Andromeda was feeling desperate to get out and do something fun for a change. Lately, with her training and everything, she'd hardly had a chance to get out and just have fun for a while. So, even though Ted was out of town for a while, and she didn't really have anyone to go with, she decided to step out and go to Spellbound for a few drinks and some dancing.
AS she walked into the club, however, her auror training kicked in. She began to scan the club for possible Death Eaters. What was wrong with her? Why couldn't she just relax for a night and not think about work?
She headed to the bar to get a drink, hoping that maybe if she had a little alcohol in her, she would forget about work.

Unattached, and still considering herself young, Amelia decided to go out on her night off. And what better place than SpellBound? She was a regular here, embracing the time she had away from the Ministry. Dancing was such a great way to work out, without feeling like you're actually working out. She had been dancing for quite a while when she headed over to the bar for a drink. She wasn't one for alcoholic beverages, not since her seventh year at Hogwarts when an older boy snuck some rum into the Common Room. She was so sick that night.
"Can I get a spritzer water, please?" She leaned up against the bar and had to spea rather loudly to be heard over the noise of the club. As she waited for her drink she scanned the bar. There were a few other regulars, to whom she nodded politely.
On her other side was a girl from the Ministry. Ambrosia? Antionette? Something odd starting with an A. "You work at the Ministry, don't you?"

Andi ordered a butterbeer, and was standing there waiting for it, when she heard another voice next to her, ordering a drink. At first she didn't pay much attention, since the club was fairly crowded that night. She began swaying slightly to the music, while she watched the bartender pouring her butterbeer. Then she realized that the person next to her was speaking to her, so she turned. She recognized the woman, who was a few years older than she was. She'd seen her a few times at the Ministry. "Yeah, I do," she replied. "I'm an auror. Well, an auror in training, actually. I'm Andromeda... but just call me Andi."

"Ah, yes. You're one of Cygnus Black's girls. There's been a lot of talk about you. I hear you're quite gifted, an excellent addition to the force." She switched her glass to her left hand and offered her right in formal greeting. "I'm Amelia. I work with the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. So I'm sure I'll be seeing more of you once you finish your training."

Andi gave a wry grin. "Yeah, Cygnus Black. Although I'm not sure he's still admitting I'm his daughter these days. We had a pretty ugly fight over my decision to become an auror." She shrugged. "Oh, well, it's not like I do everything he tells me to do. Or, you know... anything he tells me to do." She gave a small sigh and picked up the mug of butterbeer that the bartender had just placed in front of her. "I guess I'm just the rebel of the family. Always have been."

Amelia laughed. "Well, I suppose there's one in every family. That's what they say, isn't it?" She was sure Andi was being overly dramatic about her father disowning her. She had heard about the Black family, the empire that they were. A little conservative yes, but generally thought of as good people. Contributing members to society. Perhaps it wasn't his first choice for his eldest daughter to go into such a dangerous line of work, but surely no parent wanted their child in harms way.

"Yeah, I guess there is," Andi agreed, taking a sip from her butterbeer. "Honestly, just the fact that I ended up in Gryffindor was almost enough to make me the black sheep. We come from a long line of Slytherins, I'm sure you know. But I've never understood what the big deal was. Besides, I don't look very good in green. Red was always my color."

Amelia laughed. She had a good sense of humor, this girl. "Unfortunately I was in Hufflepuff, and blondes just don't look good in yellow. Drowns us out." She sipped on her water and scanned the club. There were loads of people out tonight. "You know, there aren't as many attractive wizards coming here as there were a few years ago."

"Oh, yeah... yellow is a bad color for blondes," Andi agreed. "Actually, it's not good for most people, I think. But it's worse for blondes. I think I'd have begged the Sorting Hat to put me in Ravenclaw if I was a blonde." Sipping her butterbeer, she followed Amelia's scan of the club. "Yeah, I know, I've noticed that, too. And of course, I'm usually suspicious of the good-looking ones. I think everyone's a Death Eater, I swear. Oh, well... I'm actually sort of seeing someone, anyway. Of course, it doesn't hurt to look..."

Amelia laughed at Andi's Death Eater comment. She really was going to be a fantastic auror, she already was as paranoid as the lot of them. "That feeling won't go away, trust me. Your trainings will only make you more suspicious. Honestly, I hate having to go into the auror department for anything. It's like I'm a bloody murder suspect in there." She continued to laugh along with the conversation. It was funny, but only away from the office.
"Ah, so we've a man, have we? Well that's just fine. I'll continue to be the only eligible witch in the Ministry." It seemed the whole world was pairing off, Amelia couldn't understand why. From everything Amelia had seen or heard from friends, relationships were nothing more than a hassle with a few lovely benefits thrown in. And while Amelia was nothing close to promiscuous, she found the benefits were still available to those outside of the relationship world.

Andi laughed. "Yeah, it's true. They're even suspicious of newcomers. Being the new Auror in the office is rough. I had to be interrogated by each one in turn before they'd agree to let me start training. I don't doubt that if I'd given even one questionable answer, I'd have ended up in Azkaban!" She shook her head. Those first couple of weeks had really been scary, but finally she'd managed to earn acceptance. As it turned out, the aurors were all really nice people. "Anyway, if they give you any trouble, I'll vouch for you. You seem decent enough to me."
At the mention of her relationship with Ted, she blushed slightly. "Well, I don't know for sure how serious he is about me... But I do like him a lot. So I guess we'll see..."

"Oh come on, don't be shy. I know we've only just met but I think I'm making you my new friend, and friends share about their men." Amelia laughed at herself. Though she was fairly outgoing, she didn't have many friends. She was usually too busy with work to maintain social relationship. Plus, she was wasn't very trusting at times.

Andi giggled. Normally she wasn't a giggler, but every so often when she got a little nervous or embarrassed, one would slip out. "Well, OK," she said. "His name is Ted Tonks. We knew each other in school, but not very well... he was in Ravenclaw and I was in Gryffindor. But I always thought he was cute. When we both started working as Aurors, we got to talking, and he asked me out. We've been seeing each other for a couple of months, but he's away on assignment right now, so I won't really be seeing him for a while. But he sent me an owl yesterday telling me how much he missed me..."

Caleb was out partying one night, relaxing before the events that were soon to unfold. The attack would be fun but stressful. He had to be on top of his game and if his mind were restless he wouldn't be able to focus purely on the mission. There was no better way to unwind than with a few drinks and a little socializing. Caleb spotted a couple of attractive ladies near the bar. They looked a little older than himself, and probably out of his league, but there was no harm in chatting them up and see what came of things. "Good evening ladies. Mind if I join you?" He signaled to the bartender to refresh their drinks, which he paid for.

Andi looked up at the guy, instantly suspicious. She'd been trying to relax her auror's instincts, but her instincts as a woman told her that this guy did not exactly have the most honorable intentions. She was always suspicious of guys who paid for women's drinks when the women hadn't asked them to. Plying a woman with liquor... it was the oldest trick in the book.
She turned to look at him, one hand perched on her hip. "Well, it's a free club, I guess we can't stop you," she replied.

The first woman's demeanor was clearly signlaing that she was not in the mood, and as this was his day to relax, Caleb didn't feel like bothering with her. "I suppose someone so rude wouldn't appreciate a little innocent conversation." He looked at the other woman, who had remained silent. "I suppose she's more into your type?"

Andi rolled her eyes. "Typical," she said. "When a girl's not interested in a guy, that obviously means she must not like guys at all, right? I have a boyfriend, and I'm not interested in anyone else right now. But, hey, you can stay if you want. That is," she said, looking at Amelia, "if it's OK with you."

Their banter was quite amusing, but it was short lived. Amelia didn't like the look of this boy. That was what he was, a boy. He was at least five years younger than her, probably just barely old enough to get into the club. "Perhaps it would be best if you found someone your own age to try to pick up. Leave the grown ups to themselves."

Kyle hated the club scene. It really wasn't his kind of place. The music was loud, the drinks were bad, and he'd never been a very good dancer. But he'd received a tip about vampire activity at Spellbound, so he decided to go and check it out.
He figured that the best way to go was to attempt to blend in, and to start with, it would help to have a drink in his hand. So he headed to the bar, making a casual sweep of the dance floor as he went. There didn't seem to be anything suspicious going on, at least not on the surface. But he'd seen enough to know that there was always something more going on beneath the surface. It was enough to make a man jaded and cynical, but he wasn't there. Not yet. He had his moments, but for the most part, he still believed that most people were good at heart.
He reached the bar and ordered a butterbeer, then glanced over to see two young women seemingly arguing with a man. Ever the boy scout, Kyle was unable to refrain from moving a little closer to them and saying to the blonde, who was standing closest to him, "This guy bothering you?"

"This really isn't any of your business, mate. Piss off." Caleb was not in the mood now for anything that this man wanted to start. He had been rejected twice in only a few short minutes, and he had basically been called a child. All he had wanted to do tonight was relax, but clearly that was not going to happen.
