He pulled her even closer, then bent down to kiss her slowly.

Evangeline stood on her tiptoes just a little as Tristan bent down and pulled her closer. She kissed him in return.

When they finally pulled apart, he didn't even have to pretend to be a little breathless. Kissing her had been surprisingly sweet, and better than he had expected. He broke into a smile. "Wow," he said, for once unsure of what to say.

Whenever they pulled away, Evangeline smiled. "That was nice," she finally said. Evangeline actually enjoyed the kiss, and she knew after that, she was falling for him.

"Yeah," he said, smiling. "It was nice. Better than nice." He was still feeling a bit fuzzy as a fast song began to play. "Why don't we sit down for a bit and have a little more to drink?" he suggested. "I can dance slow, but I'm crap at fast songs. I look kind of like a guy having a seizure."

Evangeline laughed. "I wouldn't want you to embarass yourself," she said with a laugh. "Yeah, I could go for more to drink," said Evangeline. "You're a pretty good dancer."

"Thanks," Tristan said. "You're not so bad yourself." He took her arm and walked back to the table. "I'll be right back," he said as he picked up their glasses, "I"m just going to get us a refill on our drinks. Try not to miss me too much." He winked at her as he walked quickly to the bar.

Evangeline smiled. "Well, it's a good thing I wasn't leading," she said. She took a seat at the table. "I will miss you greatly," said Evangeline teasingly. She watched him walk up to the bar and turned in her chair so that she was facing the table and sighed.

Charles staggered drunkenly into the nightclub. His decision to quit drinking hadn't worked out so well, and he was already back on the bottle. He'd been drinking at the Hog's Head for the last two hours, until the bartender threw him out. Now he thought maybe he could find a pretty girl to dance with. He looked around and spotted a tall brunette who seemed to be sitting alone, so he made his way over there. Grabbing her arm rudely, he said in what was supposed to be a charming voice, "Hello, love, let's dance!"

Evangeline saw a blond man walk in, but she didn't really pay that much attention to him. Once he came over to her, she smelled the alchol on his breathe and he grabbed her arm.
Hello, love, let's dance was the only thing she heard before she was dragged to the dance floor with him. "Let me go!" said Evangeline loudly and the blond man. She tried to struggle out of his grip, but failed. Although, he was drunk, he was still stronger than she was, and she couldn't struggle free of his grip.

"Aw, come on, then, I'm not so bad, now am I?" Charles slurred as he twirled her around awkwardly, nearly dropping her. He tripped slightly, using her to steady himself. "What's yer name, love?"

Evangeline balanced herself as he almost dropped her. "Yes, you are," said Evangeline. "If you were sober, you'd be different, but look at you, your drunk," she said. "And my name is not important."

"Not important?" Charles repeated, laughing. "That's a terrible name... Poor thing, your parents really shortchanged you, eh?" He spun her around again, then pulled her closer to him. "You know, the woman I love... who doesn't love me... she fell for the guy who swung her around a room. I thought maybe I'd try and see if it worked. You know, I'm not so bad when I'm not bloody drunk, but lately... I got nothing to be sober for." He tried to look pathetic, even as he accidentally stepped on her foot.

Evangeline tried to push away again, but failed. "Maybe it was more than just spinning her around a room. There was probably more. You know the whole gentleman thing. If you were a bit more of gentleman and stayed sober longer, I bet that you could find you a girl," said Evangeline. "I can tell you right now, it's not working for me. I'm here with someone else," she said. "And you do have something to be sober for if you don't want to remain lonely for the rest of your life," she said biting her tongue as he stepped on her foot. Evangeline attempted to push away again.

Tristan walked back to their table, both drinks in hand, and was surprised to find that Evangeline was not there. He put down the glasses and looked around the room. After a minute, he spotted her, struggling against the grip of a familiar-looking blonde guy, who was clearly drunk. Infuriated, Tristan rolled up his sleeves and charged over there. "Hey, you, get your hands off of her!" he shouted, giving the guy a shove.

Charles staggered backwards when Tristan pushed him. "Oh, so this is him, is it?" he said, ignoring Tristan and looking at Evangeline. "The guy you're with? He looks like a ponce, if you ask me." He looked back at Tristan with a scowl. "You know, you don't have to come to her rescue, I can take a hint. The girl doesn't like me, I get it. It's the story of my whole bloody life." He let Evangeline go and eyed Tristan suspiciously. "Say... don't I know you from somewhere?"

Tristan looked at him blankly. Of course he recognized Charles from his first Death Eater meeting, but he certainly didn't want Evangeline to know that. So he played dumb. "Of course not!" he snapped. "I've never seen you before..." He grabbed Evangeline's hand. "Come on, let's go, before this loser embarasses himself even more."

Evangeline looked between Tristan and Charles as Charles asked if he had seen Tristan anywhere. But, he said that he hadn't ever seen him before, so Evangeline just shrugged and followed Tristan back to the table. "Um, thanks," she said.

Tristan smiled. "No problem. It's sad, really... people who have nothing to do with their lives but get completely stinking drunk. He didn't hurt you, did he?"

"No, he didn't," said Evangeline. "He asked me my name and I told him that name was not important, and he took the literal meaning," she said shaking her head with a slight laugh. "You know, I seem to be thanking you a lot lately."
