Andi glared after him. A part of herself (the masochistic part, obviously) wanted to call him back, and to say she was sorry. But again, sorry for what? She wasn't sorry. Why should she be?
She didn't care about the money. She never had. She was working two jobs at once, after all. She was making money. She didn't need him. He'd never given her anything but grief.
But, dammit, he was her father. Why couldn't he have loved her, just a little bit? It was obvious to her that her only worth was in his eyes was making a good match. It felt so archaic, like something from Victorian times.
"Fine!" She shouted after him. "Good! I don't need you, anyway!"
Merlin, she sounded so childish. Why did he always make her feel that way? Like a spoiled little girl. "It doesn't matter, anyway!" she kept shouting. "I'm not going to marry the muggleborn, so your precious family name is safe! Maybe I'll even marry Rabastan Lestrange!"
Oh, hell... now what was she saying? She was just blurting stuff out without thinking. This was what happened when her father showed up after a night of drinking, before she'd even had her coffee. Feeling confused and desperate, she clung to Molly for support.

Molly looked at Andromeda strangely until the door was pulled wide open and two of her favorite people were revealed to her.
She opened her mouth immidiately after Bellatrix started on her, but Cygnus cut her off, and as full of fire as she was, the man still scared the hell out of her. She stepped to the side as he left, and turned prettily on her heel. "I thought the goal was to punish her? Not reward her!" Molly called after him into the hallway.
She spun on Bellatrix. "Get out! You heard Andromeda, you're not welcome here."
She said nothing about her declaration to marry Rabastan. Not yet... she would wait for Bellatrix to leave.

Bellatrix stared open-mouthed after her father. She knew it was a possibility that Andromeda would be disowned. No, more than a possibility, it was a likelihood. But still, actually hearing her father speak the words she was dumbfounded. It wasn't until Molly screamed at her to leave that she shut her mouth.
Bellatrix was now short a sister. And even if Andromeda made good on her claim that she would marry Rabastan, she would never again be able to speak with her. Even just to argue. How awkward would the Lestrange family reunions be? That really was the least of her worries at this point.
She stood frozen for a brief second then walked past Molly without a second glance. But she hesitated in front of Andromeda before shaking her head in disbelief and leaving too.

After Bella had gone, Andi let out a whimper and buried her face in Molly's shoulder. "Oh, Molly, thank Merlin... You keep saving me. I don't even know how to fight anymore... it's like I've got nothing left. I don't even know what I'm talking about half the time... They just blindsided me, and came over before I even had any coffee or headache potion..."

Alastor strolled down the streets of Hogsmeade a crumpled page from the Daily Prophet rested in his hand and he looked around for the apartments. Seeing his destination he stopped in his tracks as Cygnus Black walked out of the complex and down the street, followed a few moments later by Bellatrix Black, Moody entered the building when she had disappeared from sight.
Approaching the door that belonged to Andromeda's apartment he knocked on the door. "Andromeda Black, Its Alastor Moody!"

Molly hugged her friend back. "It's all right. I'm here, and I'll fight for you."
She was about to offer to make Andromeda a pot of coffee when there was another knock on the door. This poor girl...
"Should I let him in, Andi?" She asked, appointing herself as Andromeda's new protector.

"Thanks, Molly," Andi said softly.
She literally jumped at yet another knock on the door. "Should I just install a revolving door?" she grumbled. The voice on the other side surprised her... she barely knew Alastor Moody and couldn't think why he'd come to see her. "Whatever, let him in, Mols. It's not like my day can get any worse."

"If he starts in on you, too, he's going to get a rude awakening from me," Molly promised. She gave Andromeda a gentle hug before leaving her to open the door again.
She glanced at Moody, her eyes begging him to please be nice, and she opened the door wide enough for him to come in.

Alastor saw Molly open the door and flashed a quick smile as he entered the apartment. "Good to see you Miss Prewett, I trust your brothers are doing well?" Moody began to pace around the walls of the room seeming to look for something only he could see. As his odd walk around the apartment came to an end he stood before Andromeda and dropped the crumpled page at her feet. "What's the plan girlie? Us Auror's have to stick together against this trash."

Andi was confused momentarily; she was already getting used to people yelling at her and making her feel like a fool. So Moody's sympathetic--almost conspiratorial--tone caught her off guard. "Plan?" she said in a weary voice. "What plan... I mean, plan for what? I assure you, I have no plans to kill Ted."

Alastor chuckled as Andromeda mentioned killing Ted. "No girl, there wont be any auror killing going on. I'd prefer no killing if possible." His eyes turned hard almost as if they became stone. "But we need to do something about this article. Who is this Skeeter woman? I'm thinking we should hand her over to the dementors for a couple hours." Alastor turned away from Andromeda and paced around in a small circle.
Turning his gaze towards Molly his features softened a bit. "C'mon you have to agree Molly, I know if Fabian were here he'd be marching off with me! The Ministry is worried about themselves and their appearances with the public." Approaching Andromeda again he stood inches in front of her. "I am not the Ministry and neither are you Andromeda, this is a personal attack and we must retaliate!"

Andi sighed with relief. Revenge against Rita Skeeter, now that was something she could get behind. Loathesome girl. "She's a student. Seventh year, I think. And believe me, I have no intention of letting her slide on this. She made me sound like a fool, and caused my father to come over here. I can't forgive that."
She sank down onto the sofa and put her head in her hands. "But Mr. Moody, I don't have any fight in me right now. I would like nothing better than to give the girl a good bat bogey curse, or maybe feed her to a hippogriff. But I don't have it in me right now."
Merlin, it would be so much easier if she could just get angry. Where was her Black family temper?

Alastor sighed at the younger Auror, he learned early on in his career with a profession like theirs they always had to fight. Kneeling down in front of Andromeda he gently lifted her head and removed the robe from his neck slightly to reveal a small scar just short of his neck. "From my last assignment, ambushed by death eaters. Do you think I might of been able to avoid it if I told them I had no desire to fight?" Standing back up and covering his scar he turned his back to her and took a few steps away.
"The way I see it is you can sit in here and feel sorry for yourself until Angelique and Vincent come knocking on your door. Or you can go back to work and make life on one Rita Skeeter very, very hard."

Molly sighed and nodded. "Yes, Mr. Moody. I do agree," she said softly, her eyes on Andromeda. She wanted revenge on Ted, too, and she didn't understand why she seemed to be the only one.
"Andi, I've already told you a million times... you don't have to be strong enough to fight right now," she glanced at Alastor. If Andi needed grief time, she would get it. "I'm here. Mr. Moody is here, and you have Alice and Sirius and a hundred other people willing to fight for you. And we will, and we'll be there still when you want to join the fight, and I know you will."

Andi looked at them both and nodded slowly. "You're right," she agreed. "Of course you're right... and this isn't like me. I should be furious, I should be breaking down doors and going after the likes of Rita Skeeter with everything I've got. Normally I would be." She stared at the spot on Moody's neck where the scar was, now hidden by his robe. She thought to herself that if she came upon Death Eaters in the state she was in now, she would have been killed. Alarmingly, she found that she didn't really care all that much. The way she felt right now, she didn't feel she had anything to live for, anything to fight for. It was a dangerous, frightening feeling. What kind of auror was she? She was supposed to be brave and strong, and here she was, cowering in her apartment and blubbering like a baby.
But anger, rage, revenge... these were the kinds of things that fueled death eaters, too. She didn't want to be like that; she'd fought all her life against it. It was the reason she'd passively sat back and let her father disown her.
On the other hand, she couldn't let other people, no matter how much she loved them, fight her battles for her. It was cowardly and childish and she was neither of those things.
She lifted her chin and clenched her jaw, slowly summoning the anger that was still buried beneath the pain. "OK. I'll do something about it. I just need to figure out what. Molly, would you mind making some coffee?"

Molly grinned. She was thrilled that Andi was going to do something about this, and she'd fight tooth and nail to help her friend. They were going to shut down Rita Skeeter, the Daily Prophet, and anyone who came to them asking about it.
She nodded. "I'm on it," she said. "One pot of coffee, coming up." She disappeared into the kitchen for a few minutes.

Alastor beamed at the younger auror almost with a sense of pride. With a bit more time and some of Alastors tough love she could just yet become a salvageable dark wizard catcher. As Molly disappeared into the kitchen area, Alastor walked over to a small desk and laid down a piece of parchment. "Well first things first Andromeda, we need to send an owl to Angelique and Vincent so that they can get their lecture over with."
Carefully scribbling a few words onto the parchment he stood back and read the letter to himself.
Angelique, Get Vincent and come to Andi's apartment so you can yell at her for being a victim of the daily prophet.
-Alastor
Walking over to the window he let out a shrill whistle and a dark brown owl landed on the sill. Tying the parchment to its leg Moody whispered something to it and it flew off on its way to deliver the letter. "Now girl, we need to get your mind off of this matter for a moment. So I think we should begin by you giving me a report on what's been going on in Hogwarts, any suspected death eaters?"

Andi groaned. She was about to get still more company. And it seemed like everyone was coming over except the one person she wanted. He was weighing heavily in her thoughts. Not a second went by that she didn't think of him, ache for him, wish he'd walk through that door and tell her that he was sorry and it was all a mistake. Was she really becoming the girl who was undone by a man? Who lived for a man and had no life without him? She used to make fun of those girls, back at Hogwarts. And now, she was just like them. It even hurt to breathe.
But dammit, she was a Black. And her father could disown her, but he couldn't take the Black family genes out of her blood. Blacks did not lie down and take it when they were hurt, abused, humiliated or defamed. No... they fought back. And so must she. After some coffee. Yes, maybe some coffee would give her the energy to work up a good amount of rage, or at least a decent amount of righteous indignation.
One thing she was sure of, if many more people came barging into her apartment, she might just get angry enough to confront Rita Skeeter.
At Moody's question, she looked up at him. So far, there was only one person at the school that she strongly suspected of being a Death Eater. She still had no proof... but she would swear to it.
"Well.... there's my sister," she said. "Or ex-sister, I guess, since I've been disowned. Bellatrix."

Alastor turned towards Andromeda as she let out a groan and he smiled inwardly knowing more than he would like too how she felt. Taking a quick glance out the window at the busy streets of Hogsmeade he took a deep breath of fresh air and walked over to Andromeda. "Why don't you go to him? Let me deal with Angelique and Vincent, send him an owl, meet him somewhere." Alastor leaned in close so as to be able to lower his voice to a near whisper.
"If you tell anyone I said this they will never find your body. Right now you and Ted need to worry about you and Ted. I'd rather have you take some time off so you and him can straighten stuff out then have you let me die because your more worried about Rita Skeeter and Ted Tonks." Standing back Alastor casually took a seat in a chair across the room and looked at Andromeda. "Besides, i'm sure Albus would have no problem finding a temporary fill in for your Herbology class."

Narcissa was extremely angered by the Daily Prophet. Damn that Rita Skeeter. She always has to say something that is far from the truth. As Narcissa was reading the article for a second time, an owl dropped a note in her lap. It was from Bellatrix. She was going over to Andi's, and that probably meant father would be as well. That would be just great. Andi was never going to hear the end of it. Narcissa felt bad for her.
Although she had her talk with Ted, she knew that she could not mention anything to Andi. After all, she didn't want her to be angry with her. Cissa knew that Ted was in a boat without oars, just like her sister.
Waiting for a bit, Cissa waited on Bella and her father to leave. There was no way that she could show up with them after she made amends with Andi. She was not about to act angry with Andi. Andi had to much going on right now.
Leaving the school, Cissa immediately went to Andi's apartment. She figured that her other sister, and father would have had time to leave by now. Narcissa gently knocked on the door.
