She saw jamie smile, and whether it was at her or not, something in Amandine made her feel like finally everything would be okay. Like it used to be. She reached out and grabbed Roland's hand, and slowly took Jamie's too, her eyes asking him if this was okay for him. She chewed her lip trying not to cry. She was feeling very overwhelmed again.

Sheena had stepped back, letting Jamie and Ama have Roland to themselves. She looked behind her just in time to see Liam walk around the corner. Quietly, she backed up quietly and turned the corner too. She found her brothers in the hall, but something made her feel like she should hang back a little, so she leaned against the wall next to Roland's door and crossed her arms.

Roland's gaze connected with Liam when he'd come in the door, and it was enough for the young Ravenclaw boy. He understood that Roland needed time with Jamie... with the entire family really, and Liam was just glad to see Roland alive. He glanced over his shoulder, curious why Hayden hadn't come in, and that actually worried him more than any of Roland's injuries... he was fine now, right? Slipping quietly out of the room, Liam headed back to the waiting room, where he found his brother. Hayden was the Ferrera that he felt most connected to, and when he caught his brother's attention, he shoved his hands in his pockets and asked, "You all right?" Hayden couldn't bring himself to go into the room with Roland. It wasn't that he wasn't glad that Roland was actually alive, it was something else and Hayden wasn't exactly sure how to describe it. When the younger ones disappeared into the room, Hayden walked to the waiting room. He figured that he would end up meeting with the others and then take them back to school whenever they were finished visiting. Once he took a chair, he sat with his elbows resting on his knees and his hands clasped together as his eyes were on the floor. He was replaying the fight with Blake in his mind whenever Liam's voice broke his train of thought. "Liam," he said looking up. "Yeah, I'm alright. I'm just waiting on you all." Hayden gave a shrug. "Have you already been in?"

Liam shrugged, and gave a half nod. It did not escape his notice that Hayden hadn't come in to see Roland, and this sent his mind into something of an overdrive. Hayden was the one to come get them and tell them Roland was alive... did that mean Hayden already saw their cousin and was giving everyone else the time they needed? Or was there something else there that Liam couldn't quite grasp?
"He's busy with Jamie and Ama," he explained, taking a seat across from Hayden. He was unaware that his own sister was nearby. "I hate hospitals, Hayden."

"Oh," said Hayden with a nod. He figured that Roland would be busy with those two. Hopefully Jamie would turn out to be a little more cheerful than he had been. It hurt to see the family broken up about everything, but maybe now, everything could start to be fixed.
His posture didn't change as Liam sat in front of him. "I'm not a fan of hospitals either. They seem to drain the energy out of you." Hayden wasn't sure if Liam's comment was supposed to have a meaning or if it was just a straight out comment, but he took it as a comment. "Plus, they are not the most happy of places." He gave a shrug.

It's alright. Jamie had heard that statement repeatedly from multiple people in the halls for the past two monthes. It hadn't meant anything to him, especially when those people in the halls knew nothing about what it felt to lose someone. Jamie had just nodded politely.
When Roland said it, Jamie felt like it might actually be ohkay. Everything in his future was a bit clearer. If his brother was alive, then maybe Jamie and Scarlette would end up perfectly, with a beautiful baby and a good home with jobs that suited them. Now maybe his family could stop everything.
Jamie swallowed, "I'm sure that everything will be ohkay in time to come." He didn't want to go into detail just yet, but now his brother was home. Roland was always the connections in the family. Jamie bit his lip nervously, and ended the description of his own life there. "What have you been doing?"

Roland had known the question would come up, and leave it to Jamie to ask. Jamie, ever practical, had to know the whole story. And Roland hated that he'd have to lie to him. But it was for his own protection.
"I've been in a muggle hospital," Roland said "I was pretty badly hurt in the first fight and I lost consciousness after I apparated. Someone found me and brought me to a hospital... I was in a coma for a while, but I woke up a few weeks ago. I've been trying to get back to you ever since. I contacted Riley first and found out she was going after.... the guy who tried to kill me, so I had to help her."

Jamie blinked a few times, trying to comprehehnd. He wasn't close enough to Roland to tell how ROland lied, or if he did at all. It didn't make much sense, but then again, Roland didn't have much reason to lie, and he just didn't seem like the type. Jamie shrugged it off mentally, and just managed to keep his regular expression.
"Sounds like an adventure," Jamie's eyes wandered over to Riley, almost forgetting she was there. "Are you alright?"

Roland exchanged a glance with Riley, his lip curved into a slight grin. "Actually, Jamie, we have some more news for you," he said. "Er... it seems that Riley's pregnant. I'm going to be a father."
His expression was slightly sheepish, as he remembered the conversation he'd had with Jamie in the Hospital Wing after the Hogsmeade attack. He had tried to urge Jamie not to be like Cyrus, and here he had gone and done it. Some role model he'd turned out to be.
Still, he couldn't feel guilty about it. How could he? He was desperately in love with Riley, and he was excited about the baby. But he supposed the whole thing would come as a surprise to Jamie. He doubted that Jamie had been paying any attention to him and Riley on Christmas. He'd been busy with Scarlette.

Ama watched the slow and cautious convorsation between her brothers. She bit her lip when Roland told his story. She felt like he was leaving something out, that he was telling the truth, but something was missing. She looked between Roland and Riley, trying to catch something, a glance or a look, something, but she couldn't, so she brushed it off.
She smiled at the sheepish look on Roland's face when he told Jamie about the baby. She was excited for a new baby in the family. But she wondered how her parents would react. Sure, Roland and Riley were older than Cyrus and Lina were when they got pregnant, but the situation was the same, they weren't married. She hoped and prayed that her mother wouldn't push Roland away because of this, not after they just got him back.

"Plus, they are not the most happy of places." He gave a shrug. Except that Roland was alive, and everyone should have been celebrating. So why did it feel like an even heavier cloud hung over the family now? Roland's return from the dead should have been a miracle... but it was already looking like it wasn't changing anything. It wasn't making anything better. Not knowing what else to say, Liam shrugged, his mouth closed. It was hard to get words out of him sometimes. He didn't really say anything unless it needed to be said. Words were unnecessary most of the time. He remembered stories of how worried his mother used to be when he was a baby. He didn't even try to talk until he was well past 1 year old. He was smart, quick on the uptake, and proved it by landing himself in Ravenclaw. "Have you seen him?" he asked at last, leveling a look on his brother that said he knew he hadn't. He was just curious why.

Liam's quietness didn't bother Hayden. Sometimes it was just like they could still communicate in the silence. Maybe it was just because they were close, or Hayden liked to think that they were.
Hayden knew the look on Liam's face. Sometimes it was just eerie how his brother could read him like an open book. No one else really could and that was pretty much a good thing. "Don't look at me like that," he said looking up. "I did see him whenever he first got back. It's not like I haven't seen him at all." He gave a shrug. "I'm just letting you all have time with him. I don't want him to feel overwhelmed with so many visitors at one time. I'll visit him later. It's not like he's going to disappear again." That last statement made his throat feel like it was constricting.
"Found any girlfriends or anything like that lately," Hayden asked changing the subject.

Jamie blinked a few times, trying to comprehend. Had he heard Roland wrong? Riley was pregnant, with his brother's child? He was under the impression that they hated each other, especially after Christmas, which had been when they had last met. How could that be possible, unless it was recent. Hadn't Roland just said he had been in a muggle hospital? Jamie shook his head for a moment, before giving a small, slightly confused smile.
"Congradulations," he mumbled in a small voice. "You two will be wonderful."
His mind was spinning, Jamie wanted to see Scarlette immediately. This was almost too much for him at the moment. This could be the last happy fmaily moment for a long time, with his own parenting news. This was Roland's homecoming, and he had no intention of wrecking it. He took a deep breathe, and another.
"Well, I'm a little late for a meeting," Jamie said shortly. "I'm so glad you're alive, you have no idea. And I don't think I could congradulate you enough."
Jamie turned for the door and slipped out before anyone could stop him, running down the hall, through the waiting room. He hadn't noticed his cousins. As soon as he reached a good distance, he apparated back to school to find Scarlette.

Roland was more than a little shocked when Jamie just up and walked out. "Jamie!" he called after him, but it was too late. His youngest brother was gone.
"Merlin, I swear, I can never do anything right by that kid," he said, running his hand through his hair. "I barely even know how to talk to him most of the time.... I just wish I knew how to reach him."
He sighed and leaned back against the headboard, glancing over at Riley, who was still holding Mara. "You doing OK over there? She's not getting too heavy for you, is she?"

Riley could see the question in his eyes. One thing she didn't think Roland counted on was just how smart his family was. Maybe Jaime was the first, but the rest of them would all have questions, and they'd figure it out.
She gave Roland a very sorry look when Jamie left the room in such a hurry.
"It's a lot to take in all at once, Roland. Give him time."
Liam and Sheena had both also slipped out of the room, and left them with just Ama and Lina and Cyrus.
"She's perfect," she responded, smiling at Roland, then at Lina.

Amandine sighed, feeling rather annoyed with Jamie at the moment. "Bye then," she said with just a bit more attitude in her tone than intended. She turned bak to Roland and shook her head, expressing that she didn't know what was up with that kid these days. If they were speaking to each other, maybe she would understand. But they weren't and she didn't and that's just how it was going to be.
Ama made her way over to Riley and looked at her niece with a wide smile. "Don't worry, she knows that very well," Ama said, grinning. She then looked up at Riley and then to Cyrus and lina, and Finally Roland. "Where did everyone go?" she asked, suddenly realizen that half their group was missing.

Mara had heard the phrase 'sheez perfeckt' quite a few times. The Dark Lady had said it twice in the few minutes that Mara had been in her arms. Mara looked up at the Dark Lady's lips and tried to mimic the movements they made. Mara had been practiving her 'shhhhh' noises. People would make that noise when Mara would say something or if she was crying. The only problem was the "ckt" noise. It sounded harsh, and without the amount of white stones in her mouth, Mara couldn't quite pronounce it.
Mara decided to try anyway, "shiss prafec."
It wasn't the samew when Mara made noises. Mara blew out, like the Mama would if the Mama sounded angry or frusturated.

Roland had to laugh as Mara started gurgling and making noises. "She's growing so fast," he commented. "I think she'll be talking soon. It sounds like she's trying, but she can't quite get the words out."
He looked at Riley again, that loving look he reserved only for her. "We can do this, Riley. It's going to be fine. And you're going to be an amazing mother."
He knew she had her doubts, but he wanted to keep reassuring her that they were unnecessary. She looked perfect with a baby in her arms. And they certainly had enough people around them to support them. Besides, he honestly believed that they loved each other enough to do anything, as long as they were together.
"How are you holding up? Are you getting tired yet?"

Roland left them all once... what would stop him from leaving again? Granted, being attacked and losing your memory wasn't really something he could help. He just felt uncomfortable about the whole thing, like something was still off. When Hayden asked about girlfriends, he very dryly replied, "Tell me about yours and I'll tell you about mine." He was making a point that girlfriends wasn't really a topic either of them would have much to say about.

"Don't talk like that," he said raising his eyebrows. Hayden knew that Roland wouldn't leave them again. He wouldn't put his family through all of that mess again. That was at least what Hayden was telling himself.
Hearing Liam's response, Hayden gave a small laugh. "Good point," he said running hand over his forehead. Neither one of them had a girlfriend, so apparently there wouldn't be much to talk about on that specific subject. "Well, are there any girls you happen to like?"
