"I understand, I won't say anything to her about it. I heard from a man in the Hog's Head that Voldemort is planning on kidnapping someone. I dunno who, but I don't wanna tell Isabella and make her start worrying," said Emily. "I'm going to see if I can't get Dumbledore to help get the trial going a little faster, because I agree, that girl does need a life."

"Hmmm. We should see if we can find out who they're planning to kidnap," Vincent said. "I admit, I'm actually a bit worried about Voltaire and Isabella's baby. Do you think he'd try and take the baby out of revenge for their turning against him?"

Emily shrugged. "That's a high probablity that he could try, but I dunno," she said. "I don't want to worry her anymore than she already is," she said yawning.

"Yeah, she's got enough to worry about," Vincent agreed. "Are you getting tired? Maybe Poppy can set up a bed for you, if you want to stay, that is..."

"I'm just a little tired, and I guess I'll stay. The house is to creepy for just one person," said Emily grinning.

Vincent smiled. "Yeah, it's not exactly fun here by myself, either," he said. "So many kids coming in and out... yesterday, a kid came in with a horn on his nose from a backfired jinx." He laughed and took her hand. "It'll be good to have you here with me again."

Emily laughed. "That would have been an interesting sight," she said. "I'm glad to be back here with you. I don't really like to go places alone anymore."

"And you shouldn't," Vincent said. "Not only is Voldemort probably after you for leaving his ranks, but the vampire that attacked me is still out there, too. I assume he hasn't been caught yet?"

"I haven't gotten word of that. I highly doubt it. But you know, he could actually, possibly help us with Voldemort. I know it's a risk, but it's something we've probably got to do," said Emily.

"Emily, I don't want you to have anything to do with that guy," Vincent said. "He beat me up because he was looking for you. I don't think we can trust him. I definitely don't want you to get hurt."

"But...," begin Emily, but she sighed, "okay, okay, if that's what you want, I won't, but if we need extra help, I'll have to." Emily kissed his forehead. "Okay?"

"If we do need extra help, I want you to talk to that other vampire you mentioned. The girl. But I don't want you meeting with him, especially not alone. And you're definitely going to wait until I'm better." He touched her cheek. "You know, I must be feeling better; I keep saying 'when' and not 'if.'"

"IF we need extra help, I will. Hopefully we won't," Emily said. "I'm glad you're saying 'whens' and not 'ifs'," she said kissing him softly and then pulling back and smiling at him.

"I'm probably the only person in the world who was happy to have hot soup spilled on him," Vincent said with a grin. "I wonder..." He concentrated really hard to see if he could move his foot at all. After a moment of focusing his energy on his foot, his big toe twitched slightly. He laughed. "I'll be walking in no time," he said. "As long as you're here to urge me on. I really was a fool, Emily. I should have believed you when you said it was temporary, and I should have known that all I needed to help myself heal was you." He kissed her. "I love you," he whispered.

Emily watched as Vincent concentrated on moving his foot. She laughed at the expression on his face, and smiled again whenever his toe twitched. "Believe me, I'm not planning on leaving you anytime soon." Whenever he kissed her, she closed her eyes. Whenever he pulled away, she slowly opened her eyes. "I love you too, and you don't know how much I missed hearing you say that, nor kissing you," she replied.

"Well, if I have my way, you won't ever have to miss those things again," Vincent promised. "I don't plan on ever letter you go again. Isabella was right, I let my stupid male pride get in the way. I won't do it again." He leaned up and kissed her. "I'm getting pretty sleepy myself... maybe we should rest now? It's been a big day, and we'll have a tough one tomorrow..."

Emily nodded and yawned again. "I agree. Tomorrow is going to be a long day and I've got to get up earlier than normal too."

Vincent nodded and pointed to the bed on the other side of his. "Why don't you lie down over here?" he said. "I wish there was enough room for you to join me here, but these beds are a little small..."

Emily laughed and pulled the bed that was next to his, closer so that they where side-by-side. "Is that better?" she asked with a grin.

"Much better," he said with a grin. He shifted on the bed, so he was lying in a more comfortable position. "Goodnight, Emily."
