"No, Cassidy is single," said Evangeline. "She's pretty much shy, like I am. I don't know how things are going, but hopefully, she's not going to be single long."

"Well, that's a shame," Tristan said. "I bet she's lovely, too. Why is it all the pretty girls are so shy?" He smiled at her. "Well, I'd definitely like to meet her some time. Maybe I could set her up with a friend of mine from the hospital."

Evangeline laughed with a shrug. "Maybe you could. I'm not sure how things would go, but I'm pretty sure she'd have a good time. You could possibly meet her in a few days, because like I said she's busy with a case, but I'm sure she'd take some time away from it."

"OK, well, that sounds nice," Tristan said, as the waitress walked over to them. "I'll have the roasted chicken and tomato sandwich, and a butterbeer. How about you?" he asked, looking at Evangeline.

I think I'll just take a roast beef and Jack cheese sandwhich and a butterbeer," said Evangeline.

The waitress nodded and wrote down their order, then walked away. Tristan smiled and leaned across the table and took her hand. "Well, the night may not ahve started out very well, but I hope it's getting better now," he said. "I still can't believe that vampire did that... if I ever see him again, I'll kill him."

Evangeline smiled whenever he took her hand. "The night has turned better," she said. "I hope that doesn't happen again. I'm sorry that I did dance with him, but for some odd reason, I couldn't resist, even though I tried."

"Maybe we should try to find other places to go for our dates," Tristan suggested. "The last time we were there, that drunk guy tried to force you to dance with him, too, remember? I can't have all these random guys forcing you to dance with them... I really don't want to share you with anyone."

"Eh, maybe so," said Evangeline. "Then again, this place is crawling with strange people. And the way I see it, I don't believe you'll be 'sharing me' again. I don't like to be shared. It makes me feel dirty if I am shared."

"Yeah, I guess it's hard to find a place where there aren't any strange people around. I mean, we don't want to go hang around muggles, do we?" He gave her a grin. "Well, good. I definitely don't want to share you. If I see another guy trying to come after you, I may just have to get nasty. Trust me, you don't want to see that."

Evangeline laughed. "I don't think it will come to that," she said with a smile. "Some muggles aren't so bad, but then there are some that I just don't like."

Tristan frowned. "The trouble with muggles is that they think they're so superior and that we're the freaks. Which is stupid, because we're the ones with the power. But if they knew about our powers, they'd turn into some psycho mob. I actually had that happen to a buddy of mine. They beat him up so he was barely recognizable."

"Muggles can't really understand the concept that we are magic. They get scared, well, the majority of them, if they find out we have magic, then yes, they will come after us. Luckly there's a barrier between the wizarding world and the muggle world," said Evangeline. "Well, a slight barrier."

"That's the way it should be," Tristan said. "It's just better for both them and us, you know?"
Just then the waitress came by with their orders. Tristan thanked her as she put their plates in front of them and walked away.

"Yeah, because if there wasn't a barrier, then muggles would be here all the time," said Evangeline. "I guess it is for the best." She smiled at the waitress and glanced down at her sandwich, then taking a bite out of it. "Although, there are a few muggles who want to know everything about us."

"Probably so they can exploit our powers for their own use," Tristan said matter-of-factly. "They're always trying to find some way to make themselves more important than they are." He shrugged and took a bite of his sandwich. "Hmmm, this sandwich isn't bad. How's yours?"

"It's pretty good," said Evangeline. "Although, a lot of people hate muggles because they think they're all bad, but I don't really hate muggles, but yet, I don't love them either. They're okay too me, as long as they don't try to bring down the government, it will be alright I suppose."

Tristan nodded. "Yeah, I suppose that's about right," he said. He didn't add that he privately thought that, given half the chance, the muggles would in fact, try to take over the wizarding world in some way. If he made his feelings too clear to her, she might figure out he was a death eater. "Anyway, I don't really want to talk about muggles... tell me more about you."

"There's not really anything else to know about me really. I was just a nerd in school, I suppose you could say. Just trying to get by, not having any enemies. That's just about it. I wanted a ministry job, and they stuck me in registry. Although, I can't complain. It's a good job, although tiring," said Evangeline.

Tristan shook his head. "I find it hard to imagine you as a nerd... and I even knew you then." He smiled and took another bite of his sandwich. "I admit, I was kind of a trouble maker back then. I liked playing pranks. My teachers swore I would never be good at anything... I'm sure they'd all be shocked if they knew I was a doctor now."
