Arabelle was sitting on a bench in the corner of the courtyard. It was the same spot she always sat in. Her legs were pulled up under her and she had her nose buried in a book. Her mother has always insisted that between her nose always being stuck in a book and her flightiness she will never get to know anyone. Then again most people just avoid her because she is ‘a bit strange’.
Her fingers gently flip through the remaining pages and she noticed she only has a chapter to go. I better get to the library she thought to herself. She does have school work she should be doing but she needs a break and what’s a better break than a new book? Standing up slowly with her nose tucked in her book and eyes glued to the pages she slips her bag on her shoulder and heads into the castle with the library first on her list.
Paying no attention to anyone around her she was headed right for one of boy’s backside. She turned the page and managed to glance up from her book but it was too late she was already smacking into his back. She dropped her book to the floor and rubbed her head which was slightly pink now. “Sorry about that. I don’t always pay attention to where I am going but then again even if I was looking I probably would have still ran into you. I tend to be stuck in my own thoughts."
She ran her fingers through her brown curls moving them out of her face and it wasn’t until she managed stopped talking that she noticed how closely she was standing to him. As her eyes met his and she could feel her cheeks turning bright pink. She had completely forgotten about the book on the floor, the library and for the first time in her life she could not think of what to say next.

Wyatt had been enjoying a break between classes in the courtyard. As usual, he was surrounded by his group of "friends," just hanging out and talking. Of course, most of Wyatt's conversation had been about things he knew, as a way of demonstrating his superior intelligence over them. Yes, it was obnoxious, and even Wyatt admitted it to himself. But his so-called friends were just so infernally stupid sometimes, and it annoyed him to hear them talking about blood purity and such nonsense. Wyatt was a pureblood, too... but he didn't really understand the obsession over it. Knowledge made one superior, not the purity of one's blood.
Eventually, Wyatt had gotten tired of his friends and decided to go inside, so he could get on with studying. He was a regular in the library, and, being one of Slughorn's favorite students, he even had a free pass into the Restricted Section for the whole term.
Leaving his friends behind, Wyatt started inside, never having noticed the girl at the other end of the courtyard. He never would have even known she was there if she hadn't crashed into him on the way to the door.
He looked down at her, raising one eyebrow in interest. She was pretty cute. The colors of her robes indicated that she was a Ravenclaw, and the book in her hands told him she was a bookworm. But what he noticed most of all was the blush on her cheeks.
"It's fine, really," he said smoothly. "I hope your thoughts were interesting, at least, and that you weren't just thinking about going to have a sandwich."

Completely frozen in the moment she needed to refocus so she took a deep breath pulling her out of the daze she was in. It was not like her to get over whelmed by some boy just because of his good looks. Frowning at his statement about her thoughts being just about eating she raised her eye brow curiously. Taking notice of the green color in his robes she knew he was in Slytherin and she suspected by his good looks and the way he talked to her, so calm and collected, he was used to getting girls to fall all over him. She wasn't that kind of girl. In fact she had no interest in wasting time on boys.
Girls were always crying in the common room about some boy who did this and some boy who did that. She did not want to be one of those girls who cried over a boy. “N-No, I was not thinking about a sandwich.” She sighed frustrated with herself for stuttering. “My thoughts are always interesting thank you. I was on my way to the library to get a new book and I was thinking about which one. “
She looked up at him pausing a moment before she spoke. “I will try to keep my thoughts about eating a sandwich for when I bump into other people.” She did not like that he made her thoughts scatter and her head go all foggy. It would only lead to trouble.

Wyatt let out a laugh. One thing he had found with Ravenclaw girls--they were usually shy, but they had keen minds if you could coax them out of their shells. Actually, he found that kind of fun.
"Well, good, I'm glad to hear that. I wouldn't want you to crash into me for no reason. But if you're thinking deep thoughts about libraries and books, then I can certainly forgive you. As a matter of fact, I was just heading to the library myself. Why don't we walk together?"
He cocked one eyebrow at her and offered her his arm to take.

Arabelle raised an eye brow at him. She was not so sure he really intended to go hang out in the library. Most slytherin boys or boys for that matter did not spend too much time in the library just for a fondness of books.
Her eyes traveled down to the arm he was holding out for her to take. She should just head back to the common room before gets herself in trouble. Tucking her loose stands of hair behind her ears she relents sliding her arm in his and she can feel that oh so familiar heat spreading across her cheeks.
“And what are you going to the library for? I’m Arabelle by the way”

Wyatt laughed at the skeptical look on her face. He was actually quite used to that look. He got it from his friends, from the girls who all seemed to hang all over him... even from teachers. Slytherin boys, especially the attractive ones, did not often spend their leisure time in the library. But he wasn't the typical Slytherin boy, and he was quite proud of that fact.
"It's nice to meet you, Arabelle. I'm Wyatt."
He hesitated for a moment, not out of nervousness, but for dramatic effect. As he spoke, he leaned closer to her and whispered, "I'm doing some extra work to help out Professor Slughorn, and I have an unlimited pass to the Restricted Section," he replied, smiling easily. "Not that I use if for anything bad or anything..." he added with a suggested lift of his eyebrow. "It's strictly work-related, of course."
This was a blatant lie. Yes, there really was a project he was helping Professor Slughorn with, and it did require the use of the Restricted Section. But Wyatt didn't always stick strictly to the Potions-related materials. How could he help himself? But despite having read a lot about dark magic, Wyatt didn't really feel the need to practice it. He just liked learning about it.

Arabelle grinned widely up at him “Nice to bump into you Wyatt.” She was starting to feel more relax and more like her again. However once he leaned down to whisper her whole body went a bit stiff. She normally was not bothered by boys but this one was different and it made her nervous. That feeling was not something she was particularly fond of. Once she heard him mention the restricted section he could feel her body relax. She perked up looking up at him her bright eyes flashing with excitement.
“You? You have access to the restricted section?” He could hear the excitement and undertones of jealousy in her voice as she spoke to him. “I have been dying to get my hands on Moste Potente Potions and Fifteenth-Century Fiends. Have you read them yet? Of course you have. Who wouldn't want to read them if they had access to it? What kind of books have you read?” Her eyes stayed locked on his and she realized she had begun to ramble again. She smiles up at him “Sorry I tend to just keep talking and talking until something shuts me up. Have I scared you off yet?”
She was quite looking forward to their trip to the library now. At least something good would come out of embarrassing herself today. Although using him to get books from the restricted section would be wrong of her. It would be breaking the rules after all but that might be partly what excited her.

Wyatt's grin widened. He actually didn't mind the babbling or the blushing, because it was clear that she wasn't just some air-headed ninny, like most of the Slytherin girls he knew. Sometimes he wasn't sure many of them even knew how to open a book, let alone read it. That was why he liked to talk to Ravenclaw girls... they were more on his level. Sure, he still thought he was superior, but at least he could have a conversation with them without feeling his brain cells dying with shame.
"I've read both of them," he said in another conspiratorial whisper. "I've used Moste Potente Potions quite often, actually. I need it for the project I'm helping Slughorn with. I can show it to you, if you want..." He winked at her, then continued walking toward the stairs.

It was clear by the expression on Arabelle’s face that she desperately wanted to take a look at it. She followed him towards the stairs contemplating if she should take him up on his offer. Slytherins were not known for doing something out of the kindness of their heart. Sure, they would help someone on occasion but it was normally aimed towards helping themselves in the end. Wyatt was not like most Slytherin boys she had met and he seemed to have actually read the books.
“I don’t want to get you in trouble for showing me...” She looked up at him with a small smile and rolled her eyes at herself shaking her head. “I guess just one tiny peek. What could it hurt?” She had been dying to get into the restricted section and get a hold of that book since her second year how could she pass up seeing it now? She grinned at him and picked up her pace towards the library.

Whenever Wyatt asked a Slytherin girl if she wanted to "have a peek at the Restricted Section," they would giggle and reply eagerly, but not for the reasons that Arabelle was thinking of. With them, books were the very last things on their minds. And while that could be fun, too, Wyatt couldn't help but feel a greater admiration for this girl and her quest for knowledge.
He wasn't about to tell this girl that he had brought several other girls to the Restricted Section, especially since the others hadn't been there to actually look at books. Instead, he gave her an easy smile. "Don't worry about it. But is there something in the book you particularly want to look at? A potion you've been dying to make? We shouldn't be back there too long. The librarian checks every 15 minutes. She won't mind if she just sees me, but you'd have to hide."

“Well I think just looking at it would be enough” Arabelle looked up at him sighing as she thought for a moment and then she grinned widely. “However I am interested in looking at Lunaserauem. Did you know that it is supposed to keep transforming Werewolves in control of their senses? I am fascinated with Werewolves.” She looked up at him and took a deep breath as her cheeks turned a soft pink. She was talking too much and to add to it she was talking too much about potions that really never impressed boys.
“Sorry if I am boring you. I am sure I am not the type of girl you normally talk with and I promise I will be quick. I won’t get you in trouble.” She was practically skipping towards the library at this point. Yes she was heading to the restricted section with a cute boy but her focus was more on the books. She was pretty sure Wyatt was doing this to either impress her or to get something from out of her. Either way she was just too excited about the book to think about it now. Besides it kind of worked she was impressed with him after all.

"Ah, werewolves," he said with a wicked smile. "The funny thing about them is that most of them are completely indistinguishable from anyone else when they're in their human forms. You never knew... I could be one, and you'd never know until you saw me in the full moon."
Then, just to tease her a little, he raised his eyebrows at her and curled his lips into a sort of snarl.
"I'm not, though. I'm sure they don't let werewolves attend Hogwarts. Can you imagine how dangerous that would be? Unless, of course, that potion really works..."
He was really enjoying this. He had her hooked, and he knew it. It was almost too easy. And yet, he didn't particularly have any plans for her. He was not exactly innocent, but she wasn't the kind of girl he usually made out with in the restricted section. He saved that for the brain-dead Slytherin girls. But maybe he could just have talk with her for a while. They could talk about books and potions and things. It was something he didn't actually get to do often enough.

Arabelle looked up at his wicked smile and her cheeks lit up as he spoke to her. How could he do that with just looking at her? She let out a soft laugh when he mentioned he might be a werewolf. “I don’t think you are a werewolf but I guess I need to spend the next full moon with you to find out for sure” She smirked at him when he snarled at her and she couldn't help but giggle.
“Well after that snarl I am not sure I can trust you with my well being. I might have to keep my distance from you” She grinned “I doubt there are werewolves at Hogwarts.”
It was nice to talk with someone who would actually listen to what she had to say. Most just let her ramble on and then walked away as quickly as they could. Granted she did at least normally have somewhat interesting conversations but none that actually challenged her. She looked up at the confident look on his face and it made her laugh. He was trouble.

"That's probably good advice, anyway, even if I'm not a werewolf," Wyatt replied with a smirk.
He really hadn't stopped to think about what he was doing yet. He had only just met this girl, but he really kind of liked talking to her. She was lively and clever, something he wasn't used to seeing in the girls he usually hung around with. And he kind of liked the way her cheeks turned pink when he teased her. Slytherin girls never blushed.
Wyatt was never someone who cared much about reputation. After all, he was already different from most of the other Slytherins, in that he actually cared about his classes and his grades. When he was younger, that often made him the object of ridicule among his housemates. But now, he was popular for purely shallow reasons, which just proved to him how little it mattered. So if he wanted to hang out with Ravenclaw girls, he would do it. And right now, he rather liked hanging out with this one.
They had reached the library, and Wyatt stopped at the door. "OK, listen," he said. "You go in first, and pick a table in the back of the stacks, if you can. I'll wait five minutes, then go in and show my pass to the librarian. Once I get to the restricted section, you can come in. Only I can touch the books, though. I'll hold the book and you can look at it."

Well he was right about one thing. She should stay away from him werewolf or no. He had trouble written all over him. She just hadn’t figured out what kind of trouble. Still she didn’t really want to stay away from him. Okay, stop being one of those girls. She thought to herself. She hardly knew anything about him but she did know his type. He was interested in her because she was not interested in him. She needs to just go to the library, look at the book and then be on her way. No harm done.
Once they reached the library he could see that she could barely keep still from her excitement. Her eyes met his as he spoke to her as she took a deep breath “Okay, Okay I’ll behave. No touching I promise” She grinned up at him as she pulled her arm from where she linked it with his earlier and she headed into the library. She walked towards one of the tables in the back that was empty and sat down facing the restricted section. Pulling her book out of her coat she tried to look busy until he let her know it was all clear.
Who was she kidding this wouldn’t be the last time she went into the restricted section with him. She hid her heated cheeks behind her books pages and waited.

Wyatt leaned against the wall and stood there, silently counting out five minutes. Only one student came out of the library during that time, and he quickly adjusted his position to look as though he had lost something in his bag.
Once the five minutes were up, Wyatt pulled out his permission letter from Professor Slughorn--not that he needed it anymore--and walked into the library. He held up the letter for the librarian and she glanced at it quickly, then waved him past.
He wound his way slowly toward the restricted section, stopping at the tables in the back. He found her there, hiding behind a book, and he set his bag down on the table in front of her before holding his finger to his lips, and nodding at her to follow him.

She peered over her book every now and then looking around her. As if everyone else in the library knew what she was up to. They knew she was waiting for someone to sneak her into the restricted section. She was not really one for breaking the rules and it did make her a bit nervous. Her eyes followed Wyatt as he showed his permission slip and then made his way towards her. She could feel her heart beating a bit faster the closer he got to her. Glancing up at him as he stands near her he could see her grin in her eyes even though he couldn't see her smile.
She could feel her nerves slowly fading as she looked up at him. It was a bit exciting breaking the rules even if she wouldn't say that to Wyatt. Placing her book on the table she stood up next him. She did not even notice that she had slid her hand in his and laced her fingers with his. She looked up at him and couldn't help up grin widely as she followed him into the restricted section.

There was always something about getting a Ravenclaw to break the rules that was strangely exciting to Wyatt. Slytherins and Gryffindors broke rules easily, without a second thought. He didn't associate with many Hufflepuffs, but Ravenclaws were always interesting to hang around. They were smart and usually filled with ideas and opinions, but they were also usually bookworms who were afraid to step out of their comfort zones. But even they had their limits, and it was always interesting to see how they reacted when put in a different situation. Arabelle seemed to be enjoying it, and he had to admit he liked the grin on her face and the way she slipped her hand in his. And to think they had only just met!
He said nothing as he led her to the restricted section. It was best not to talk and possibly call attention to themselves. But when they came to the rope that blocked off the section from those who didn't have permission, he leaned in close to her ear and spoke.
"In order for us both to pass the rope, you'll have to get very close behind me as I walk in. Hold on to me and walk as close behind me as possible. Can you do that?"

Arabelle had been so excited about the book she was not even paying attention to their hands locked together. It did not really bother her that she was breaking a rule although it should bother her. She glanced up towards Wyatt’s eyes as he whispered in her ear and it wasn’t until he said hold on to him that she noticed she had been holding his hand. Oh, Good. Keep acting like a dink around him. She slowly released his hand and shifting uncomfortably as goose bumps spread on her arms. She was not so sure holding onto him would be a good idea after their hand holding. How was she supposed to hold onto him anyway?
She peeked around them as if someone had heard what he whispered into her ear. Her eyes settled back on his and she gave him a small smile. She took a deep breath and whispered back to him “Hold onto you how?” She was still holding her breath when she felt heat spreading from her cheeks to her nose. If she was in Gryffindor her cheeks would match her scarf.

Wyatt turned to her with his most charming smile, the one that some girls claimed could melt butter. This should have been her warning, because she most certainly was not the first, nor would she be the last girl to be taken in by that smile. He may not have had any ill intentions at the moment, but other girls had been burned by him in the past, whether he planned it or not.
But one thing he was fully aware of was his effect on girls. He'd learned from watching his fellow Slytherin boys, and by now he had quite a lot of practice.
"Do you trust me?" he asked, raising an eyebrow at her.
