Vincent went to the Three Broomsticks to meet Emily. He was feeling strangely nervous. He kept telling himself that this was a business meeting, nothing else, but yet, he had spent an hour on his hair. It was sticking up quite nicely, he decided. He quickly checked his reflection in a window as he he passed and decided that his hair had never looked better. Smiling confidently, he strolled into the Three Broomsticks and sat down at a table in the corner. Now, he thought to himself worriedly, what were they going to talk about? He knew this was supposed to be a business dinner, but he didn't want to discuss business the whole night. He thought for a while, then just decided to wing it. After all, as long as his hair looked good, what else mattered?

Emily walked into the Three Broomsticks. She saw Vincent at a table. Emily smiled and took a seat across from him. "Hey." she said smiling.

He smiled back at her, and silently hoped his hair hadn't gone flat. "Hey, how are you doing?" Man, that sounded so stupid, he thought.

"I haven't been beat up, cursed, or anything else, so I'm good. You?" she said tucking her hair behind her ears as always.

"Glad to hear that," he said. "I'm doing great, thanks." He cleared his throat. "You, uh, you look nice."

"Um, thanks." said Emily smiling. "You look nice too." she commented still smiling. She knew she probably looked like an idiot still smiling, but she didn't really care at the moment.

"Oh, thanks," he said, unconsciously patting his hair. "So, uh, here's the menu, I guess we should order something. And maybe a round of drinks?"

"Yeah, a round of drinks sounds good." Emily said smiling. She tucked her feet under her. "You're not used to this kind of thing are you?"

He laughed. "Is it that obvious? Yeah, I guess I'm not, really. I don't get out very much. You know, kinda occupied with my work and all that." He waved the bartender over. "Hey, we'd like to get started with a round of drinks." He looked at Emily. "What'll you have?"

"Firewhiskey." she said to the bartender. "I guess it's not that obvious. I just was checking to make sure I'm not the only one that doesn't get out much or anything. Ever since I graduated from Hogwarts I sort of lost contact with people." she said shrugging. "Now I'm back, so yeah." she said grinning.

"OK, a shot of firewhiskey for the lady, and I'll have a brandy," Vincent said. He turned back to her. "That's OK, you've been through a lot. Like I said, my work is my only excuse. I'm a busy guy."

"I can tell." said Emily smiling. "So what should we talk about now, because that conversation just bummed out." she said laughing slightly.

He laughed. "Yeah, I guess it sort of did." He looked at her, searching his brain for something else to talk about. "So, um... how 'bout those Chudley Cannons?"

"Ah, Quidditch. Chudley Cannons are pretty good, but I like the Bulgarins better." said Emily shrugging. "What about you?"

"Actually," he laughed, "the Chudley Cannons are terrible. But I'm from that area, so I guess I can't help rooting for them. Home team, you know? But yeah, the Bulgarian team is really good. I hear they're expected to make it to the Quidditch World Cup this year." The bartender returned with their drinks, and he took a long sip from his brandy.

"I hope they do win." said Emily smiling and taking a drink of her firewhiskey. "I played chaser on the Gryffindor team whenever I went to Hogwarts. My parents weren't too happy that I made it into Gryffindor though. They were Slytherins and my brother a Ravenclaw."

He smiled. "I was in Gryffindor, too. And I did play on the team. I was Keeper. In fact, I was captain in my last three years, and we won the Quidditch Cup all three years!" Unconsciously, he ran his hand through his hair again.

"We won the quidditch cup too, 4 years in a row. I was captain in my seventh year. I was going to go become a professional quidditch player, but my parents didn't want me to, and then that's when all that mess happened." commented Emily. "You know you run your hand through your hair a lot."

"I do?" he said, pausing in the middle of doing just that. "Um, yeah..." he laughed. "I guess I do. Just, you know... I like my hair. Is that shallow?" He took another sip of brandy. "Um, you know, you always tuck your hair behind your ears. It's, um.. it's kind of cute, actually..."
