Star Gazing from the top floor (open...)

[Vanessa Reyes Vonderheide]

Vanessa walked all the way up to the seventh floor. She had to sneak out really late but she didn't care, which was odd for her. She felt like she really needed to see the stars. She got to the top of the tower and sat on the window's ledge. Tonight's sky was clear, not a cloud in sight. That made it all the more better for her. She loved a clear night sky. The stars would glow brighter and the crescent moon would light up the castle. It was beautiful to stare at for a while. Since she was little she would stare up at the stars and connect the dots to create pictures. That's what she was there for tonight. She needed a stress free enviornment where she could relax. This seemed like the perfect place.

[Axel Malfoy]

Axel couldn't sleep. He wasn't sure what it was that was kicking the back of his mind, but it was keeping him awake. He needed to think, or walk...or think and walk at the same time.

he rolled out of bed, dressed, and quietly made his way out of the Slytherin common room. He walked around, suddenly finding that, he was in the complete opposite end of the castle. The Astronomy Tower.

"Sure, Astronomy tower, sounds good to me," Axel shrugged and opened the door. To his surprise, he found that he wasn't the only one there. "Oh," he said, suddenly shy. "Hi. I'm...sorry...I'll leave," and he began to turn away.

Vanessa sat up and saw a blonde boy she didn't know standing there. She was pretty sure he was a Slytherin.

"OH, no. You don't have to leave. I was just enjoying the view. You can join me if you'd like. I really don't mind." She sort of rambled. She did that a lot when she didn't know somebody or was nervous. She smiled at him sweetly. She scooted over and patted the spot on the ledge next to her.

[Axel Malfoy]

Axel looked at the spot she patted for a moment. "Okay," he said sjyly. "Thanks," he walked over and sat on the ledge. The stars were sort of calming. Whatever it was thats been bugging him seemed to go away for now.

"I'm Axel," he finally said to the girl who had been kind enough to let him stay. "Axel Malfoy."

Vanessa turned away from the stars to look at him again and smiled kindly. "It's nice to meet you Axel." She said, surprised at how unlike her she was being. She never leaves the common room late at night. And she especially doesn't talk to cute boys who she hardly knows. And here she was, talking like she was outgoing and this was a normal thing. "I'm Vanessa, by the way. Vanessa Vonderheide."

[Axel Malfoy]

"Vanessa," Axel said, putting the name to his face in his mind. As he stared out into the night sky. Axel vaguely wondered if his brother ever came up here. If not, Axel wanted to make this place a place to visit often.

"So..." Axel said, finding it awkward to just be sitting there and not saying anything. "Why are you up here in the middle of the night?"

She chuckled and shrugged. "I'm not sure. I just...felt the need to get up and see the stars from a better view. So here I am." She said and leaned her head against the wall. The sky was really clear tonight. The perfect night for star gazing.

"How about you? What brings you up here so late?" She asked curiously.

[Axel Malfoy]

That was a good question. "I haven't the faintest idea honestly," Axel said, "i just...can't sleep?" He wasn't sure if it was just that, but thats what it was for now.

"Actually, except for class, I've never been up here. It's nice," Axel smiled.

[Vanessa Reyes Vonderheide]

Vanessa tilted her head to the side, wondering if there was more to it than that.

"Yeah, I come up here a lot actually. I don't know...I've always like the stars and..Well, this just happens to be the best view of them." She said and smiled. "It's so pretty at night..." She said quietly.

[Axel Malfoy]

Axel nodded in agreement and looked up. His mind was sort of in and out of focus. "Yea...stars are good," Axel said, blushing at what he was pretty lame responce. He liked the relaxed feeling the stars gave him though, so he stuck with what he had said.

Vanessa couldn't help but chuckle at his response and looked over at him. He looked relaxed, sort of. He also seemed a little uncomfortable to her. "Are...are you ok?" She asked, curiously.

[Axel Malfoy]

"Huh?" Axel asked, snapping out of the daze he found himself in. "Yea, i think." he nodded. Just making a fool of myself, that's all. He hardly knew the girl next to him; the last thing he needed to do was sprout off on WHY he couldn't sleep.

"Sorry, I'm kinda out of it these days..." he apologized.

She furrowed her brow, wanting to help. "Do you...wanna talk? I'm a good listener." She said in a quiet voice. She didn't want to pry, but she liked to help in any way she could.

[Axel Malfoy]

Axel considered it for a moment. "No, thats okay, I'd bore you," Axel said. "But thanks." He sat up a little straighter and turned to face Vanessa. "So you're in Gryffindor?" he asked. He was pretty sure he had seen her in the Gryffindor red and gold around school.

She smiled. "Yeah. I'm in Gryffindor. You're a Slytherin right?" She chuckled a little. "You're an awfully nice Slytherin boy." She joked, sitting up.

[Axel Malfoy]

"Yea, I get that a lot," Axel said. Just not in those exact words. Usually the other Slytherins had a few crueler ways of telling him he didn't belong there. "I think it's because I'm a Malfoy; it's sort of a tradition for us."

[Vanessa Reyes Vonderheide]

She nodded. "I suppose that would fit, yeah." She said with a chuckle. "Do you feel like you shouldn't be a Slytherin?" She asked curiously. "I mean, well...I don't mean to pry." She said shyly.

[Axel Malfoy]

"It's alright," Axel said. "I don't really know the answer though. I mean, there must be more to the Slytherin lifestyle than being mean and being pure. Cause I'm really not that bad of a kid," Axel laughed. "Granted, i'm only eleven." he added.

[Vanessa Reyes Vonderheide]

She chuckled and shrugged. "Well, I'm only twelve and I understand. Some Slytherins kind of ruined the name. It's all steryotipical now." She said with a sweet smile.

[Axel Malfoy]

Axel chuckled quietly and nodded, "We;ll I'm not that stereotype," Axel said. "Neither is my brother...all the time," Axel said. His relationship with his brother was, for lack of a better word, awkward. Axel loved his brother, but they fought, constantly, and din't agree on anything.
