At his last class the students had worked on Summoning Charms, today Carlisle planned to teach them the counter-charm; Banishing. Again he had prepared his practicum lesson using jars. He cast an unbreakable spell on them, so there would be less to clean up. He waited at his desk for his students to arrive. He had his attendance scroll opened and would check the names off as they came in.

Sam was a little off put when she discovered she was the first one to show up for class, but it didn't matter really and she gave the professor a wide smile, at least she wasn't late this time, "Morning professor." she said dipping into a curtsy before glancing around for a seat.

Kat walked in soon after Sam had, "Hey Professor Macrae," She said. She walked over to a seat the was set somewhere in the middle. "Hey Sam." She addressed the Slytherin girl.

Sam nodded towards Kat in a friendly manner, but she already had her book out going over different things that they would probably learn today, she felt better when she had acquainted herself with the material beforehand. So after nodding her head went back down to her book.

Sophia with her nose in a book entered the Charms classroom she lowered her book to greet the professor before taking a seat and bringing the book back up to her nose.
It wasn't necessarily a school book, or any sort of non-fiction for that matter. She was reading The Illiad in the original greek text and tanslating in her head. Really the original text was far more interesting than the translated one she was finding half the fun was uncovering the translation, figuring out the puzzle.
As she waited for the class to start she was heartily amused with her translating adventure and as usual didn't really notice anyone else in the class.

Roman entered the room and only glanced briefly at the teacher. SHe didn't really remember his name, but she surely wouldn't be using it. ROman never answered questions, so why should she start now.
She swept her eyes over the class, and she noticed two girls she'd seen before. One was a girl with longer dark hair and the other was lighter. Some new girl was reading the untranslated version of the Illiad. It was pretty good, Roman knew, from a previous reading.
But instead of saying anything, she just sat in the back and looked at her books.

Kassia entered the room with a winsome smile for the professor. She was in a strangely good mood today and couldn't put her finger on it. Perhaps it had something to do with her dreams last night, and the night before, she had been having such strange dreams really.
Sighing she made her way to a seat the only other Slytherin in the room was Samantha so she went to sit by her, but did as the girl was doing and pulled out her Charms book.

Alenna walked into the classroom with a small skip in her step. She adressed the teacher, "Good Morning Professor Macrae," she said cheerfully. The five students that were in class already were strewn around the classroom, but Lennie was social and didn't want to sit alone.
The two Slytherin girls were sitting together, and she recalled Sophie, but the girl was deep in her reading and Alenna didn't want to disrupt her, that would be rude. In the back was a Gryffindor girl who Alenna vaguely recalled but didn't know very well. Perfect. She went to the back and took a seat next to the petiete blonde girl. "Hi, I'm Alenna," She introduced herself. "Or Lennie, whichever, doesn't matter much," She held out her hand, a kind gesture.

Sofie waved at Alenna when she finally realized the girl was there but Alenna was already headed to the back of the room. Sophia sighed, well sure it would have been nice if someone had sat next to her but sh ehad to take her nose out of a book to see people if she was ever to accomplish that goal.

Roman blinked at the girl. She was so outgoing and friendly. Maybe she mistook her for someone who would be like her, and older. It was a nice gesture, and Roman couldn't help but give a very small smile, "I'm Roman. Roman Jetter."
She held out her hand lightly and took Alenna's, or Lennie's, and shook it, "ce ve?" She asked in a small voice. She retraced her steps and took a deep breathe, "I mean," she stumbled, forgetting she wasn't in France. "What's up? I'm sorry, I don't really say much. I keep forgetting I'm not at home-" Roman felt liek she was saying too much, and shut up with a slight blush on her face.

Alenna shook Roman's hand. Her voice was small and shy, but Alenna didn't mind. When she heard her speak french, Alenna smiled st the girl's explaination. She understood, when she was home with her dad, they spoke spanish.
"It's alright, are you new here? I haven't seen you around?"

"Uhm, yes. I used to attend Beauxbatons... But I left. My family moved her so my brother could attend school..." Roman mumbled, looking at her hands. "I don't really know many people."
Alenna seemed quite friendly, and Roman liked her well enough so far. SHe wondered if the only reason she was taking to her was because Alenna secretly was an axe murderer.
She hoped not.

"You have a brother? Does he go to Hogwarts?" Alenna asked curiously. "I have three siblings, but they are all too young for Hogwarts." She thought about them with her parents all the way back in Boston. She realized that it was likely they'd go to the American magic school, butLennie hoped not, she liked having her siblings around.

Roman squirmed a bit in her seat, and contemplated her answer, as to not give too much away. She didn't know much about Alenna's beliefs, and she decided with the answer, "he's in France. I'm sorry you're siblings won't be attending with you are here. You seem to be fond of them."

"I love them yes," Alenna sighed. "But I do sometimes like the solidarity I have here. And even though Theo, the oldest of my younger siblings, is starting school next year, I will have already graduated." she sighed again.
"France? That's really far," granted, Theo, Luthor, and Ameria were in Boston, even farther away. "How come you're not at Beaubaxtons?"
((I spelt that wrong....sorry))

Carlisle was pleased to see many of his students had arrived early. He welcomed them all as they came in, marking their names on his attendance scroll for the few he remembered, asking the others to remind him who they were.
They were a chatty group, but Carlisle blocked out their conversations. He needed to focus on his lesson plan for today and listening to adolescent ramblings would not help him with his goal. He was sure nothing out of the ordinary was going on so he said nothing.

"I'm sorry," Roman muttered. "But at least you'll be able to tell him all about your experience, correct? But I'm not Beauxbatons because my brother goes to school closer to here, and it's better if I'm closer. He starts English boarding school next month."
She looked away shyly, trying to avoid the subject of her brother.

Laura entered the Charms classroom and took a moment to survery the room. So far, the only students who had arrived early were girls- big surprise there. She noticed a few students she had met before, including Roman who was sitting with a Ravenclaw girl Laura wasn't familiar with. She was happy that Roman was engaging in conversation and coming out of her shell. With a smile on her face, she walked down the aisle of tables and sat at the back of the room and got out her books.

Theo strolled into the classroom with his hands in his pockets. He nodded his head at Professor Macrae and noticed that he was the only guy to show up as of yet. Noticing Laura in the back of the class, he grinned to himself, remembering their encounter by the fire last week. He had been disappointed that they hadn't had more time to talk, and had since been trying to find a reason to talk to her.
"Hey," he said smoothly as he settled next to her. "Mind if I sit here?" He figured that she wouldn't mind, but decided to ask anyways in case she was saving it for someone else.

"Not at all," she smiled back. Laura had been skimming her textbook when he approached and felt something akin to joy when she saw his friendly face. She moved her bag out of the way so he could sit, and resolutely closed her book.
