Quincy walked into the great hall and felt millions of eyes watching him. But, carefree as he was, he simply smiled and walked along with the other students, waiting for his name to be called. He knew how this whole sorting thing went, his brother told him. Name gets called, you put on the dusty old talking hat, he tells you where to sit and then you're sitting there for the next 7 years. no big deal.
Finally his name was called and he made his way to the front of the hall, spinning around and taking a seat before the hat slipped over his eyes.

Chance wasn't nervous in the least. In fact, he felt kind of proud as he walked towards the stool. Stupid as the ceremony may be, he sort of thought he knew where he was going to be placed, and if was where he hoped, then he would be among mostly purebloods. It was the best environment for learning, afterall.
He caught a fourth year's eye and winked at her just before the hat slipped over his eyes, and he took in a breath, waiting for the answer.

All the other kids were chattering and giggling around her, but Ingrid never said a word. She just took it all in, watching as each student walked up to the stool, put on the hat, and waited for it to shout out a word. Ingrid was a smart girl; she knew what was going on. But it didn't really matter to her. She didn't care what house she was in. In fact, she didn't really want to be here at all. But Aunt Bonnie had insisted that she have a proper education, and so here she was. And it wasn't like she was really capable of protesting. In her head were lots of words, but she just couldn't make herself say them.
Finally, her name was called and she stepped forward, walking over to the stool. She put the hat on her head and waited for it to shout out its decision.

Hm. Tough one. I'm going with Gryffindor.
(Is it weird when I can't even sort my own characters?)

Post by Leann "Lea" Conley on Aug 29, 2009 20:57:34 GMT -5
Leann, or Lea as she preferred to be called, stood behind a couple of extremely annoying girls. She imagined hissing at them and telling them to shut it. But she didn't feel like saying anything at the moment. She listened to the names being called, waiting to hear something familuar. She stole a glance at the Slytherin table, where she assumed she'd be seated in a few moments, and caught sight of her sister sitting there. She gave her a smug smile then looked up as she heard "Leann Conley" called from the front of the room. Her arms were crossed, her eyes narrowed, and she walked passed the two girls in front of her. Well, saying she shoved past them would be more appropriate. She walked to the stool and sat down, looking bored. She waited patiently as the hat was place atop her head and she sighed, listening to the loud, strong voice.

Micah stood behind a couple of people, trying to peer over there heads to see the hat. He was excited, he hoped he was sorted into Hufflepuff, remembering what his sister had told him she wouldn't speak to him if he was in anything but. He was sure she was joking, but that was the only thing on his mind as he stood waiting. "Micah White!" The hat called, and Micah took a deep breath as he walked up to the hat. He found his sister and gave her a brief smile before moving his eyes up to watch the hat be placed on his head.

Post by Heather Louise White on Sept 6, 2009 23:47:05 GMT -5
Heather stood in line, chatting with some of her fellow students. They were all so interesting! Some were from all wizarding families, and had never even seen the inside of a muggle school. She was getting a little antsy, wishing that they would get to her already. It was so annoying having a last name that began with a W... she was always one of the last ones called for everything.
By the time they called her name, there were only a few other people in line, and Heather was positively twitching with the need to get out of there. She practically ran over to the stool and grabbed the sorting hat, shoving it down on her head.

Melanie walked up with the rest of the first year students, feeling a little nervous. She continuously stole glances at the Slytherin table at her sister who sat there looking confident. She gave her a smirk and a nod. She visibly jumped when her name was called loudly. She felt a little sick but took a deep breath and tried to forget about the pressure of her parents and family before them. She could just see the disapproving comments if she were placed in something such as Hufflepuff. She walked to the front of the room in front of everyone and sat on the stool. It felt like everything slowed down while she waited for the hat to be placed on her head...

Raven winked at her twin brother and squeezed his arm before making her way up to the sorting stool. She looked at it for a while, trying to figure the hat out before she sat down on the stool and let it choose her fate.

Robin smiled at his sister as she went up to the hat, almost laughing at the way she was staring it down before she put it on.
He frowned slightly when she was put in Ravenclaw, just because he didn't study near enough to think he belonged in that house. But what did he know?
Naturally, he was next to called up, and he sat on the stool, throwing the hat over his eyes almost instantly. "Do your worst," he dared the hat, earning a laugh from a couple of the students close enough to hear him.
