Sirius thought for a minute. "Um... I think next Wednesday will be the full moon. Kris said she can't meet me that night, so maybe we could meet. Up in the astronomy tower at midnight? Or do you think maybe that's too late?" This was starting to sound weird, like they were meeting for some sort of dodgy business somewhere, instead of just meeting to talk and get to know each other. "Astronomy Tower at midnight on Wednesday, sounds good. I'll meet you up there then. It'll give the girls in the dorm a chance to be deep enough in sleep that they won't hear me leave," said Amy. As of now, Wednesday seemed so far away. Too many days away, but Amy would deal with it. She would have to anyway, if she liked it our not. Of course she would count them down. Sneaking around was never thought of by Amy, in order to talk with her friends, but now, it was a necessary thing. The idea continued to excite her. She never done anything like that before, but Amy felt like she would do anything for Sirius. "I can't wait," she said with a grin appearing on her face.

"I told you, they didn't appreciate you there. It was all about the boy. It was always about the boy. Ever since they got the prophecy." She clamped her hands over her mouth. "Oh, I wasn't supposed to tell you about the prophecy..." "I don't care, I am happy here, I am going to stay no matter what you say." Kris said she stood up, "Now if you don't mind, I have a boyfriend to get back to."

"That's what you think!" Norah said harshly, standing up as well. She grabbed Kris's hand and began to drag her out of the pub. "You're coming with me. Do you really think I'd let you go that easily? You're mine, do you hear that? My daughter! Not his!"

"Let go!" Kris yelled as she started trying to pull away from her. "Sirius!" Her eyes scanned the room but saw him nowhere, her heart dropped. She needed his help and he wasn't there, she continued to try to pull free. "Let go of me!"

She never done anything like that before, but Amy felt like she would do anything for Sirius. "I can't wait," she said with a grin appearing on her face. Sirius smiled. "Neither can I," he admitted. "I think it'll be fun. Just sneaking out, talking under the stars and the full moon..." It occurred to him in a flash just how wrong it was that he was going to sneak around with Amy and meet her in the same spot where he'd spent a sweet, romantic night with Kris. Somehow, that night, anything had seemed possible. It was like, as they looked at the stars with her, he could see forever. He even felt a lump in his throat as he thought about the star he had named for her. But then in the morning, she'd started acting strange... crying for no reason, babbling about wanting him to know everything... then running away suddenly. It had all been so weird... he just didn't know what to think anymore. She confused him and exhausted him. But here was Amy, and she made him laugh, made him feel excited... he didn't understand it. He stood there for a minute, just looking at her, as the awkward silence stretched out. "Um... yeah, I guess I should get back to Kris now. I'll see you Wednesday night." He turned to go, but as had happened in the library, he couldn't quite bring himself to leave. He turned back around and, without even thinking about it, began to kiss her again.

The thought of talking underneath the bright moon and stars seemed a bit romantic, but it didn't really matter. They couldn't be involved with each other like that. He was really off limits in any way, but Amy still couldn't resist wanting to be around him. Maybe the reason she really wanted to be around him was that he was off limits, but when she first met him, she didn't know that he had a girlfriend or anything. So, that couldn't really be it. Amy wasn't sure, and she was confused about everything. She wished that she really had someone to go to and just talk about how she feels, but yet, she didn't really have anyone that she could really go talk to, unless she went to go talk to Lily. Although, Amy didn't really know Lily like that, she wasn't sure if she would feel comfortable telling her all this.
"Yeah. I don't want her to go psycho on you," said Amy with another light smile. "Okay. I'll see you then." She watched him turn to go. Something in her wanted to make him stop and just come back and stay. This was becoming too crazy. Before she knew it, Sirius' lips were on hers, once again. He didn't pull away like he did in the Library. Amy kissed him softly, in return. All thoughts vanished from her mind. She pulled away, cheeks flushed. "I'll see you on Wednesday," she whispered. Amy tried to move from her spot, but it felt as if her feet were glued to the floor.

You're my daughter, and you're coming with me." She gave a bright smile to the people around them in order to throw off any suspicions. "Now, Kris, baby, don't make me carry you out of here. You heard me. Your behavior is unacceptable! Let's go, now!"

Kris continued to look around for Sirius as she kept trying to pull away, she glared up at her when she told her she was her mother. "You're not my real mother! I'm staying with my father so let go!" She looked around once more as she yelled for her boyfriend again.

Norah gritted her teeth. "Shut up, girl!" she hissed. They were almost at the door by now, and Norah was relieved to see that the stupid boy wasn't here to butt in. She didn't want to be forced to take him hostage, too. "I can't let you go, can't you see that?" She clamped her hand over Kris's mouth and dragged her out of the pub.

Tears were in Kris's eyes as she was forced out of the pub, she thought Sirius loved her but he probably slipped off to be with another girl. She couldn't believe he left her when she needed him.

She pulled away, cheeks flushed. "I'll see you on Wednesday," she whispered. Amy tried to move from her spot, but it felt as if her feet were glued to the floor. As Amy pulled away from the kiss, Sirius looked down at her, his breath coming in shallow, uneven gasps. "I'm sorry..." he whispered. "I... I don't know why I did that..." Now he was sure he was the worst person in the world. Why did he keep kissing Amy when he loved Kris? If they met in the Astronomy Tower on Wednesday, would they just end up kissing the whole time? This thing between them was starting to feel like it was more than friendship, and he wasn't sure what he was supposed to do about that. He couldn't break up with Kris... couldn't break her heart... but there was definitely between him and Amy that he couldn't quite deny... "I gotta go," he said, his voice cracking slightly. "I gotta go back to Kris. I'll... I'll talk to you later." He took a deep breath and headed back out into the bar area. But, as he looked back to where Kris had been sitting with her adopted mother, he froze. They were both gone. His first fear was that Kris had finished talking to the woman early and had come back to where he and Amy had been talking... and had seen them kissing! If that had happened... well, he had no explanation for her. There was no excuse for what he'd done... he knew that. He deserved whatever she said to him... but he hated the thought of her running through the town, hurt and upset and angry... He ran up to the table where she had been sitting and looked around, as if hoping for a clue of some kind. Looking over at a tall, hook-nosed witch at a nearby table, he asked, "Did you see what happened to the woman and girl that were sitting at this table." The witch shrugged boredly and took a sip from a small shot glass. "Yeah, I did," she said in a casual tone. "Well... what happened, then?" Sirius asked, frustrated. "The woman dragged the girl out of here, kicking and screaming," replied the witch in a bland tone, as if she saw that sort of thing happen every day. "The girl kept calling for someone named Sirius." "What?" Sirius cried. "You mean she was kidnapped?" The witch shrugged again. "I guess so. You ask too many questions, kid." She took another sip from her shot glass and closed her eyes as if to dismiss him. Sirius turned away from the woman and stared at the door. What was he going to do now? Kris was kidnapped... and it was all his fault!

Peter continued to listen to Sirius and Amy talk. Secret meeting on Wednesday in the Astronomy Tower? Oh buddy. He was surely going to fit in with the boys this time. Peter started to grin, then felt his jaw drop when Sirius leaned in to kiss Amy. She kissed him right back! Things couldn't get any better than this! He rubbed his hands together as a plan formed in his mind. He could use this information against Sirius to fit in. Blackmail. PERFECT! As Sirius turned and left, Amy seemed to frown as he entered the front of the building. Peter waited until the girl left to come out of his hiding place. He let out a low chuckle. Life was starting to look up.
Peter slipped out of the back, unnoticed as usual. He appeared next to Sirius who seemed to be frustrated about something or another. "Hey Sirius," said Peter. "Whatcha doing?"

Sirius was still staring helplessly at the door, wondering what he should do next. When he heard a voice next to him, he nearly jumped out of his skin. Turning slightly, he realized it was just Peter. He didn't really pay a lot of attention to the scrawny little kid, so he slumped over slightly when he saw him.
"Oh, hey, Peter," he said distractedly. "Um... I'm kind of in the middle of a crisis situation here, I don't really have time to hang out with you right now. Maybe later, OK?" He started toward the door.

Peter frowned whenever Sirius said that he didn't have time to hang out with him. He always said that. Sirius always had better things to do than hang around him. Peter was sick of this. No one ever had time to hang out with him. What was so wrong with him? He wasn't that bad of a guy!
Peter gave a scoff as Sirius started to head towards the door. It was now, or never. A slow smile spread across Peter's lips. "Oh, a crisis huh? You never have time to hang out with me. No one does. Although, I bet part of your crisis has to be you being stuck in between girls. Am I right," he called to Sirius, following him to the door.

Sirius was distracted, still thinking about how he was going to find Kris and who he should tell, so he was barely listening to Peter's little outburst. But on hearing the last line, he froze, his hand on the door handle. Turning slowly to face Peter, he said in a low voice, "What did you just say?" He looked at Peter as if seeing him for the first time. "What do you know?"

"I know just about everything Sirius," replied Peter. "See, that's what happens when you go unnoticed. You can just sneak by without anyone noticing you, and you happen to pick up on things. A lot of things really. Embarrassing things, things you wish you didn't hear, things that could break people a part, you know that sort of thing." Peter fought back his grin. Now, he had Sirius' attention. Just like he planned. "I know about them Sirius. I know your secret, and I know that if anyone else knew, then, it wouldn't be pretty."

Sirius stared at Peter, his eyes wide with shock. He didn't know how Peter knew his secret, and he didn't want to know. What concerned him most at that moment was how to keep the little creep silent. "I don't believe you," he said in a low voice.

"Oh really? You don't believe me? Well, what if I said, just sneaking out, talking under the stars and the full moon. Would that make you believe me? Or what about 'I think next Wednesday will be the full moon. Kris said she can't meet me that night, so maybe we could meet," said Peter tilting his head to the side. "Does that make you believe me? If not, you know, I could always secretly owl Kris and tell her about your little rendezvous with a pretty little red-head in the back of The Three Broomsticks. I'm sure that she will LOVE that! Don't you?" A grin started to slowly spread across his face.

Sirius's jaw nearly hit the floor. His first instinct was to grab the little jerk and beat him up, but he knew that would only ensure his doom. Peter would not hesitate to tell Kris. She'd wind up heartbroken, and Remus would surely kill him.
He let out a frustrated groan. "OK, fine, Peter, so you heard everything," he said. "Obviously, if you just wanted to ruin my life, you wouldn't stop to tell me about it first. So I'm guessing you want something else from me to keep this quiet. What is it?"

"Ah, so we DO have some brains up there in that head of yours," replied Peter with his grin, pointing up to Sirius' head. "I congratulate you on figuring out so quickly!" Sirius was right. If he did actually want to ruin him, he would have done it without telling him. Now, it was time to get what he always wanted. "Well, you know, all I've ever wanted to do is be accepted. To be liked. No one has ever given me that chance. However, now I can have that chance, and that chance is through you my friend. I'm really not that bad of a guy, once you get to know me. So, what you have to do to keep me quiet, is be friends with me, and let me join your little group of you, Remus, and James. Simple as that. You don't do that, and well, there will be dire consequences. Deal?"
