Jake backed off not showing any fear. "She's your girl, I was just teaching her some dance moves and keeping her entertained while she was waiting." Jake explained.

"And while you were at it, you thought you might as well have a snack, is that it?" Tristan said. "Evangeline, was he forcing you to dance with him?"

While tristan was looking away from him, Jake aimed a punch at Tristan's neck, hoping to knock him out.

Evangeline wasn't sure how to answer. "I told him that I wasn't good at dancing, but he kepted on, and we danced, but I tried to stay away, but he pulled me closer, and then I couldn't get away," said Evangeline.

Tristan staggered backward and hit the floor. He saw stars for a moment, but didn't black out. "Ow!" he yelled. He shook his head and tried to focus. "You underhanded bloodsucking jerk!" he yelled, getting up and charging at him with his stake drawn.

"That's for stepping in at headquarters." Jake said. Tristan ran at him with the stake. Jake was scared now. He watched in horror as it stabbed him close to the heart.
"The Dark Lord.." Jake said trying to get the words out, "wouldn't like it if you killed his follower."

Tristan pulled back, removing the stake from Jake's chest. "That was a warning blow," he said harshly. "Next time it goes through your heart." He glanced over at Evangeline to see if she'd heard the bit about headquarters. Looking back at Jake, he added, "And I have no idea what you're talking about. You must have me mistaken for someone else. Come on, Evangeline, let's go somewhere else." He took her hand and headed for the door.

Evangeline was about to raise a question whenever Jake said something about headquarters and the dark lord, but she didn't ask her question, since Tristan said that he must have mistaken him. For the second time that night, Evangeline and been sort of pulled along. She just went along with him and felt her neck where Jake had bitten her. "How long is this going to be there," she asked with her hand still on her neck.

Jake shook off the pain and watched as they walked out. The blood tasted good and he wanted more of her's. He got some more firewhiskey.

Tristan took a quick look at the bite mark on her neck. "I can't say for sure, it's not my area of expertise. My guess would be that it will last a few weeks... maybe you could wear scarves. I could take you to one of my colleagues in the Creature-Induced Injuries Department, if you'd like."

"No, I'm fine. I'll just wear scarves for the next few weeks, no big deal," said Evangeline with a slight shrug. "I'm sorry about what happened back there."

"Oh, hey, it's not your fault," Tristan said. "Vampires are strong and very persuasive. Once they make up their minds to go after someone, it's hard to fight them unless you're really strong. Honestly, where are all the vampire slayers when you need them? And the nightclub people really should have a no-vampire rule or something."

"Like that would stop them," said Evangeline. "That wouldn't work, because if you think about it, the Vampires would decide to cause an uproar, and that could lead to a war," she said. "Not all Vampires are that bad."

"You're probably right about that," said Tristan. "They aren't likely to stop just because we tell them to. But have you known many nice vampires? I know there are good werewolves, but most vampires I've met have been pretty bad."

"No, only one," said Evangeline. "I felt bad for him though, he ended up dying trying to protect a little girl. I remember that because he would randomly talk to me," she said. "Anyway, new topic?"

"That's very interesting," Tristan said. "Sure, we can talk about something else. I'm sorry I was late, by the way. I had a tough case come in just when I was supposed to leave. A little girl who'd stolen her brother's broom and tried to fly, but fell off. Luckily, I was able to help her, and I think she's going to be fine. How was your day?"

"Oh you know the usual. Doing paper work, having to get werewolves to agree to sign things, take a few tests. Nothing out of the ordinary, except for now, I get the whole entire registry to myself. Animagus included. More paper work, fun," said Evangeline. "Other than that, nothing really, other than my house is clean and more livable now."

"Oh, well, that all sounds good," Tristan said with a grin. "So, where do you want to go now? don't know about you, but I don't particularly want to hang out at the club anymore tonight."

"Not after what happened," said Evangeline shaking her head. "I guess we could go for something to eat, or something. I don't really care."

"Hmm," said Tristan. "I could eat. Hey, why don't we try that little restaurant in town? The Hot Panini? I hear they're pretty good. Have you been there yet?"
