Shanae entered Flourish and Bolts quietly. She grabbed brand new books, checking them off of her list as she stuffed them in a bag. She brought them to the register
"36 galleons, dear." Shanae extracted the money and handed it to the storekeeper, and left, toting her new books.

Robin walked into the book store and smiled brightly at the woman behind the counter. "Hi!" she said. She handed the woman a list. "I need these books for school, I was wondering if you could help me find them."
The witch nodded, pleased to see such a polite and friendly student. "Of course, dear. Will you be needing new or used?"
"It doesn't matter, I guess," Robin replied. "Whatever you have available. I wouldn't want to take up all the used ones, and not leave any for the kids who can't afford the new ones. But I don't care if they're new, either."
The witch smiled at her. "All right, I'll be right back." She looked down at the list for a moment, then walked away to find the books. She came back a few minutes later, with a stack of books levitating infront of her. "That's 6 books--3 used, and 3 new. That will be 27 galleons, please."
Robin took out her purse and counted out 27 galleons. "OK, here you go," she said. "Thanks you very much."
The woman put the books in a bag and handed it to Robin. "You're welcome. Have a nice day, dear."
Robin took the bag. "Thanks again!" she said brightly and walked out.

Rikanadad walked through the door of the shop and directly up to the counter and showed the lady her list "New please." She asked with a sigh pushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "That would be 48..." Rika placed down the money on the counter and smiled before grabbing her books and heading out the door. She had so much to do within the next few hours that sadly she didn't have enough time to talk.

Kate appeared in Flourish and Blotts with a slight smile on her face. She walked up to the lady at the counter and smiled. "I would like fifth year books please," said Kate politely. The woman looked at her with a kind smile. "Which ones?" "Um, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Ancient Runes, Charms, Transfiguration, Potions, Care of Magical Creatures, and Dueling," replied Kate. The woman nodded, disappearing to gather the books. Once she returned, she replied, "I know you like the used ones, so here you go. That will be, 21 galleons please." Kate looked around in her bag and pulled them out. "There you go. Thank you," said Kate. She picked up the books and headed out the door.

Asher slowly opened the door to the packed book store. He hated shopping for school things, it was such a bother; but it had to be done. At least it gives me a chance to walk around on my own he thought as he closed the door behind him, placing his hands in his pockets.
Walking towards the used books section, Asher quickly found the ones he would need for the next school term. His chocolat brown eyes looked towards the conter to see that the line to the cashier was extremly long. Sighing, he walked to the end of the line and waited for all the people to go before him. Every person who arrived at the counter seemed to take forever. Always asking stupid questions and interupting a sales transaction by asking where a certain book was.
After waitting for nearly an hour, Asher had finally reached the head of the line. "That'll be 20 galleons." the lady had told him. Quickly, Asher handed over the gold peices and made his way out of the store, there were still so many things left on his list of school supplies.

Eden cast a disapproving glance at the children who ran past her before stepping into Flourish and Blotts. The issues of her parents' estate had been resolved that morning. Her full fortune would be available to her when she came of age, though she had a generous yearly allowance at her disposal, and her uncle as well - in order to provide for her, of course. The home in Paris would be closed and maintained by the house elf while she was at school.
She selected her books from her list with a bored expression, sparing only a nod to the clerk when she paid. The street she stepped back out onto was quiet. With a sigh and a searching gaze she realized she ought to stock up on cigarettes.

Amy rushed through the doors and quickly made her way to the desk. "Good morning," she said smiling as she placed her class list on the counter. "I'd like used books please." The clerk turned around and quickly selected her books for her.
"Thank you," Amy replied as she placed the 18 galleons on the counter. She threw the books in her bag and hurried back out the door.

Lydia was having a busy day; she knew she had to buy all her books and clothes, but found it impossible to get away from her family. They were tearfully holding onto her every second of the day it seemed, too sad to let her leave for so long. When she finally had the chance to go out, she realised how much she'd miss them as soon as she'd attend Hogwarts. It would be strange since she was an only child; she'd have no siblings to go with her and no friends yet, but she definitely wasn't stressing, worrying or scared of it at all.
As soon as she entered Diagon Alley, a massive grin spread across her face. She'd never been so amazed in her whole life; she knew she'd definitely grow a liking to holding a wand soon. Observing every shop with a smile, she saw Flourish & Blotts, a dark-looking book shop. Since it was the first shop she saw, she walked in and looked around. Looking at every single shelf, she scratched her head. How am I gonna find the right books? She thought to herself. Knowing that the lady who worked there who was sat at the counter would know, she walked over to her with a smile. She stuck her right hand into the pocket of her jeans in search of the letter she had been sent from Hogwarts where the list of things she'd need would be. Finally feeling it, she pulled it out with a laugh. 'Finally got it.' She said with a smile.
Lydia requested the seven books on her list and looked up; she had been asked if she wanted them new or old. Well, new ones were definitely nicer but quite expensive and she wanted to have enough money at the end of the day to buy a pet. Also, reusing things was the best in her opinion, since it was better for the environment. 'I'll take used.' One by one, the thick books had all been stacked together into one big pile. Because they were so big, Lydia couldn't even see what was in front of her anymore. Waving her hand to blow the dust away from her face, she handed over 21 Galleons. Picking up the books, she held them all in her arms and bit her lip. Should've saved this till last. These books are pretty heavy. She thought. Opening the door, she smiled and waved goodbye to the staff and walked out. [/size]

Louisa entered the shop slowly, she'd been up early, and walking around all morning. She was tired, her head hurt and she'd forgotten what she needed, she approched the counter, browsing the shelves as she passed them, and smiled warmly at the lady behind the counter.
"Um... I was wondering, do you have the fifth year books in for Defense Against the Dark Arts, Potions, Transfiguration, Charms, Mugglestudies and Care Of Magical Creatures?" Louisa asked, politely.
The lady nodded, and smiled back, "New or old?" She asked,
"Old please," Louisa answered. She didn't have much money on her, and it was best to be on the safe side.
The woman nodded, and disappeared off in to the back room. She returned moments later, with six books in her arms.
"That'd be eighteen galleons, please." She said, placing the books down on the counter.
Louisa dropped the coins in to the womans waiting hand, and scooped the books up.
"Thanks," She said, before leaving the shop.

Rayne spent very little time looking around before she went straight to the woman behind the counter. She could get lost in a store like this.
"I need the books on this list, please," she told the woman.
"New or used?"
"Used, if that's possible." The woman nodded and returned moments later with a stack of books.
"21 galleons, miss."
Rayne paid the woman, checking off one more thing she had to do.

Rabastan walked into the book shop as if he owned the place, never saying a word as he laid down 36 galleons and the list of the books he needed. The woman behind the counter smiled at him, and he gave her a once over before deciding she wasn't really worth the effort.
"The books, if you will."
She sighed, knowing to bring back six new books, and took his coins, which he left laying on the counter. He was gone before she could even look up to tell him to have a nice day.

Gage had never been so happy his father had the job he had in his entire life until he saw the prices of the new books he needed for school. He wished he could have used Lexi or Logan'd books, but the American school they went to as first years didn't have the same books.
Gage picked up The Standard Bok of Spells (Grade 2), A History of Magic, A Beginners' Guide to Transfiguration and Magical Drafts and Potions. He staggared under the weight of the books as he brought them to the counter.
"Four books dear?" the shop keeper asked.
"Yes Ma'm," Gage said.
"24 galleons," Gage winced, but passed over the gold.
"Thank you!" the keeper said.
"No prob," Gage then dragged the books outside.

Alice Prewett walked into the book store and went straight to the section where the Hogwarts coursebooks were being stocked and grabbed up all of her 7th year books that she would be needing from her class list this term. She double checked that she had them all including the ones for her advanced classes and went to the counter to purchase her new books.
"Let's see your list, dear..." The clerk asked and Alice handed over her class and book list for the year. "Advanced Defence Against the Dark Arts, Advanced Potions, Advanced Transfiguration, Advanced Charms, Herbology, History of Magic... quite the coursework this year Miss Prewett! I wish you well on your NEWT exams this year, but I know you always do well don't you? Yes indeed... hrm.. yes.. that will be... 36 galleons Miss Prewett."
Alice paid Mr. Blott from the money her mother had given her earlier that day and placed them one by one into her wizarding bag which could hold much more than it looked on the outside. She did love that bag, as it came in handing with all those books for sure. She thanked him then and went back into the alley.

Rita swept into the book store and smiled at all the books she saw lining the shelves and stacks on the floor. One day her name would be among those authors, and she would make sure of it regardless of the cost. Her eyes gleamed with ambition as she thought about it and fingered a book on investigative reporting, "How to Charm your Way to the best Story". She picked up the book without a second thought as she passed heading towards the used book section.
She preferred the used books because usually there were handy little remarks in the margins already that could be helpful.. and if not there were often juicy tidbits of names in hearts or other doodles around the pages which was always of interest. She flipped through the books she needed trying to find copies with the most doodles and notes in the margins, and smiled with satisfaction as she went to the clerk and paid him 24 galleons for the new book and the used school books.

Arianna pushed open the shop's door and slid inside. Shopping alone was pretty hard considering she could barely open the doors. How could Arianna ever carry all those supplies alone? On top of that, her father had somehow found the time to calculate and limit her spending money to the bare minimum. Yet he couldn't even be here to help. Raising the list of shopping list that she'd need to her eyes, Arianna scanned the short list for textbooks. There was Numerology and Gramatica, The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 5. The others she needed were already in her collection. Arianna found the Grade 5 spellbook among the shelves easily enough. A used copy would do, as it was all she had enough for. During her search for the Arithmancy textbook, Arianna wondered why she'd taken the class in the first place. Arianna finally found the book and pulled it off the shelf to examine it. It seemed quite fine, but when she opened it all the charts were a bit confusing. It didn't take long for Arianna to slamm the book shut and shrug off the confusion. A moment later Arianna was paying for the books. The clerk said something that Arianna decided not to pay much attention to. She knew the books she had would cost six galleons so what was the use of what some old witch said? Arianna placed the payment upon the desk and turned quickly to leave the shop. Quite relieved to finally be on her way.

Elodie walked down Diagon alley and spotted Flourish and Blotts first. She walked in through the door and heard the bell above her signalling her arrival. She smiled at the clerk behind the desk and dug her list out of her pocket. "Hello" she greeted the clerk with a smile. "Erm I need these books please?" she handed the shopkeeper the list and watched as she scanned over it. "New or used?" she asked with a soft voice. "New please" she said with a smile. The shopkeeper went disappeared off and quickly came back with two piles of books, 3 books on each. "That will be 36 galleons please?" Elodie handed her the money and quickly put the books in her bag. She exited the shop with a friendly wave and set off on her next spending spree.

Leon picked the book off the shelf, it's binding new and fresh, one of the only copy of this book left. The rush for school seemed to wipe out the shelves, but he had still managed to get all the book he needed. It wasn't like he couldn't get the books anyway, but it was nice to do things the easy way. Carrying the mound of books towards the counter he wondered if this year would be easier then last.
All together he had six books, one fore every class except dueling, which could hardly be considered a class. It seemed as if this year would be good, and plus the world was turning on the fritz. Things had become difficult as of late, and Leon wasn't sure how long this would last. All this insanity, rumors had started floating about, and it seemed that few people had missed these rumors.
Setting the books up on the table the old woman crooned down on him from her large bat-like eyes. The coldness of her eyes echoing down onto him, and although he didn't feel intimidated by her he figured it would be best not to anger her. Picking through the books she analyzed them as if she was cataloging them in her mind. Laying them back down she wrote on a small piece of paper before looking back up.
"That will be 36 Galleons, sir."
The lady's high pitched voice scratched on his ear drums as he dug into his pocket pulling out a few of the coins. Laying them on the table he had a few left over that he pocketed as he picked up his books. The women looked at him with those beady eyes as he left, but he didn't care. That wench wasn't deserving enough of his thanks, and so he didn't give one as he pushed the door open and left.
