"Oh jeez. Lets see. I learned to fly a broom when I was 3. I found out that I was a witch when I was 2, because I sort of blew up my dad's chair, on accident of course, and he didn't get mad, which was surprising seeing as it was his favorite chair, dad was actually very proud. I've been strangely fascinated with firecrackers since I was 4. My parents were deatheaters, but they were cool parents, all the same. My brother, well, we were close, and then Greyback came into the picture. My father was devasted after he had to kill my brother, since he tried to attack me. My mother went crazy on me, and I was basically the same me, but a depressed and troubled little kid. Finally I got out of my depressed stage, cheered up my parents, and continued to have a normal life until the age of 17, then that whole mess with the Army of Darkness happened. Then, on my 21st birthday, I ended up here, and that's basically it." summed up Emily. "That's my life in a nutshell." she said smiling. "What about you?"

"Well, let's see, my parents were muggles, but I always knew I was special. I used to be able to change my hair style and color whenever I wanted. My mom would give me short haircuts and it would grow overnight. All kinds of strange things used to happen around me that we couldn't understand until I got my Hogwarts letter. I learned to play Quidditch, I was good in Charms, Transfiguration, and Defense, so I decided to be an Auror. Ever since I took the test, I've been an Auror. Last month when our best Auror was killed, I was put in charge." He laughed. "I suppose it's not that interesting, huh?"

"Hey, sounds interesting to me." Emily said grinning. She finished up her pie and drink. Emily placed her elbow on the table and rested her head on her hand. "Of course, I find other people's lives interesting anyway."

He smiled. "Well, thanks," he said. He finished the last of his shepherd's pie and took a long sip from his brandy. "So, uh..." he trailed off, unable to think of anything else to say. So he blurted out, "how's my hair?"

Emily laughed. "It looks fine to me." she said smiling.

He laughed. "Sorry, that was... I don't know. You know, I thinkt he hair thing goes back to when I was a kid. I have this twin brother, Victor, and one time he shaved my head. He's... not a nice guy. Anyway, I was really self-conscious about it for a long time. I guess I never got over it."

Emily smiled. "I shaved my brother's hair once, but only because he burned my teddy bear." she said laughing. "Yeah, that wasn't nice shaving your head, and I understand that. But trust me, I like your hair, it's nice."

"Thanks," he said, grinning. "Yeah, he did it because I told on him for something--I don't even remember what it was now. He did a lot of rotten things." He looked at her seriously. "Were you really close to your brother... before he was bitten?"

"Yeah, I was. We were still close after he got bitten. I didn't know it of course until the night he tried to attack me that he was bitten. Dad just came out of nowhere with a sliver sword, cut the head off of the werewolf. The head landed just a few feet from me, and the body right infront of me. The thing turned back human, and I saw my brother's head. Of course I freaked, and ran to my room. I didn't come out to talk, eat or anything for about a week. Mom had to bring me stuff to drink and eat, but I rarely ate." said Emily shrugging.

"That's horrible," he said softly, reaching across the table to touch her cheek. "I'm really sorry. I can't even imagine how that must have felt, to see something like that."

Emily grabbed his hand and held it. "Don't worry about it. It happened several years ago, and I'm alright now, so everything's good." she said giving him a smile.

"Still, I'm really sorry. I always feel really bad for werewolves, you know? Many of them are not like Greyback, they're just ordinary people who've been cursed. It's a rough life, really. I think there might be a werewolf at Hogwarts now; I have Voltaire investigating it. If it's true, I want to get that kid on our side and give him our protection before Greyback gets to him."

"Yeah. It must really be hard on the kid. I mean they just want to be normal and everything, but it's near impossible because of the curse." commented Emily.

"Yeah," Vincent said. "Anyway, I hope we can find him. I really want to help this kid and keep him away from Greyback."

"Something tells me this kid will stay far away from Greyback as possible. If he wants sort of a normal life, then of course he'd stay away from Greyback, and I feel sure he'll let you help him." said Emily smiling.

He smiled. "I really hope you're right. I know I trust Dumbledore, and I'm sure he knows the kid's secret. And he wouldn't be here at Hogwarts if Dumbledore didn't think he could be trusted."

"Excatly, so no worries." she said smiling. "Although, we do have to worry about Greyback though."

"Yeah, Greyback is a worry. He's been around for a long time, and he's hard to stop. I'm not quite sure what to do about him." He finished his brandy, then broke into a smile. "So, would you like dessert?"

"Sure," she said. "Do you suppose they have cheesecake? It's one of my favorite desserts from America."
