Taking a rest and chatting(Sirius, Norah, Amy)

[Amy Icefire]

Amy knew that this subject was going to resurface. "We haven't done anything Sirius. Nothing is going on. And stopping what exactly? Friendship? I don't mean to sound mean or anything, because I'm not being that way. If not talking to you or whatever keeps you and Kris together, then I'll do it. I never meant for anything to go wrong. It wasn't supposed to. I was just supposed to come here and make friends, and not cause any trouble with anyone. I'm sorry that I carried on with you in class. I shouldn't have done that. I should have just ignored you, but I was new and I didn't really know anyone." Amy picked up her glass. "So, whatever happened in the library never happened. It's just a figment of your imagination. I hope that everything between you and Kris is going to be alright." She gave him a friendly smile. Amy never did meant for anything like that to happen, and she felt like her heart was breaking as Sirius spoke, as well as when she replied. She hid her emotions behind a friendly smile she plastered on her face.

[Sirius Black]

Sirius sighed. She was right. They weren't actually doing anything, all they had done was flirt a little and kiss once. But both of those things had been his fault. He had started this, and now he didn't know how to stop it. "You're right," he admitted. "None of this your fault. I'm the one who flirted with you, how could you do anything else but respond? You didn't even know about Kris." He leaned a little closer and said in a low voice. "And I'm the one who kissed you. You didn't ask me to, and I don't know why I did it, but it happened. And now... I can't look at you without thinking about it. I can't even eat chocolate anymore without thinking about you. And it's crazy, because I don't know you, and I'm supposed to be in love with Kris..." He stopped, frustrated. "If I were you, I'd run away from me now."

[Amy Icefire]

Amy felt the heat raising to her cheeks as Sirius whispered. "Look, Sirius. It never happened. You must have seriously just dreamed it." Amy grew quite for a few moments. "So I'm guess that I should say goodbye then?" She wasn't about to admit that she couldn't take her eyes off him whenever she saw him, or about how he made goosebumps appear on her skin whenever he looked at her. Amy never wanted to cause any tension between Sirius and Kris. She didn't want to end her friendship with Sirius, and Amy bit the inside of her gum to keep herself from crying.

[Sirius Black]

Sirius groaned. This wasn't working the way he had hoped. But then, he wasn't sure what he had expected. Did he really think that just telling Amy that whatever they had was over before it ever started would make it be true? Had he expected Amy to just calmly tell him that it was fine if they never spoke to each other again? Did he really believe that he could just forget about the kiss and move on?

The truth was, he couldn't forget it. It was burned into his brain, just like his first kiss with Kris. He didn't want to forget it. But could he still remember it and still stay with Kris? Could he let that one kiss with Amy just stand alone as a sweet but distant memory? That he wasn't sure about.

He glanced over his shoulder to where Kris was talking to the woman. They were still talking, and Kris had her back to him. The woman was facing their direction, but was focused on Kris. He sighed. "This isn't working," he said to Amy. "I can't just forget... but I don't know what else to do. I don't want to leave her. I love her. But you.... you excite me. I don't even know you, but I want to know you. I wish there was a way we could just be friends, without the rest of this stuff getting in the way..."

"I do, I want to be with my dad and brother, I want to be able to remember my real mother." Kris kept the letters her father gave her with her all the time. "Why didn't you send my letters to them?" She was a little hurt.

"I'm your mother," Norah said flatly. "I'm the one who raised you! I'm the one who took care of you all those years. I'm the only one that wanted you. They told me it was all your fault that your brother was bitten by that werewolf. You were supposed to be watching him, and you failed. But I said it wasn't fair to blame you... little boys can do things so quickly, it's easy to miss. I'm the one who took you in, you're my daughter, do you hear me? MINE!" Her voice got progressively louder, and her eyes seemed to bulge out of her head.

[Kris Lupin]

Kris thought those words sounded familiar, then it came to her, "Th-that's what Greyback told me... but he was lying..." If he was lying then she was too, it had to be a lie, it just had to be. She shook her head, "No, I don't believe it, why would my father want me to stay if that was true?"

[Norah Lake]

"I don't know, I can't pretend to know what that man is thinking. He's a liar, Kris. He probably just wants to take you away from me, because he knows that you're all I have." She began to cry openly, letting out a loud wail that caused several people to look over at them curiously. "Please... don't go. I've been so lonely at home without you, they never really appreciated you, they always spoiled the boy..."

"I don't believe you and I am staying with him and my brother." Kris said ignoring the other people. She believed her father's story more then hers, but she wondered why she would say the same thing as Greyback.

Amy sighed. She didn't want to forget it either, and she knew that she couldn't ever forget it. It was her first kiss, ever, and it was just too sweet and innocent and it just felt right. "I can't either," she said quietly. "I don't want to. But, if that means keeping you and Kris together I'll try it. I mean, I never meant to cause a stir like this. I still want to be friends, but apparently your girlfriend over there doesn't like me very much. Although, I don't think I would like me very much either if I was in her position." She reached up and ran a hand through her red hair. "Maybe we could still be friends, but not visual to everyone else friends?" Amy wasn't even sure what just came out of her mouth made any sense, but she hoped Sirius knew what she meant.

[Sirius Black]

Sirius sighed. There were too many people around, too many people who might hear what they were saying. He didn't want Kris to get hurt. He glanced back and saw that she seemed to be arguing with the woman.

He grabbed Amy's arm. "Come on, I think there's a back room here somewhere. Let's go in there and talk for a bit... There's too many people around."

[Amy Icefire]

Amy felt Sirius grab her arm. She just nodded and made her feet lurch forward to keep herself from being dragged. Amy gave a quick glance over her shoulder, Kris seemed to be arguing with a woman. She looked back towards Sirius and followed him to the back room.

Once they entered the back room, Amy looked to Sirius. "Now. There's no one to hear anything. And who's that woman out there?"

[Sirius Black]

"What, the woman? Oh, I'm pretty sure it's the woman who raised Kris. She didn't actually introduce me, though, come to think of it."

Sirius ran his hands through his hair and began to pace nervously. "See, the thing is, I don't want to stay away from you. I don't want to forget what happened." He stopped pacing and turned to look at her. "I want to get to know you better. You know, like.. be friends. But I don't think Kris will understand that. So, what if we kind of... what if we were secret friends?" He almost laughed at how stupid that sounded.

"We could, like... meet in secret. I'm sure James could cover for me or something. And just talk and stuff. But I couldn't do much more than smile at you in public, unless Kris isn't around. What do you think?"

[Amy Icefire]

Amy thought about it for a moment. She never had a 'secret' friend, and it appeared that if she was going to have a friendship with Sirius, then that was how it was going to be. The thought of what if they got caught ran through her head, but she couldn't think negatively. If she thought that way, it surely would happen!

"Secret friends? I guess that will be okay," replied Amy. She didn't really want to had their friendship, but it was the only way. "I don't really see any problem with that. I don't want Kris to go crazy and attack you or something, so secret friends it is." She gave a smile. "It sounds like we're in some kind of group or something."

[Sirius Black]

Sirius smiled slightly, relieved. He didn't know why, but he didn't want to miss the chance to get to know Amy. And they could be just friends, right? "Cool," he said. He stood there, for a moment, unsure of what to do next. "I should probably get back to Kris now..."

Norah's eyes flashed. "Oh, no, you're not," she said. "You are not leaving me. You can't leave. I told you, you're all I've got! Do you want me to be alone? Don't you care that I'm the one who raised you, who took you in when you had no place to go?"

Kris started to feel scared, but she tried to hide it. "I don't want to miss out on having a father and brother anymore, I have always wanted to go home and be with them, but you lied to my father and never sent my letters to them." She didn't understand why she was being like this, it was like she wasn't in her right mind.

Amy shifted her weight from one foot to the other. She didn't really want Sirius to leave, nor did she really want to hide their friendship, but it was something necessary in order for them to be friends. Maybe hiding their friendship wouldn't be a bad thing. The thought of sneaking away from everyone just to meet him, was exciting. It was something new, and just the thought of him being somewhat forbidden made him even more attractive than he was. Amy reached up and started to play with the ends of her hair. "I guess," she sighed. "Although, when do you want to meet and where?"

[Peter Pettigrew]

Great. Just great. Peter was alone at Hogsmeade. Again. Remus, Sirius, and James all had dates to go with them. But Peter? Oh no. He didn't have a date. No girl wanted to go with him, but then again, he never really did ask. Remus, Sirius, and James were all good-looking guys, but Peter? He wasn't as good-looking as they were. He had always done everything he could to fit in with those three. That's all he ever wanted. But did they let him into their 'group'?! NO! Peter was angry with the three. They were supposed to be his friends, but they liked to leave him out of everything.

Walking around Hogsmeade alone did get quite boring, but Peter was used to it. He walked into the Three Broomsticks, unnoticed. Peter found the corner very inviting. Sitting in the corner, Peter could observe everyone and get information on everyone. Because he was unnoticed, Peter knew a little bit about everyone. He liked to watch so that way he could get the 'dirt' on everyone. A grin appeared on his face as he saw Sirius and Kris come in, as well as the new red headed girl, Amy, walk in right after them. Oh this was going to get interesting.

Peter knew that there was something going on between Amy and Sirius, but he couldn't put his finger on it. Maybe sitting there and watching, he could figure it out. A few moments later, a woman entered appearing to know Kris, then Sirius and Amy were at the bar. Peter wanted to sit there and watch, trying to listen, but the urge to use the bathroom hit. He tried to hold it so he could listen, but the urge started to get stronger, so he disappeared to the bathroom. On his way out, he heard voices from the area the bathroom was. A grin appeared on his face as he caught a glimpse of Amy and Sirius talking. A secret friendship eh? He rubbed his hands together. Perfect! Peter kept himself hid behind a few crates, listening to what the two were saying. Maybe there would be useful information that he could use to 'fit in' with James, Sirius, and Remus.

[Sirius Black]

Sirius thought for a minute. "Um... I think next Wednesday will be the full moon. Kris said she can't meet me that night, so maybe we could meet. Up in the astronomy tower at midnight? Or do you think maybe that's too late?" This was starting to sound weird, like they were meeting for some sort of dodgy business somewhere, instead of just meeting to talk and get to know each other.

"I told you, they didn't appreciate you there. It was all about the boy. It was always about the boy. Ever since they got the prophecy." She clamped her hands over her mouth. "Oh, I wasn't supposed to tell you about the prophecy..."
