It was June who finally decided on Enchanted. You couldn't lose, she figured- dancing, drinks, good music, good company. Besides, she loved clubs, and Talon never took her dancing. He didn't like dancing, and he didn't like crowds. She wondered, briefly, as she waited in the apparition area if he was going to be angry when she came home late. Or worse, would he just not care? It was that apathy that always killed her.
Her robes and her cloak had been shoved in her locker in the back, which she rarely used. Luckily, for whatever reason she couldn't remember, there had been a little black dress in that locker from probably months ago, and she took a little time to make herself look nice for the evening. Even if it was just drinks with friends, and maybe a dance or two.
She looked down the hall again, amused that she was somehow the first one ready to leave.

Gary arrived a few minutes later, dressed in jeans and a button-down shirt. He usually kept several changes of clothes in his locker, since he had to work with muggles. He needed to be able to blend in with them and set them at ease, rather than standing out.
Luckily, his afternoon had been uneventful, and he spent the day writing up reports on some of the recent incidents. It made the day pass rather slowly, but at least he wasn't too late to meet the others.
As he rounded the corner to the apparation area, he saw June standing there waiting and almost stopped in his tracks. June really was a beautiful woman, and if Gary thought that she had any interest in him besides friendship, he wouldn't hesitate to try for her. He just hoped that Talon realized just how lucky he was to have her.
Breaking into a smile, he walked the rest of the way down the hall and stopped in front of her. "You look gorgeous," he told her. "Way too pretty to be hanging with a couple of schlubs like Brady and me."

"Speak for yourself," Brady said as he appeared beside Gary. Like Gary, sometimes Brady's job required him to wear muggle clothes and he had clothes in his locker. Jeans and a shirt that he couldn't remember buying.
He had already noticed June as he was walking up. His reaction was similar to Gary's, in the sense that she did look gorgeous. Turning his attention to June, he smiled at her. "And like Gary said, you do look gorgeous." Brady wasn't exactly used to this sort of thing but he was going to attempt to try. There was a first time for everything, right?

A smile lit up June's face as she met Gary's eyes, and he complimented her. She waved this off, even though she really liked compliments like that. What girl wouldn't? "Nah, I'm the lucky one here," she told him. "You and Brady are way too much fun to hang out with a girl like me. But thank you."
She wanted to thank him for this, going out with all of them tonight, but would that seem weird?
"Hey, listen... I know we're going to try and get Brady kind of hammered. But I'll try not to drink too much, so you can have a little fun too, okay?"
When Brady appeared, June just smiled at Gary, letting the conversation drop. She thanked Brady, too, and then said, "Okay, let's blow this joint, yeah?"

"Sounds like a plan," Gary said quietly, nodding at June. He didn't say so, but he also hoped that she would have fun tonight. He had the feeling that she needed it, but he couldn't put his finger on why. It would have seemed strange that she had not mentioned bringing Talon along, except that he rather remembered her telling him once that Talon did not like dancing.
"All right," he said, looking over at Brady. "Meet you there."
With that, he apparated, and reappeared in front of the club, where a long line had started to form.

Nodding to Gary, Brady looked back to June. It was strange considering she wasn't inviting that thing of hers to come along too. He hoped that she didn't plan on meeting him there. He didn't think he could handle being around him.
Brady wasn't sure if this whole idea of him drinking was a good idea but as long as June was having fun, that's all he cared about. "I'll see you in a few," he said after clearing his throat. He gave her a smile.

June gave Brady a cheeky look and said, "Race you?" She raised an eyebrow, and a second later, the pop sounded as she disappeared, reappering next to Gary.
It struck her that if she let herself drink too much tonight, Gary and Brady would both probably have to respond to the name "Grady." Although she promised Gary she wouldn;t drink too much, she still figured as long as she could sober up by the end of the night, she could have fun early on.
She appeared next to Gary, glancing at the long line. "When Brady gets here, we're bypassing that line. I have powers."

It was his intention to let June go first. He was hoping that June would be in a good mood all night. Brady apparated a second after June. Arriving at Enchanted, he sighed. He wasn't even sure how well things were going tonight. Not only had Brady not drank to get drunk, he never danced. He never had any need to dance. If June wanted him to dance at all, that would fairly interesting although he wasn't exactly going to volunteer.
Appearing next to June and Gary, he noted all of the people. This was going to be an interesting night indeed. Brady placed his hands in his pockets. "Is the line always long?"

"Yes, it is," June replied, and she instinctively took Brady's hand led him away from the line, knowing that Gary would follow.
"And yet, I never stand in it." Sometimes, it was really nice being a girl. On her way towards the bouncer, she tugged the hem of her dress up and pulled the top down just to show off a little more skin, not even considering that either of the boys with her would notice it. And in front of the bouncer, she put on a very flirty smile, letting go of Brady's hand.
After a couple of minutes, the bouncer stepped aside to the tune of, "They're with me, too. Thanks so much," and the trio was inside the club with no hassle.
"What did I tell you? Powers."

Gary did, in fact, catch the way she hitched up her skirt and pulled her top a little lower, and he knew exactly what she was doing. He actually found it all very amusing, and he was having a hard time not laughing as she approached the bouncer. Men could say whatever they wanted about how powerful they were, but Gary knew, as June did, that women had powers that men did not; powers that could get men to do absolutely anything. Gary almost pitied the poor bouncer.
"Very impressive," he said, grinning. "I bet you never have to pay for drinks, either."

June turned and looked at Gary over her shoulder, shrugging. "Not usually, no," she said, her smile a bit mischevious. Hey, she always said that girls had an unfair advantage over guys- if they couldn't get what they wanted by being smart, they could get it by being dumb. June wasn't about to complain.
"Speaking of drinks...." she said, trailing off and glancing at Brady. "I'm ready for an early start. Anyone want anything?" She was talking louder now, the music fighting her to drown out her voice.

Brady watched June with a confused look on his face. He had to it admit it was impressive that a lot of girls could get what they wanted by showing a little something extra.
Losing the confused expression as June turned back to him, Brady wasn't sure what to get to drink. He wasn't a big fan of firewhiskey so that would be out of the picture. His curiousity quickly turned to the other people around them. A lot of people were dancing already, a few already at the bar drinking. Brady felt a little out of place. "Rum," he spoke up looking to June. He heard a man order it before, so it couldn't be too bad, could it? One drink wasn't going to hurt him right now.

June actually laughed at this. "Rum, huh? Why don't we start you off easy. This place has to have like, rum and coke. I'm certain of it." It couldn't be all magical drinks, right?
She turned her head to look over her other shoulders, eyes sparkling as she met Gary's gaze, silently conveying that they were going to have a lot of fun with Brady tonight. "What about you? We can take these to one of the booths. It's quieter over there, anyway. But I will probably make one of you dance with me later."

Gary grinned and looked over to see who was behind the bar. He recognized the blonde barmaid and grinned. "Yeah, get him a rum and coke. She'll make it for him. I'll just take a glass of firewhiskey."
Turning back to Brady, he nudged his friend. "I can't speak for him, but I promise I'll dance with you whenever you want. We might need to get him good and plastered before he starts dancing, though."

Dancing? That was just something Brady wasn't used to. He knew that he would more than likely look more so out of place if June dragged him out but he knew she would probably do it anyway.
At Gary's comment, he rolled his eyes. Brady mumbled something then stuck his hands in his pockets. After a few drinks, Brady would be much more relaxed than he was right now but he didn't know that at the moment. He looked between the two. "I'm not much of a dancer," he said. In fact, Brady hadn't danced with anyone before. Again, the whole club thing wasn't usually a place he would go on his own accord.

June nodded and weaseled her way up to the bar, ordering the three drinks. She was still chuckling about him asking for just rum, and half tempted to get it for him.
But no, she'd start him out easy.
In a couple of minutes, she had three drinks, and turned around to the two boys with her, handing each a glass as she grabbed her own. Nodding to the booths, she said, "Let's go grab one of those tables while we can."

For a moment, Brady hoped that no one from his department came across him while they were there. Oh that wouldn't be a good day in the office after that. Once June returned, he took his glass from her and he felt strangely awkward holding a glass. Brushing it off, Brady started to head toward one of the booths to take a seat before it became really crowded.
He had a feeling that tonight was going to be one heck of a night. If June asked him to dance Brady couldn't say no to her because he knew she would give him a look. If he did dance, which was a big if at the moment, he knew that he'd be stiff and awkward seeing as he had never done it before. Maybe winding down and being relaxed wouldn't be so bad.

"Oh, relax, Brady," Gary said, noticing his friend's uncertain expression. He would have clapped Brady on the back if there hadn't been too great a risk of having him spill his drink all over himself. "Just drink up, and I promise you, pretty soon you'll be ready to get up and boogie, as the Yanks like to say."
Brady's problem, Gary decided, was that he cared too much about what other people thought of him. Which was stupid, really. You never had to please anyone but yourself in life. That was the decision Gary had made.
But as they sat down at the table, Gary allowed himself to get distracted from his friend's plight. Instead, he began looking around the dance floor, checking to see if there were any girls he could flirt with.

It wasn't that Brady worried about what other people thought about him exactly. He was just sort of out on his own and he always kept to himself. The most he ever talked was either around June or sometimes Gary. Other than that, he didn't speak much. New things being brought in, Brady took a little bit to take it in.
He didn't say anything as he turned up his glass to take a drink. The rum and coke wasn't too bad. Tonight he wasn't going to be boring. If he did he felt sure that Gary would attempt to do something about it and he wasn't sure what he would come up with. Brady would relax tonight, if he could figure out how.
He could try to have fun, right? Knowing what Gary was looking around for, Brady looked around and noticed a brunette. "What about the brunette," he asked looking to Gary.

"Why, you have a thing for brunettes?" June asked Brady, her eyes catching the girl just after Brady pointed her own. She didn't mean or realize how flirty this came out, especially since she was a brunette herself.
She watched the girl for a moment and shrugged. "She's pretty. You should try for her, Brady. I also saw Gary as more of the blonde type. But I could be wrong."
She smiled, her eyes turning to Gary. "Seriously, guys. Go have fun, if you see someone. I won't mind. Just remember to save a dance for me."
