Waiting for A Reply (Natalie)

[naicelle]

"Yea, I promise I won't say anything even to my sisters and brother. And I am sure you can trust me as I never tell secrets, not even my own." Ally said quietly while looking at the clouds for a minute.

[Natalie St. Clare]

Natalie nodded. "OK. Well, you see.... I see things. When I touch people, mostly. Sometimes I see their secrets or what they're feeling. But other times, I see what's going to happen to them. And it's usually bad. I saw that my parents were going to die. And when I tried to warn them, they didn't believe me. I see things and I can't stop them from happening..." She looked really sad as she stared down at the ground and watched an ant crawling up a rock.

Ally stayed quiet for a minute before saying, "Wow, I have never even heard of anything like that. I could never imagine that, I really don't know what to say, but I am sorry to hear that your parents didn't believe you." Ally tried to think of what to say, but couldn't come up with anything.

[Natalie St. Clare]

Natalie still watched as the ant crawled across the rock and back down the other side. "Supposedly it's really rare. That's what my uncle says, anyway. He says I'm special. But I wish it would go away. I don't like knowing bad things that are going to happen to people. But at least now I have people who believe me." She looked up at Ally and smiled. "It's easier to deal with when people believe you."

Ally thought about it and decided to say, "Yea, I guess I can see that it is rare. Of course I think that it would be awful to know if something bad is going to happen." She did smile though when she thought of how much easier it must be to deal with the problem when people believe it. She said that as she thought.

[Natalie St. Clare]

Natalie leaned back against the tree and closed her eyes. It was getting cold, but she didn't want to go inside. Instead she concentrated on the warmth of the sun as it shone through the nearly bare branches of the tree. Changing the subject, she said, "What are your favorite classes? How are the teachers there? I've met a few of them, and they seem very nice."

"Well um I like all of my classes really, but if I had to choose, they would be Charms, and DADA. I do think Transfiguration is a pretty good class as well. The class I can't wait to take though is Arithmancy, but I have to wait a couple years." Ally thought about that and hoped that she would still be happy about school when the school year ended.

[Natalie St. Clare]

"That's good," Natalie said. "I met the DADA teacher, Ms. Rothschild. I was in her wedding. She seemed really nice. And the Charms teacher, that's my cousin Lucie." She sighed. "I can't wait until I start school... then I'll have something to do all day."

[naicelle]

Ally laughed a little, "Yea, I bet it would be better to go to school so that you don't have to just hang around doing nothing all day. Oh yea my sisters were going to to go to the wedding, but were sure if they were allowed and I hadn't really done anything, so I didn't know anyone." Ally knew she was confusing, but she was confused herself.

[Natalie St. Clare]

"Yeah, I didn't really know anyone, either. But I was the flower girl. It was a nice wedding," Natalie said. "They seemed really happy." She looked up at the sky. "I think it might snow soon. Maybe later this week."

[naicelle]

"Well that sounds like it was wonderful. Ms. Rothschild does seem happy most of the time." Ally smiled and thought about snow, she loved snow as it meant that things were dimmer outside and that it was a time for having hot chocolate and all. "Really, you think it will snow? I hope so, even though I love to go outside, I love snow even more." Ally said looking at Natalie.

[Natalie St. Clare]

"I think it might," Natalie said. "Not that I can always predict the weather or anything... but there's something in the air. But I guess we'll see. I used to like to build snow forts when I was younger. Sabrina and I would make them and we'd sit inside and pretend we were Eskimos. Then we'd go inside and have big cups of hot chocolate with marshmallows." She smiled slightly. "I wish Bree would still play with me like that."

"Well that sounds like a lot of fun. I really am sorry that you two have drifted apart some. I could never imagine my life without my sisters especially Faith. It sounds like you used to have a lot of fun in the snow though." Ally smiled, hoping it was okay.

[Natalie St. Clare]

"Thanks," Natalie said. "So, have you been to Hogsmeade yet? I went there with Sabrina once, but she hasn't taken me again and my uncle won't let me go alone."

[naicelle]

"No, I really do want to go though it sounds like a lot of fun. I want to see all of the different places there, but I am afraid to go on my own and since my sisters are so busy they can't bring me and then my brother, well he doesn't like to be bothered by us." Ally looked sad for a minute, but tried to brighten back up quickly.

[Natalie St. Clare]

Natalie nodded. "Well, maybe I can talk to my cousin Lucie. She might be able to take a bunch of us. I hear there's a new restaurant in Hogsmeade that's really good. We should check it out." She shivered a little and wished that she was allowed to do magic so she could conjure up a jacket or something.

Ally smiled as she thought about that. It sounded like a lot of fun. "Yea, I think that sounds like fun, and you know I think I have actually met Lucie." She shrugged and said, "Oh it looks like you are cold... do you want a jacket or something?" Ally had learned the spell accio, so she took out her wand and said, "Accio Ally's Jacket." She waited for her jacket to show up and then she grabbed it and offered it to Natalie.

"Thank you," Natalie said softly. She put the jacket around her. "Are you sure you don't need it? I'll talk to Lucie and see if she can take us into Hogsmeade sometime. Maybe my friend Severus could come, too."

[naicelle]

"You are welcome and don't worry about it, I don't get cold very easily and I have my sweatshirt." Ally shrugged and pointed out her sweatshirt around her. "That would be fun and I am sure it would be great to meet Severus." Ally smiled.

"OK, I'll see if I can arrange something," Natalie said. She looked out at the water, as the giant squid popped up for a second, then disappeared below the surface. "I bet there are all kinds of weird creatures living in that lake," she commented.
