Thane really was a sweetheart. She was glad to have someone like him around who was willing to help even when she thought she couldn't really be.
"I don't even know where to start! There are so many things that need to be worked on. My hand-eye coordination is alright I guess." Regina watched as he appeared to be looking for something. Raising an eyebrow she looked at him curiously. "What are you looking for Thane? This," she asked holding up a book that was in between them.

Thane grinned boyishly.. "oh thanks, that's what I was looking for... okay stand up Regina.. we're going to make a princess out of you yet!" He took the book she handed at him then he stood up and pulled her onto her feet with his free hand. "Oh don't frown at me, just trust me." He gently placed the book on her head as she stood up.

She looked up at him as he said stand up. What in the world was he going to make her do? A princess? Regina was confused to say the least. However, Thane had pulled her to her feet before she even had the chance to stand up on her own. A frown appeared on her face. She didn't know if she was going to like this very much.
She didn't frown because she didn't trust him, it was just that she was clueless at what she was going to do. "Are you serious Thane? You want me to walk with a book on my head? What is that supposed to do," she asked as he put the book on top of her head. Regina made sure that she was standing perfectly still so the book wouldn't fall just yet.

"It's something I saw my mother do to my sister when she was taking etiquette lessons. She had to walk with poise or something, I was only half paying attention when they did it. But I have a theory!" He looked like a boy who had found a puppy, he was looking forward to trying to help her even if it was just walking and being able to test a theory.
"now you have to walk really slowly and pay attention to your feet without looking at them.. here i'll even help catch if you fall. But I think maybe your legs are long and feet larger than you think they are and they're just getting in the way.. I don't mean they are big but you are treating them like they are. You just need to relearn how to walk and balance that's all." it was a fine theory anyways.

Thane looked pretty excited about all this, so she couldn't let him down. Although she was probably going to fail. Poise? That was something she wasn't really good at. However, to keep him amused she continued to listen.
"It's not really the slow walking I'm worried about, it's the faster walking, but alright just to keep you amused," she said as she took a deep breath. Regina waited for a second and started to slowly walk. The book was wobbling on her head as she did so. She bit her bottom lip as she tried to concentrate as she walked. Walking slow she was good with and after several steps, she stopped with the book still on her head. "Slow walking is alright."

"Exactly! Because you are concentrating right and you're walking heal to toe first instead of toe to heal. Did you ever notice when you try walking faster you end up half on your toes?" He had noticed, he noticed because he enjoyed the sight of her. Speed, Balance, Coordination and Confidence. Those were the things she needed if she was ever going to overcome at least the falling part of her clumsiness. For now balance was the first step. He looked around again and found what he was looking for. "Okay follow me!" He took her hand and guided her to a log laying on the ground nearby that had washed onto the edge of the lake. It was large and sturdy and would work perfectly. "Now climb up and walk across this." He handed the book back to her as she climbed up. This time he held her hand so that if she did fall he could help steady and catch her.

She never paid attention as to how she walked when she walked faster. Regina didn't have a chance to answer because just as 'yes' was beginning to come out of her mouth, Thane grabbed her hand. She blushed and followed him without a word.
Her eyes widened as she saw the log that she was going to have to walk across. "You're book will fall off my head and into the lake!" Regina knew that Thane would never make her do anything that she couldn't do, but this time she wasn't sure if she could balance the book on her head across the log. "I tell you what. First time, I'll do it without the book, and then second time will be with it." She handed the book back to him with her free hand, but squeezed his hand subconsciously. "Don't let go."

Thane took the book back and dropped it to the ground, likely to be forgotten for the moment at least. But he held her hand tight and had his other hand near her back but not touching her. That way if she did fall, he'd be able to catch or steady her easier. "I would never let go of you." He smiled up at Regina not really realizing the supportive look was showing in his eyes unconsiously. He had a genuine desire to help her, and more than that he wanted to make sure she didn't get herself killed or injured durring the tasks. He was worried and knew that she needed to be able to at least walk without tripping if she was going to be successful in her tasks without getting hurt. Most of all, he wanted her safe.
"Okay now just take it one step at a time.. just remember heal first okay? I know you can do it and I'm right here if you loose your balance." He smiled encouragingly at her.

Maybe she was going to get through this without embarrassing herself. Her stomach did a flip when he smiled at her. She just told herself that it was nerves, although she wasn't sure what exactly it was.
Heal, toe, heal toe she kept telling herself. Regina started to take a step forward on the log, however she started to wobble, but regained herself before she fell. After the third step, Regina did lose her balance and fell over, knocking Thane down as well. She didn't realize that she landed on top of him until after a few moments of staring down at him. Regina quickly got up. "I'm sorry," she said as she got to her feet and offered him a hand up.

Thane had been feeling confident for her and when she fell he tried to catch her, and although he'd been unable to keep her on the log he'd managed to break her fall. She was laying ontop of him for a few long moments, to him they seemed longer than they actually were, but he didn't move as he waited for her to recover. He blushed a little right before she got up and offered her hand. "Thanks. Don't worry you can't expect to get it right the first time." He would help hold her the next time to keep her from falling though he'd not really minded when she did fall on him.

Regina's face was still red from falling on him, not that she really minded that though. She didn't let go of his hand as she climbed back up on the log. "I'll try better this time so you won't have to break my fall every time." She gave him a smile and then tried to focus on the task at hand.
It was great knowing that she had someone by her side, willing to catch her if she fell, both literally and figuratively. Regina took a step, and started to wobble again, but she regained herself once again and started to walk across slowly.

Thane kept one hand holding hers and the other on her back softly supporting her. He watched her face though as she walked, and he could tell she was concentrating on her feet this time. He almost willed her to keep her balance in support. Balance would be the first thing she needed. That way if she did fall, she was more likely to stumble and catch her balance rather than falling flat. Though, he had kind of liked when she fell on him... but he pushed the though away as he watched her closely... you can do it Regina, I have faith in you he thought silently.

Regina didn't pay to much attention to Thane's hand being on her back. She was focused on not falling again, although as long as he was right there, she didn't mind it to much. Focusing on getting across, everything around her faded, and she didn't realize that Thane was staring at her. If she had she probably would have lost her balance again.
Slowly she made it to the edge of the log and she turned her head to Thane with a smile. "Thanks," she said. "Now, I'm not sure that I can make it on my own, but it was fun. I don't think we should try the book either. I don't want to get you into trouble by losing a book in the lake."

"I have faith in you... and worst case I can always use a drying spell on it and it'll be good as new. Come on, no wiggling out of it.." Without waiting for any more arguements he picked up the book that was now at his feet and placed it gently on her head. "You can do it Regina." Luckily it was one of his old history books and he really didn't mind too much if something happened to it. He'd only just found it a few days ago by accident under his bed and had decided to finish it but he didn't mind anyways. He just wanted her to gain the confidence she needed for the tasks. He knew it wouldn't all be fixed in a day... but every little bit might make the difference when it came time for the first task. And he wanted to help her somehow.

Regina gave him a frown, but it wasn't going to work on Thane. He was too determined for her to try and get over her tripping over herself. At least one of us have faith in me she thought to herself. She didn't want to let him down, so she swallowed her fear of embarrassing herself and started walking slowly.
Once again, the book started to wobble on her head, but the difference was she was not so wobbly on the log. Regina had tightened her grip on Thane's hand, but not so tight that it would hurt him. The book started to fall, but she used her free hand to catch it. She wobbled for a moment on the log, but kept her balance. She sighed and placed it carefully back on her head before she finished walking across.

Thane grabbed her off the log in a big bear hug and swung her around after a hoot of excitement at her success. "haha! You did it!! I knew you could!!!" He was proud of her and didn't stop to think he just reacted to his own happiness for her. It was only a little step for the moment it was a huge leap as far as he was concerned. He swung her around a few times by the waist before setting her down softly on her feet on the ground. The book having fallen to the grass nearby unheeded, as he looked at her happily.

Regina was not expecting Thane to hug her, let alone grab her off the log. She took a sharp intake of breath as he swung her around. As he spun around, Regina started laughing. Her arms automatically went around his neck. If she was able to get hugs like this, maybe she could try harder more often. Regina quickly pushed those thoughts our of her mind. She shouldn't be thinking things like that.
As he stopped spinning her around and put her on the ground, her world was still spinning. Regina put her hands on his upper arms to steady herself as her world slowly stopped spinning.
"Thanks Thane," she said with a smile.

"You did all the work, Regina. I just stood by to catch you. But I'm proud of you. I know it was only a little bit, but ... it's a start. And we can keep trying a little each day and maybe by the time the task comes along... you can concentrate more on the task than walking." He smiled at her confidently and supportively. "Besides, you're gonna help me keep track of my stuff so it's the least I can to do try to help somehow, even if it isn't much." He blushed and looked at the ground then.

If Regina didn't feel like it would have been awkward, she would have given him a friendly kiss on the cheek. "You did a lot more than you give yourself credit for," she said. "I wouldn't have been able to this without you." She blushed deeply, but looked away as he looked at the ground to attempt to hide it.
She looked up and a smile found itself on her face. "I can't thank you enough Thane." She realized that her hands where still on his arms, but she realized that he didn't let go either. Regina wasn't going to say anything. She went on acting like she didn't noticed, and it quickly slipped her mind because her mind drifted else where. "We could try and set up your room where you'll be partically organized."

"I'd like that.. " He said softly, "but you know I'm bad at remembering stuff.. I might not remember to put things where they belong.. I just.. I get distracted when I'm putting things down." He didn't remove his hands either not having really remembered to take them away like he probably should have, but he was comfortable right where he was and didn't really feel awkward so it didn't occur to him to move away.
