid a little closer to her and rested his arm on the table. "Just give me something to go on."

[Eve Mallory]

"Josh.." she groaned while leaning into him, but then she laughed, " You know you always get me the perfect gift, and honest I don't mean to make it hard on you but I don't really need anything for Christmas, except you, and Lance, and Viv, and for the memories Christmas will bring, I just want to enjoy it with you, I don't need a gift." she answered.

But what did she want? Well that kiss came to mind.

[Josh Jordan]

He sighed. "I'm going to find you something anyway." A michevous look crossed his eye and then the waitress had returned with their food and drink, however he wasn't hungry or thirsty at the moment. Josh was focused on Eve at the moment. A kiss would be the perfect Christmas gift. He would make sure to get her under the mistletoe. At the thought, his ears turned red.

He finally looked back to his food and took a drink from his butterbeer. "I think you'll like what I'm thinking about getting you."

She had stared at his eyes for just a little too long that she didn't hear what he said at first but when it did register she blushed, and shook her head, "You don't have to get me anything." she insisted but knew it was pointless. "But I'm sure I'll love whatever it is you give me."

"Of course I have to get you something Eve," replied Josh. "It's just something I do. I have to." He smiled at her. "I'm sure that you will like it, well, I hope you do." Josh loved giving Eve gifts because of the look on her face and he loved to see the smallest things make her happy.

He reached out and moved a strand of hair that had fallen into her face, and he started to lean forward. Josh didn't know what was coming over him, but he couldn't stop himself. He continued to lean forward, getting closer to Eve. His face reached to hers and he stopped for a moment. He looked directly into her warm eyes and then he was was close enough to feel her breath on him. Josh was fixing to close the small space between them.......

She had lowered her lashes causing the strand to fall,when he brushed it back she tilted her face up to see his. She had just been thinking that she didn't really deserve to have him take care of her like he did and she had to admit that she loved it, she loved him. It was that love foremost on her mind and apparent in her eyes when she looked into his, and perhaps it was her own imaginings or maybe this was really happening either way her heart was pounding Josh was so close she could practically taste their mingled breath and she knew without a doubt that one taste of him would leave her spinning for the rest of her life, if she could have...one ...taste.

[Genevieve Danforth]

(OOC: You guys sure you want us intruding on your moment?)

Genevieve giggled when Josh and Eve went off together. It was seeming more an more obvious that Josh really liked Eve, and Genevieve couldn't have been more happy about it. She had always been partial to Lance, and although she liked Josh, and knew he liked her, she had never really wanted to turn one brother down in favor of the other. But now nature was taking its course, and she and Lance had found themselves together, while Josh was moving closer to Eve. That was the way it should be, she told herself. Josh and Eve made a great couple.

"Well, Lancey," Genevieve said as the couple walked away, "what should we do?"

((oh our turn now? LOL.. hold that moment while we get caught up guys.))

"Ladies choice, Viv. I will take you anywhere you'd like to go today. I just want to make sure we meet up with Josh and Eve in an hour and not get too distracted for once. We can either do something fun like visit the observatory or the gardens.. or maybe go buy you a gift or something for the dance?" He was happy to have Genevieve alone finally, but he really didn't mind doing anything today as long as it made her happy. She looked really beautiful today and when she smiled like that he felt as if he would get lost in her forever. He had plans to buy her something later when the girls were getting their dresses but he wanted it to be a surprise.
