Marcy's laughter was contagious. Noah started laugh as well. "Taking it slow will be good. I still need to save up a little more money." He had a feeling had anyone been listening to their conversation, it would have been interesting for sure.
The school idea was a serious one. There were a lot of children who had no idea what magic was. There were a lot that would be frightened about things just happening and they didn't know how it was happening. Then there were the parents. A lot of the parents had jobs and they needed someone to take care of their children. Noah had always wanted to do something like that. The readings at the library were the only way he was doing that right now.
"Ah, I dunno 'bout that. Your artwork could be the best and any artwork is more than likely better than mine."

"You know," Marcy said slowly as an idea occurred to her. "If you're really serious about the school, I might know of a guy who can help you with the money aspect of it. His name is Cale Robbins... I've never met him personally, but from what I've heard, he's a wizard, and he has a lot of money... old money, you know, and he likes to invest in charitable causes. This is just exactly the sort of thing he's supposed to like. Maybe you could write to him. But you should have a few plans and ideas in mind for how to start it and what to do there."

Noah didn't really like the idea that he would be asking for someone for money but then again he wouldn't really be asking for money for himself. He would be trying to fund a school. "Cale Robbins," Noah repeated the name. "Maybe I'll do that. I could use as much help as possible to start it and I already have a few ideas on how the school would go. Of course there would be the need to have other people working there as well, but there could be an interview process before hand once I can get everything started."
Noah had toyed with the idea of a school and he knew how he wanted to get it started and how they would have it set up. He just needed the funds for it as well as the other people to help.
"I'll owl him soon and see if he would want to meet to discuss it." He smiled at Marcy. "You know, you've helped me out a lot today and I appreciate it."

Marcy ate a little more of her ice cream as he was talking. It was quite amazing how he had taken the idea and run with it. She could tell he was a man of ideals and he had the strength of character to follow through with them as well. It was impressive, and it made her like him that much more.
"If you did start a school, what kind of classes would you offer? Would it be like a muggle school, with math and science and history, but for the children of wizards and witches?"

"It will be something similar to that. Of course the younger children will have the classrooms that have the finger painting and all the creativity things. The older children will still have the muggle history classes and all of that. I think it will be a mixture of wizarding history and muggle history. They will be able to take both classes. Of course they need to take the regular classes like children their own age but it will be a lot easier for them because they will have children like them around. They won't have to worry about something happening like them moving something magically or something like that and having everyone be scared of them. It will give them exposure to the wizarding world."
Noah did think critically about how he was going to open the school. He knew the type of people that needed to work there.
"The teachers and the others who work there have to be accepting of the children no matter what background they come from. They have to be willing to help the children with anything. Over all, they have to be people that the children trust and are willing to talk to."

"You're just full of ideas, aren't you?" Marcy teased.
She liked that about him. He was taking a simple comment that she had made and was running with it. And it was a good idea. Such a school was needed, for all the children with working parents, who needed a place to send their kids during the day. And a muggle education would help balance them out and make them more understanding of muggles and muggleborns.
"Well, if you need any help planning things out, let me know. I might just be able to provide some assistance."

Noah gave a shy like smile when she teased him. He rubbed the back of his head as he gave a laugh. "Yeah, I guess." When it came to ideas, he never knew when one was going to hit him. It could hit him anywhere and he would expand on that idea to see where he could go.
"Oh I'm sure that I will need assistance in planning stuff out." He gave her a sheepish look. Noah was one to just throw it in a pile. He wasn't always the most organized person. Giving her a wink Noah rested his arms on the table.
"My, I have found the right person," he said with a light teasing tone, "someone to draw for me so the children won't have to look at my stick people and horrible dinosaurs and dragons, and someone to help me plan. Apparently luck was in my stars today, hm?"

Marcy giggled. It was sort of an exciting concept, to be involved with something that could make such a difference in children's lives. And it didn't even seem to matter that she barely even knew this guy... she felt like she had known him forever.
"Well, if you do go through with it, I'll definitely be there. Someone has to make sure you don't embarrass yourself with your terrible drawing skills."
She twirled her spoon around on her tongue playfully, watching him. "So tell me, Noah. What else do you like to do with yourself besides tell stories to kids, draw really bad pictures, and crash into strange girls at art shops?"

"Well thank you Marcy. I'm glad that the children do not have to suffer any longer." Noah laughed.
"Wow, I didn't know I could be summed up so quickly," he teased. "Other than telling children stories, drawing badly, working at the Ministry, and crashing into strange girls, I like to go running every now and again. I have to keep in shape if I'm going to be keeping up with children, especially the younger ones. However, the bad thing of it is, I love junk food so I'm not really sure how good the running is really doing."

Marcy giggled. She hadn't been around a guy who made her laugh as much as Noah did in quite a while. She liked that... far too often these days, guys took themselves too seriously. She liked a guy who could joke around and laugh at himself. A good sense of humor was one of the traits she looked for in a guy.
"Well, you know, the way I see it, the exercise and the junk food cancel each other out. As long as you exercise regularly, you can eat whatever you want. Although you should never eat too much of anything... a little indulgence goes a long way. Anyway, from where I sit... you're doing just fine."

"Maybe that's why I never gain or lose weight." Noah gave a thoughtful look before his smile returned. "Although, I can eat and eat. I'm not going to lie I eat, a lot. If I go out for dinner, I usually get a whole plate worth of stuff and before I leave, it's all gone. And I'm not really that healthy of an eater."
It hit Noah how much he was really starting to like Marcy. She was funny. Her laughter, especially from when he ran into her. She made what could have been an embarrassing moment to something that was completely worth laughing at.
"What kind of food do you like?"

Marcy was good at making people feel at ease. That was why she was so good at her job... she had to greet people when they visited the Ministry. Her smile and her warmth and sense of humor always made people feel comfortable at a time when they might be nervous or uncertain about something. Most guests to the Ministry were having a problem with something, or they were there to do something that they didn't really want to do. If Marcy could make the experience a little more pleasant for them, then she felt that she had done her job.
"Well, as you can probably tell, I have a really bad sweet tooth. If it's sweet, I love it. Ice cream, chocolate, cheesecake, pie, cookies... you name it. I have to exercise a lot, too, or I'd probably be 400 pounds. Although I'm not so much into running. I've been doing this new thing called aerobics. It's sort of like dancing, but more focused. I take a class 4 days a week."

"Hm, cheesecake and chocolate, I'll keep all of this in mind." Noah winked. Marcy was going to end up being a great friend, that was for sure, however, he thought maybe he could ask her out for dinner one night. While she seemed like a girl that would like flowers, Noah thought he was going to get more creative. Flowers seemed a little generic. Maybe he could bring her something sweet and then ask.
"Aerobics huh? Sounds like fun. Usually I like to go running, in hopes that I'll end up running into someone who laughs at the fact that I run into them. Turns out all I had to do was walk into the art store for that one, huh?"

Marcy was starting to really like him, too. Well, maybe not starting. She'd liked him almost immediately, but the longer she spent talking to him, the more she liked him. He really was one of those people that it felt like she had known forever.
"Aerobics is... well, kind of dorky. You have to follow the instructors movements. I like to pretend I'm dancing, though, and it helps keep me loose. Do you like dancing?"

"Only if everyone in the room is blindfolded or if I'm in a room alone," he said with a wide grin. "I usually don't go dancing in public, but I do like to dance in my room in front of my mirror with the door shut and my muggle stereo on wide open. I think I've improved on my bad dancing skills." Noah winked.
"I'm only kidding." He let out a laugh. "I haven't really had an excuse to go out dancing before. I have done it before, but that's about it. I only went out because I was sort of dragged out by a group of buddies from school."

Marcy giggled at the image of him dancing in a room full of blindfolded people. "I'm sure you're not that bad," she said. "And even if you are, who cares? It's supposed to be fun, right? No one ever said you had to be Fred Astaire. Maybe we could try and go dancing sometime."
Had she just asked him out? The idea made her blush. He was really bringing out the bold side of her. "I mean... if you wanted to, that is."

Marcy's blush made Noah grin widely. "Are you asking me out," he asked attempting to just ease her blushing. "Of course I would love to go dancing with you. I might just surprise you with my amazing skills. After all, practicing all the time hopefully has worked."
She was bold. Never had a girl been the one to ask anything like that. Noah had to say that he liked this idea that Marcy was a bit bold. There was going to be a complete equalness in their relationship, wherever it would take them to just being friends or somewhere else.
"We could try this dancing thing very soon."

A slight giggle escaped Marcy's mouth. It was sort of a nervous, hysterical giggle, and she self-consciously clapped her hand over her mouth in an attempt to stifle it.
Marcy did like to think of herself as being rather bold, but this... well, she was surprised at herself. She had never, ever asked a boy out before. It had never even occurred to her to do so. But really, when she thought about it, why not? Why should girls just have to sit back and wait for guys to ask them out? Some guys, Marcy had learned, you could spend forever just waiting for them to get the hint. Well, maybe it didn't have to be that way. Maybe this could be the start of a trend--girls asking guys out instead of sitting back and fluttering their eyelashes like some kind of doll.
"Yeah, I guess maybe I am," Marcy replied, her voice sounding stronger. "Why don't we try this dancing thing this weekend? Friday night at 8?"

"Friday night at 8, it's a date," Noah said with confidence. "And that was the strangest rhyme I have ever said." He let out a laugh. "Friday night will be a great night. We'll have fun unwinding from the week."
Well, asking her on a date for the weekend was already taken care of but that didn't mean that he couldn't stell surprise her with something one day.
"You are a person that is full of surprises, you know that? First I bump into you and you laugh about it, then you offer to draw for me, then you ask me to go dancing with you." Noah smiled. "You're one of my new favorite people."

Marcy giggled. "Nice rhyme," she teased. "Bet you can't do it all the time. Maybe you're a poet and it just took a while to show it."
She laughed so hard at this that she nearly fell off her chair. She honestly couldn't remember the last time she had laughed so much or enjoyed herself so completely. Friday night was going to be a lot of fun, she was very sure of it. And wait until she told Anita about this!
"I think you're my new favorite person, too," she said. "And I would keep rhyming, but I can't think of anything that rhymes with favorite."
