((Most creative title award goes too..))
Danielle ran a hand through her hair, which was uncharacteristically down. She usually threw it up in a bun or a ponytail to keep it out of the way, especially when she was working.
She knew Ross would be showing up soon, so she went ahead and ordered two scoops of her favorite ice cream, and two scoops of his, before handing over 8 galleons, and sitting in the booth in the corner that they had long ago claimed as their own.

Ross went out with a few people on a job this morning. A new found wizard, a little boy around the age of six, had blown up the neighbor's garden. The neighbors saw the little boy do it and Ross had to run out to adjust any memories that needed to be fixed.
He walked back into his cramped office space. There was really too much stuff in one room. Glancing at the time, he cursed under his breath. Ross remembered that he promised he'd meet Danny at the ice cream parlor. He felt like he hadn't talked to her in ages, although it had only been about two days, considering he had to go on a trip for his job.
Walking into the ice cream parlor, he looked directly to the table the two always sat. A smile spread across his face. "Sorry I'm running a bit late," Ross apologized sliding into his side of the booth. "And thank you for going ahead and getting my ice cream. How have you been?"

Danny smiled nonchalantly and shrugged. "It's all right; I kept it from melting," she told him, nudging the little cup of ice cream towards him. "I can only assume you were doing something terribly exciting," she added, wiggling her eyebrows playfully, in a way that said, 'tell me about it.' She got a kick out of hearing stories from his work.
"I've been all right. Just busy. But you understand that."

Ross laughed as she wiggled her eyebrows. "You remember I went on that trip the other day, and then I got back early this morning, only to have a six year old blow up his neighbor's garden! So as soon as I got done with that, I went back to my so-called office and then as soon as I sat down I realized that I was late. Knocked my knee on my desk trying to make it here in a rush. I think it's going to leave a bruise." He poked his lip out a little, playfully. Ross started to grin in spite of himself.
"Of course you're busy. Many people like female nurses," he said suggestively and gave her a playful wink.

He eyes grew wide. "The trip! Right! How did that go?" She asked. "I'm such an airhead some times," she said, her way of apologizing to him for forgetting. They both got so caught up sometimes. When they had first left school, they had been practically inseperable, but then lives and reality took over. If she didn't see him now, it was because one or the other was busy, and it as easy to forget things. Well, for her it was. She was one of those insanely intelligent people that could never remember where they put her keys. Sometimes, day to day habits passed her by.
"Oh... are we blaming the bruise on me?" She asked with an indignant laugh. "Fine. Without it, you may have never remembered to come see me. I'll take the blame."
At his final comment she resisted the urge to roll her eyes, and instead grinned. "Indeed they do. Oh, and so do the patients."

"The trip was alright. Mostly work, but it was enjoyable I guess," Ross said with a shrug. "And you are quiet the airhead. Sometimes I wonder how in the world I became friends with you." He flashed a goofy grin to let her know that he was just playing with her. To Ross, they had been friends forever. Danielle was probably one of the few girls that he could talk to without stuttering or forgetting what he was going to say.
"Of course I would have still remembered to come see you. That's one thing I don't forget, even if I remember at the last minute."
Another laugh escaped him. "Just don't go with the really ugly ones., and the extremely good looking ones. They may have diseases you don't know about, and I wouldn't want my Danny to catch a disease from some weirdo." He was still playing around with her. "But. Seriously, I'm glad that you're not bored at your job. If you were I would have to go over there with some kind of entertainment."

She gave him a look of mock horror. "What? All the really good looking ones have diseases too? Well that's just not fair. Of course, being a mediwitch and all, I'm probably only attracted to guys with weird diseases."
She looked him over, not doubting for a second that if she did claim she was bored, or in anyway unhappy, that he would come down and do something downright silly to cheer her up. She loved that about him. "You know, maybe you should come entertain me anyway, Ross. There are a lot of cute, sweet, cute nurses."

Ross took a bite of his ice cream. "The only decent thing I'm good at is juggling. So maybe that will keep you entertained." He grinned. Ross was not that great at juggling. He could do it slowly, but he always tried something new to make Danny laugh.
"Oh, so you're trying to set me up now are you? Of course that would probably be entertainment in itself! I would stutter nonstop." He chuckled and shook his head. "Naturally you would have some kind of enjoyment out of that."

"Naturally," she grinned. "You're adorable when you stutter." She laughed, knowing it was never something a guy wanted to hear, that he was adorable.
Ross was one of those kinds of people that could always make her laugh, even when she didn't want to smile. He always made her day a little brighter, and it was her mission to find him a sweet girl who deserved him.
"We have a new intern at the hospital," she said offhandedly. "It's a guy... don't worry, I won't set you up with him. He just came in today though... I think I might have scared him off."

Ross gave Danny a strange look. "Adorable? Yeah right. Not when the girl thinks I'm incapable of putting a whole sentence together without stuttering, so that runs her off." He shook his head. His stuttering in front of women was something that always embarrassed him.
"Good, because I don't swing that way." He gave her a wink. Ross reached over and took a spoonful of her ice cream. "I'm sure you would have scared him off. Your face alone is scary." He gave her a playful grin. "Just kidding! I don't think you would have scared him off. You don't scare me, unless of course you stand above me when I'm sleeping like you did before!"

Danny stuck her tongue out at him, then scooped a small bit of ice cream onto her spoon and flicked it at him.
"I don't scare you because you know me," she pointed out, not even bothering to defend herself against the instance he referrenced. "We were really busy today, and I should have just had him shadow one of the mediwizards or myself, but an extra set of hands just sounded like Heaven," she said. "I sort of just threw a bunch of files at him. We'll see if he comes back tomorrow."

"Hey now! You shouldn't flick ice cream at me," Ross said wiping the ice cream off the tip of his nose. "That's just cruel to the ice cream cause it says 'eat me' not 'flick me'." He gave her a grin.
"Oh, you do scare me sometimes, but I just don't let you know about it." He winked, then shrugged. "He'll probably come back. If he made it through today, I'm sure that he would come back. You don't have many people come in to be interns."
Ross flicked a little bit of ice cream at Danny for payback. A wicked grin spread across his face. "We need to go out one night, like we used to. Are you to tired to go out tonight?"

Danny shrugged. "Yeah... I know we don't have a lot of people come in, which is why I wish he would have talked to anyone else... maybe I am a little scary." She laughed. She was often no nonsense, no fooling around... when she was working. When she was off, she knew how to be laid back and have fun. It would be nice if Jonathan came back. He had proved he was more than competent.
She closed her eyes and tried to fend of the ice cream, succeeding in getting her fingers sticky, and not much else. As she wiped her hands clean on a napkin, she considered going out, and nodded. "Yeah, I guess I could be talked into it." She smiled. "I hadn't realized how long it's been... we've both been so busy lately."

"Hey, that's not fair," declared Ross. "You made ice cream hit my face, and then you just simply use your fingers to keep it from hitting you!" He frowned playful and took another bite of ice cream, before tilting his head to the side and grinning.
"Oh, persuasion! We can go dancing! That would be interesting!" Ross clapped his hands together once. "Yes, each of us have been busy, and tonight, we're going to unwind. I seriously need it. The guys on my department are too serious for my taste, but I enjoy the work."

"Yes but now it's all over my fingers," she pointed out. "And I learned a long time ago that you have horrible aim," Danny added, giving him a wicked, playful grin. She had known him forever, she thought. She couldn't actually remember a time in her life when he wasn't her best friend, even when she had moved away for a while when she graduated Hogwarts.
She honestly thought she was too tired to dance, but she couldn't pass up the time with Ross, especially when they were so pretty. She exaggerated a sigh. "All right. But I have to get pretty first. And wash the smell of hospital off of me."

"Thanks Danny, now my self confidence level just went down," he said teasingly. "I'm practicing now, so that the next time we come in here, I can flick ice cream at you and it gets stuck somewhere on that face of yours." Ross moved his spoon in the air while he was talking, only to stick it back in his ice cream again.
Ross raised an eyebrow as she said she had to get pretty. Honestly, he thought that she was pretty now. She always was, no matter what she wore.
He put a hand up to his nose to signal she smelt. "Phew. So you're what I've been smelling! You really do need a shower!" Ross started to laugh, then began to rub the new beginnings of facial hair. "I need to go get one myself and change. I'm also thinking about maybe shaving and getting a haircut. What do you think?"

Danny reached across the small table and smacked his arm for the smelling comment, but she laughed as she did it. Ross was often abused by her, but then again, he should be used to it.
She reached out and touched his chin, and then smiled a little and shrugged. "I kind of like the gruff look. But it's up to you. And anyway, you're going to take twice as long as me to get ready anyway."

"Hey now," he said as she hit him. "Now I'm going to have bruises! My bruises just healed up two days ago from the last time you hit me! You're lucky you're a girl missy." Ross gave her a wink before finishing off his ice cream.
Ross' cheeks turned to a light pink, but he hoped that it wasn't dark enough for Danny to see, as she touched his chin. "Me, take twice as long as you? Ha! You must be outside your mind! All I have to do is shower, dry off, and get dressed. You have to take a shower, dry off, get dressed, do your hair and face paint, then you're finished!"
He gave her a boyish like grin. "I think I'm going to give myself a buzz cut whenever I get back to my apartment, but keep my newly growing facial hair."

"Well, if you weren't such a girl about it..." Danny teased him, then rolled her eyes good naturedly. "Please. You know I can be ready to go anywhere in five minutes flat."
It was true, although magic helped. Danny wasn't a girl that often wore make up or took a long time on her hair. She just got ready and went... life was far too short to spend time getting ready to experience it. When she did wear make up and dresses though, she was a knock out. Ross was usually the only one who saw her like this, except the occasional guy who made it past a second date.
She nodded. "All right. I can take that compromise. Keep the beard for a little while," she smiled. "Girls like the grizzly look, anyway. So... what are we still doing here?"

Ross knew what she said was true. "Well, you use magic! Last time I used magic to try and cut my hair, well, you remember what it looked like. I'm never doing that again, and I'm sorry that I want to be clean." He gave her a wink.
"I don't know if I want to try and pick up girls tonight. You remember last time I tried that when we went to the club. I couldn't get a whole sentence together! She just walked away and I didn't know what to say! I'm not trying that again. Besides, we've got to make up for some time. Neither of us are working tonight, so we shall go to the club and dance the night away. If you walk away with a date, then good for you, but I'm not going to." In a way, Ross had always been slightly jealous of the guys that Danny dated, and he didn't think that they were good enough for her. However, he wasn't going to say anything of it.
"Hm. Good question. We should get going so I can take my time while I beautify myself." He gave a huge grin. "Come on Ms. Thomas, let's go!" Ross extended his arm out for her to take. "I shall drop you off at your apartment, seeing as we're neighbors, and that well be the gentlemanly thing to do."
