"Follow me," he said. He held her hand and used his wand as a walking stick. He had counted the stairs in the stairwell his first week living here. 15 steps, then another 15, then 12, but the last step squeeked, then 25, but the 10th, 4th, and 2nd from the bottom would occasionally fall through. He told Caitlin this as they went down the stairs and out to the front of the appartment.
"We are going to see London," Roy said. "But," he turned to Caitlin and smiled. "We're going to see London my way." he magicked a pair of what seemed to be sunglasses and offered them to Caitlin. "Only if you trust me of course Cait," Roy knew the general area of London that was around his building like the back of his hand.
That is...if he could SEE the back of his hand.

She held his hand as they went down the stairs. Hearing that Roy knew the steps extremely well made a light smile on Caitlin's face appear. She would follow him just about anywhere.
Stopping when he did, she looked at him curiously. Roy stating that he wanted to go to London was different. He didn't say he wanted to go to different places often but when he did, it was always a good trip. Looking down at the sunglasses he was handing her, Caitlin took them. "Of course I trust you Roy," she said as she put the sunglasses on.
Once they were on, she couldn't see a thing. Never had he asked her to do this before. Caitlin squeezed his hand. He was going to be her guide now instead of the other way around.

"You alright?" Roy asked after she put on the glasses. "I figure it'll take a few moments to get used to." When one of your sences gets cut off, the othe four are heightened. That's why Roy was so talented at music, he could distinctly hear each note, without having to read it.
"Come with me," he took her hand and wrapped it around his arm to guide her along. Then he turned left, and the two headed about a block down. Ahead of them, he could smell the first thing on their tour.

"I'm alright," she responded. It felt odd not being able to see what was in front of her. She didn't know exactly where they were going but she trusted him.
Caitlin held onto Roy's arm as he led her down the street. She thought it was actually sort of sweet that they were doing this. It wasn't every day that someone did this but that was the whole point. She didn't quite understand the entire purpose but she wasn't going to question it.
The smell hit her and she smiled lightly. She was mapping out the street in her head as they walked but she didn't know what Roy had in mind. "Where are we going," she asked curiously.

Two apartment buildings away from Roy's, 36 Roy-sized steps, in a small lot between the buildings, was a small garden, taken care of by a little old lady that had always been really kind to Roy, even after one time he had accidentally stumpled through one of her rose bushes.
That was where he was taking Caitlin now. "Well, I don't know if you've seen it before, Marina didn't realize it was here for the longest time, probably not until the allergies hit her," Roy chuckled. His wand-cane tapped the gate and Roy reached out to open it, listening to see if Mrs. Latrel was working in the garden. He vaugely heard humming toward the back of the garden.
"You don't have allergies do you Caitlin?" Roy asked as he led her inside.

The smell of flowers welcomed her. She had seen the place a few times, especially when the planted flowers had bloomed, however she never stopped and really looked. "I don't really have bad allergies," she said. "It'll be okay."
Caitlin squeezed Roy's arm gently in a reassuring way. She was doing her best not to trip over anything. While they walked inside the garden, she remained close to him, mainly so she wouldn't step off the path.

Roy felt Caitlin walking close to him, and was about to tell her that she didn't have to, that the garden's walk way was wide enough for them both. But he liked the closeness, so he didn't say anything.
"That's good," Roy said. "The smeel here, I swear, is always different. Mrs. Latrel, who owns the garden, is always planting something new." He led her for a little bit until there were in the center of the garden. "Hold on for a second," he said, smiling toward her. He gently removed her hand from his arm and gave it a little squeeze before walking to the back of the garden to tell Mrs. Latrel that he was there with a friend. "I'll be back in a second," he called. The garden wasn't that large. He was sure that, if Caitlin could see, she could see him from where she was standing. But since she was as blind as he was for right now, he didn't want to leave her alone for too long, in case she felt nervous.

When Roy let go, Caitlin felt more alone than usual. It was mainly because she didn't have her sight. Her sight was usually her companion but now she had to rely on her other four senses. She was still getting used to focusing on using those.
Her hands came together in front of her when Roy walked away from her. She could feel him leave and walk a way in front of her. Caitlin did feel sort of nervous but she fiddled with her fingers as she waited for Roy to return. She didn't want to have to take steps on her own because she was scared that if she did, somehow she would end up tripping.

Roy walked over to Mrs. Latrel for a moment to say hi. When she saw the girl not too far behind Roy just sitting there, she patted Roy's hand and handed him a couple tulips that she had just picked to give to Caitlin. Roy felt his face blush, and was glad that, for the moment, Caitlin couldn't see, since it would probably jsut make him blush more.
He walked back (27 steps) to Caitlin. "Hey, Sorry, I was just making sure she didn't think someone was intruding on her precious garden." He gently reached out a hand and laid it on her shoulder. "These are for you," he said. He made a pretty educated guess to where her hand was and placed the flowers in it.

Time seemed to tick by slowly way Roy was gone. It was pretty strange having one of the things she depended on taken away. She had to admit that she had taken her sight for granted. Caitlin wasn't exactly sure how Roy did it, or any other person who were blind.
She heard his footsteps against the walk way and she relaxed when his hand was on her shoulder. Feeling the stems of the tulips touch her hand, Caitlin accepted the flowers and knew that her face had to turn red because she felt her face heat up.
The smell greeted her and she knew right away what flowers they were. A smile crossed her face. "Tulips," she said as tilted her head up a little in the direction she heard his voice. "My favorite. Thank you." Her voice was a little shy and her smile seemed to match her voice.

(I've had a new appreciation for Roy ever since my favorite TV character these days is a blind CIA agent....)
Roy cocked his head to the side at the shyness in her voice. It was only him, she didn't need to be shy. Taking Caitlin's hand and looping it through his arm again. "Come on," he said. "More to see....er, and not see..."
Roy was hardly witty, cheerful, or joking about his blindess. Usually the thought of being blind was a downer for him and made him rather bitter. But Caitlin made him feel so much lighter and happier that he could be a little lighthearted about things that would have usually brought him down.
He pulled out his walking cane and led her out of the garden and back onto the sidewalk. He knew that, to their left was more of muggle london and to the right a few blocks was the Leaky Cauldron and entrance to Diagon Alley. Roy swiftly turned left. Muggle London just sounded more facinating to him.

Caitlin let out a small laugh. It was good to see Roy in good spirits. She didn't like it at all whenever he felt like he had to down something. There wasn't anything wrong with him, at all. Sure, he may have lacked visual sight, but everyone lacked something.
She wasn't exactly sure where they were off to right then, but she held onto Roy's arm as he led her down the street. It didn't feel necessary to ask where they were really off to, considering she wasn't planning on going anywhere in particular.
"Just in case you didn't know already, this is one of our best days together I think."

“I would have to agree Ms. Milton,” Roy said. He would. When Marina had introduced Caitlin to him a while ago, he was a depressed wreck. Since then he had gotten better. Of course, Caitlin had seen him on both his best and worst days. Today was going to be the best, without a doubt.
Two blocks down, Roy pulled out his walking cane and let it trace the ground ahead of him. There were’nt a lot of people out, so it was easy to walk along the sidewalks. As they reached farther into town, the hustle and bustle of cars and people grew louder.
“You hear that?” there was a violinist on the corner. Roy knew he was there every Sunday, all day until the last tourist was safely tucked in bed. On his good days, Roy would visit him, say hi, drop a pound in his hat. From one musician to another, Roy would tell himself.
