"Thanks, I don't mean to brag but..." he joked, laughing slightly. Roy was just glad he didn't accidentally blow up the record machine.
"Wait, I'm going to what?" he asked as she placed her hands in the correct places. He took her hand and placed his other hand on her hip, hesitating slightly just to make sur he didn't hold on too high or too low. "Okay, Ms. Milton, hope you wore closed toe shoes..." He knew she said not to worry about stepping on her feet, but he did. And even if he couldn't SEE his feet, nor hers, he felt like facing down helped. As he got used to the tune, he instinctively took a step back.

"You're going to lead," she replied smiling. Caitlin had faith in Roy that he wouldn't step on her toes. Even if he did step on her toes, she wouldn't have minded. "I'm wearing closed toe shoes, but don't worry about stepping on my shoes. Just listen to the music and don't focus on your feet. Trust me." She smiled again and kept her hand on his shoulder.
Caitlin grew quiet and started to follow Roy's steps.

Each step Roy took was slow and cautious. He hesitated almost every time, and his steps were small, they were harldy moving. Just a hlf step forward, half step back, little left, little right. If it hadn't been so quiet (well, except for the music) Roy would probably be mumbling to himself what step to do next.
He closed his eyes, a useless tactic but still a habit, and listened to the song playing. Marina had left one of her records in, but at the moment, Roy couldn't recognize the title. He liked the tune though. It was soft and easy. Good for dancing. If you were any good.

Even though Roy's steps were small, Caitlin followed them anyway. She was glad that he was even trying. Roy could do a lot of things as long as he had the encouragement and the willpower to do it. If he became frustrated, however, everything would have to stop and then they would have to start again.
She squeezed his hand gently. Feeling somewhat boldish, Caitlin removed her hand from his and placed that hand on her hip before moving her hand up to his shoulder. She didn't say a word while the song was still playing, she continued to follow Roy's steps.

Roy bit his lip when Caitlin moved their hands. They were dancing much closer together now and it made Roy feel slightly nervous. He wished he could think of something clever to say, but all he could do was bite his lip and shuffle his feet.
And of cousre, step on Caitlin's foot. "Oh I'm sorry!" He jumpped when he felt her shoe under his. It was a light step, since they were moving slow, but his face still grew warm. He had only jumped back a little, and the tips of his fingers were still on her hips. "I'm sorry Cait," he said again sheepishly.

Caitlin felt Roy step on her foot. Luckly it wasn't a heavy step and it didn't hurt her foot when he stepped on it. "It's alright," she said with squeezing his shoulder gently, letting him know that it was alright.
She liked dancing with him even if they were taking very small steps. Caitlin kept her hands on his shoulders and kept moving. "You've improved." She smiled. They hadn't tripped yet, so that was a good sign. Besides, even if they did she wouldn't have minded.

"Since yesterday?" Roy asked, amusement in his voice. He had moved back toward her after he had jumpped away and they tentativly began to dance again. Now that he was sure he wouldn't break Caitlin's foot, his steps were a little less shuffled and a little more defined. "I guess I had a good lesson or two," he smirked. stepping to the left.

"Yes since yesterday," she said with a quiet laugh. Caitlin felt her face get warmer as Roy moved closer again. It was apparent that there was more confidence in himself. She moved her hands just a little further back on his shoulders.
Moving with his steps, Caitlin shook her head as she let out an audible breath. "I suppose so." Feeling a little more bold, she moved her hands from his shoulders and put her arms around his neck. "And you'll keep improving. Before you know it, you could probably become one of the best dancers."

Roy was sure that if she got any closer he'd bite a hole in his lip. Nervously, he chuckled at her comment. "I'm sure I'm no where near the best Caitlin," he said with a smile. "But thanks." He never imagined he'd have this much fun spending an afternoon dancing around his living room. Caitlin sure had done wonders for Roy, making him a noticably better person then he had been growing up.

"Ah, but who is really judging against you? I personally think that you're the best dancer I've danced with." Of course, Caitlin hadn't really danced with anyone. She just never really went out to places to actually dance. She did enjoy to dance, however.
"And relax a little more. I'm not going to bite you if you relax more." She didn't mind the closeness. Besides, they were dancing and usually slow dancing required the people to be close together.

"Yea, I'm sure." Roy chuckled. He was sure that an amazing girl like Caitlin had to of had plenty of guys who asked her to dance, guys that could see her and see where they were stepping. Lucky bastards, Roy thought to himself.
Caitlin told him to relax more, so he took a breath and did so, dropping his shoulders so they were less stiff and moving his hands from her waist to the small of her back. They were closer now too, and Roy willed his face not to heat up. "this better?" he asked.

"I'm serious," she said a smile evident in her voice. "You are." Sure, Roy couldn't visually see, but Caitlin always thought that Roy saw more of her than anyone else. In a way, it was true. He always listened, he would do whatever she asked, he was always there, and he would be willing to do something. To her, Roy was the best guy she had met. If he told her what had been thinking, Caitlin would have argued against him and said that he was indeed the lucky one and she would also tell him that she was also lucky to have met him.
Now it was Caitlin's turn to bite her lip. "Y-yeah," she nearly stuttered out. "Much better." Her eyes averted to something nearby at first then she looked back to him. There was a light trace of a smile on her face. The closeness wasn't awkward and she was glad that Roy didn't tense back up when they became closer. It made her relax more and just move easier with him.

Dancing with Caitlin seemed different now than it had the day before. They were more at ease, neither of them tense anymore. Roy also felt less awkward the more they danced together.
Caitlin was indeed, one of his closest friends. Besides his sister, who definatly had her moments, Caitlin saw a whole different Roy than the one he usually put out in public. With Caitlin, he felt he would never be judged, never be treated differently. He liked it that way.
The music faded, ending softly, and Roy and Caitlin continued to move softly.

The music seemed to just fade out, or maybe Caitlin wasn't listening anymore. She couldn't judge him by his blindness. After all, she understood what it was like to feel left out of something. During school she wasn't exactly Ms. Popular. Roy was just like anyone else, he just couldn't visually see.
As they continued to just move, she rested her head on his shoulder. Caitlin was completely relaxed as she usually felt around him. However, this time even though she felt completely relaxed, she also felt something else. She knew that she liked him after a lot of thought but that was something she wasn't going to exactly act out on.

He placed his chin on top of her head, fairly relaxed and comfortable with Caitlin in his arms. This was all so very new and strange to Roy. Girls weren't exactly a priority in school, he only cared about studying, music, and self-pity. He simply wrote himself off as a reject and never really tried to make friends, he had Marina and thought that was enough.
"Thank you," Roy said after a while. He felt he needed to thank her right then.

Once Roy rested his chin on her head, a smile was on Caitlin's lips. She liked seeing this side of Roy. He was relaxed and a little more confident about himself.
Her eyes were closed as they were in the middle of his living room. Caitlin wasn't really sure if they were still moving or not but then again that didn't matter.
"For what," she found herself asking. She wasn't exactly sure what he was thanking her for. As she awaited his answer, she carefully moved her head from his shoulder to look up at him.

Were they dancing? Roy was pretty sure his feet had been stuck to the floor. He didn't really mind though. He felt good, felt happy. He was dancing with a person he felt very good about, and he only stepped on her toes once, this of which, he was throughly proud of.
"For everything," Roy said with a smile. "For dancing and cooking and playing piano with me." he said. "For putting up with me when i know I'm not the easiest to deal with. And for, well," he took a deep breath. "For seeing me, even though I can't."

She was about to wave it off and tell him that he didn't have to thank her, but his last words stopped her. Caitlin moved one of her hands to his cheek. "You know, you can see yourself. Seeing is not all about visuals. Sometimes you just need someone to help you see yourself." Most of the time she had more faith in Roy than she had in herself. He just needed a little guidance and he could see that he didn't need to be bitter or have self pity about his blindness. Every day seemed to be an improvement for him.
"I've always had fun around you. You're open to do almost anything, even if you doubt the situation in your mind. Take dancing for instance. You doubted yourself but you're really a pretty good dancer. That is just like you being able to see yourself. I bet you see yourself more than you think you do."

Roy smiled at Caitlin. She could always say the right thing. "Well then I'm glad I have you," Roy said quietly. He raised his hand to place it over the one she placed on his cheek. They stood like that for a moment, the only sound in the apartment was their breathing and the scratch of Roy's record player.
Suddenly, he grinned and squeezed her hand. "Come on," Roy said, stepping back and pulling Caitlin along with him. He magicked his wand into his cane and then made his way to his front door, leading her out to the front of his building.

Moments like this were the ones that Caitlin liked the most. Roy was accepting if how he was and she liked to see him when he was happy. There was a wider smile on Caitlin's face as he held onto her hand. Roy's face was smooth.
When he took her hand and squeezed it, she looked at him questioningly. There was still a trace of her smile. She liked to see the excitment on his face. "Where are we going," she asked curiously.
