Diana had cleaned the room as Christian had asked. Then annoyingly she cleaned again. She was so bored out of her skull she thought she might destroy the room just to give her something to do. This anxiety wasn't good for the baby, but Christian hadn't deigned to let her know what was going on.
She slept in Alyx's room that night, holding onto her pride and bitterness to sustain her, but in the morning she was livid that Christian still hadn't come to her.
She began to pound on the door loudly.
"Christian!"
To get his attention further she began to throw things once more.

Christian had returned late in the evening the night prior and found no reason to speak with Diana. He had read the paper, listened to the radio downstairs, made himself a late supper, then gone to bed.
He was only partially dressed when she started making a racket. "What the bloody hell is it, now?" he asked, barging into the room wearing only his pants.

She didn't even bother to glare at him as she shouted, "Bathroom!" and ran past him into the other room. When she had relieved her bladder, she then took her time brushing her teeth and washing her face.
When she returned she gave him the glare she had held off on.
"I'm pregnant you moron! Pregnant women have to pee at least once every three hours, that is when you actually give them food and water to begin with! You can't just ignore me because you don't know what to do with me."

Christian felt a small twinge of guilt as Diana ran like a mad woman to the toilet. The feeling subsided as Diana reemerged and began shouting at him.
"If you're so bloody hungry then go downstairs and make yourself some God damned food!" He would have to rethink this situation if he was going to keep her here long. The faster he found a way out of this life bond the better.

Diana turned on her heel, but not before purposefully stepping on his foot. She stomped away angrily.
"Bloody caveman!" she shouted out back toward him, yelling obscenities all the way down to the kitchen. She kept yelling at him to mask the worry and indecision she felt over her new precarious position in his life.
She moved with a knowing grace throughout the kitchen, losing herself in making herself something to eat. She frowned, "We're out of orange juice again." she called out momentarily forgetting that she hadn't lived in the house in over a week and to Christian she had never lived there before.

He had honestly expected a lot more backtalk from her, but then he hadn't bothered to feed her much and as she was pregnant she probably was quite hungry. He listened to her impressive string of obscenities as he returned to his room to fetch a shirt.
"That's unfortunate for you," Christian retorted as he came down the stairs, buttoning his shirt. He didn't care whether or not she had orange juice with her breakfast. He hardly cared that she had breakfast at all, but the threat of him starving to death alongside her made him care just a little.

She glared at him. She was developing quite a talent for it, but she didn't stop fixing her food. Finally she sat down and ate with a look of pure glee on her face. She had charmed away the baby bump for now so it was impressive how much food Diana could put away. Then again she always had quite an appetite - for all things.
Now that her main needs had been met she turned to Christian, her tone was much more reasonable.
"So what's the plan Christian?"

Where Diana thought it was impressive how much food she could fit into her slender body, Christian found it repulsive. He sneered as she cleaned her plate and groaned inwardly at how much this woman was going to cost him in grocery bills alone. He needed to find a way out of the Life Bond quickly, for more than one reason. His sanity was high on that list.
"The plan is for you to shut the hell up." He was being childish and grumpier than usual but unlike Diana he had yet to eat. He grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl and took a bite.

"Don't look at me like that." she snarled, "I don't want to be here anymore than you do. But if you insist on making me your prisoner here, then shouldn't there be some sort of plan? So we can get out of one another's hair?"
She sat and thought about it for a moment, "No, you know what, I've just decided I don't give a rat's ass about what the plan is. You're so bloody smart you can figure it out all by yourself. Just feed me and grant me access to the bathroom, and we don't have to have anything to do with one another."

"But then I'd miss out on this sparkling personality of yours," Christian said with a sneer.
"How you ever duped a man into impregnating you is beyond me." Christian wasn't sure what to believe about Diana's children's father. The evidence all pointed toward him, which meant Diana was telling the truth. But no matter how hard he tried he could not imagine a situation that would have wound him up in anything other than an accident. Because, let's face it, Diana was a knock out and mind-blowingly terrific in bed. Christian could easily see dragging her into his bed several times before tiring of her - but he always did grow tired of them after a while.

She flinched.
"I didn't dupe anyone, but how I could have been so blind as to let a man like you even touch me is simply mind boggling. Rest assured, it won't happen again, but then as you so eagerly threw in my face yesterday, your vows mean nothing to you and you're free to roam to whatever b*tch in heat you find. Do be a dear and try not to mortgage the house on hookers and scotch."
She stood then and with an evil smirk shimmied slowly out of her bloody ruined dress. When she stood naked in front of him, she casually turned and tossed the dress in the trash bin. Without a word she moved away from him toward the stairs uttering a spell that turned the water on for the shower.

Christian stood transfixed on the gorgeous, angry creature standing naked in his kitchen. He felt a strong desire to grab her but resisted the urge as she pushed past him and uttered the incantation to the shower. She didn't have her wand, which meant that for the shower to be turning on now as she was on the stairs she had to be more than a little familiar with Christian's home. She knew how to use the intrinsic magic that had been established for his ease and comfort.
That made Christian uneasy and he hollered up after her, "don't worry. I'll be rolling in hookers and scotch after getting the reward for your bloody head!"

Diana didn't rise to the bait of his comment, she slammed the bathroom door shut and escaped into the hot water, letting it wash the filth as well as the ache from her body. But it couldn't wash away the pain in her heart.
She didn't know when the tears came as the water washed them away from her face, but she didn't leave the safety of the water for quite some time.
She was so strong and down right antagonistic when it came to facing off against Christian. She was ruthless in the face of her enemies, but when the curtain came down she was tired, she was sad, and once again she was alone.

Christian stewed in his anger over Diana's familiarity with his home. After several minutes he decided he'd put an end to it. He couldn't trust her life in anyone else's hands so he was stuck with her, but it didn't mean he had to be a gracious host.
While Diana took an unreasonably long shower, Christian set up a barrier on the second floor of his home. Within the invisible barrier Diana would have access to the spare room, the bathroom, and the hallway the connected the two. Her access stopped at the top step of the staircase and did not extend to his bedroom, storage closet, or his hidden Dark Arts room. She would have no access to the main floor of the house unless he so wished it, which meant she'd have to learn to control her tongue if she wanted to eat much more than toast.

Which meant she couldn't grab one of Christian's shirts to wear as she found out when she exited the bathroom. She also didn't have her own clothing as they were still in the hotel room she had left. She couldn't conjure clothes without her wand and found herself in quite the quandary, naked, vulnerable, effectively helpless.
She would have to play nice. Screw that.
"Christian!"

Christian was downstairs, having a proper breakfast when Diana yelled for him. He closed his eyes and suppressed a growl before moving to the stairs. He walked hallway up and stopped on the landing, looking up through the railing as Diana stood in the upstairs hallway.
"Problem?" he asked with an arrogant smirk and haughtily raised eyebrows.

There was heat in her eyes, anger in her stance, irritation surrounding her and she pinned it all on the man she tried not to love. There were several ways to play the game, but she could tell yelling would only make the arrogant swine laugh at her. She tried a different tack. "Would you be a dear and let me in the main bedroom? I'll only be a moment." she said sweetly.

He almost laughed at her sudden change in tactics but he kept himself composed. "Oh, is that all you needed? No," he said shortly and began the descent down the stairs.

"As amusing as you might find the idea of me traipsing about her naked for however long you intend to keep me here, it's cold and I need something to wear." she said crossing her arms over her chest.
"I have some clothes in the closet." she smirked at him. Further evidence that what she said was truth.

Christian smirked as Diana mentioned strutting about the house naked as a jay bird. He would, in fact, find that amusing. And arousing. Dangerous thoughts.
"Is that so?" Christian asked as he paused on the stairs and turned back. "Well, let's have a look, shall we?" His words were full of an arrogant satisfaction that came with knowing she was wrong. He had spent a week dressing from his closet and was quite certain there was nothing of hers (or any woman's) in there.
Christian didn't know it, and Diana was obviously not thinking of it, but Burke had swept the house after Diana took his memories. Every remnant of Diana's life here was gone. The only physical clue that proved Diana was not making it all up were the records Christian had bought for Alyx. Evidently Derek just thought Christian had poor taste in music.
