Andrea's finger on his lips made him feel somewhat of a tingly feeling. He waited until her finger moved before he smiled.
This was something Chris had dreamed about from time to time. Just to sit on a couch and have someone curled up next to him. It made him feel more like he was at home and not just visiting. He couldn't help but let out a laugh as she repeated words she used earlier. "I suppose it is." It was the only place that Christopher had to call home, other than his ship of course. He hadn't ever bought himself a place but that idea started to float to the front of his mind. Maybe he should sometime soon.
"Andrea," he started with a light serious tone and looked to her, "you know I care about you, right?"

"Mmhmm." she said not catching the serious hitch to his voice as she nestled closer, then when she did hear his words she smiled, "I know you like it when I wear red dresses." she teased recalling one of the days they had spent on the island and he'd taken her to dinner. She'd worn a form fitting red dress that left him speechless or so she'd liked to think.

A light chuckle escaped him. "You look good in red," he agreed. Of course the night she had worn the red dress, Christopher thought that he nearly made a fool out of himself and he had been speechless.
"But I like you in anything." Chris' arm was still draped around her shoulders and his hand was running up and down her arm. She hadn't moved away from him at all after he admitted to have cared about her. He wasn't sure if she really heard him or not but he wasn't going to complain. "Andrea," he started again and pulled away from her slightly just to put his hand underneath her chin to tilt it up slightly.

"Mmm?" she asked looking up at him with eyes a deep shade of amber, at that moment there was a truce between them, well it was something better than a truce, it was as if they had not only set their resentments aside, but they had also allowed whatever it was between them to blossom.

Christopher noticed how deep her eyes were and they seemed to just grab at him, holding him in something almost like a trance. He knew what he was feeling. Was he scared? Yes. He was scared because he had never really felt strongly about a person. Although, Christopher Montgomery was not going to show that he was scared. He always went for things and this was going to be no different.
He slowly closed the distance between them and touched his lips to hers gently. Chris didn't want her to feel like he was pressuring her into anything. The gentleness of it said that he was sorry and that there was more than just a little care. He pulled back so he could see her reaction.

She smiled up at him, he had been so gentle, which was surprising now that he knew her identity. She was a sailor, used to the rough and the ragtag, but he always treated her like a lady of the first water...well after he had found out she was a lady, and after he had gotten over his upset.
She laughed lightly, " I've seen you grab wenches off the street and kissed them til they were nonsensical...and yet with the barest touch of your lips I find myself in a similar state."

Andrea's reaction had him smiling. "You're no wench," he said. "And I wasn't sure your reaction so I wouldn't have just grabbed you and kissed you. Those other, they're all the same and they hold nothing to you." He gave her a wink. Chris was giving up his old ways for her and he knew that it was well worth it.
"Now, if you want, I could just grab you can kiss you senseless when you're least suspecting it." He was smiling playfully at her. The argument earlier seemed like it never happened. "But, since you find yourself into a similar state, that means I'm doing it right." Again, Chris continued to smile and then leaned in to kiss her again.

Her eyes sparkled with a bit of anticipation when he mentioned grabbing and kissing her senseless. When had she become so wanton? Then again this was Christopher Montgomery. If his looks weren't enough to drive a woman wild, he certainly had the pedigree and the finances to back him, and yet none of that was why she found herself so attracted to him. Well...he was very handsome, but as her Captain, as such a domineering force upon a ship, his personality drew her in and held her there. Something about dark and dangerous men...she was definitely in for a heartache.
He leaned in to kiss her again and she met him more than half way. They had slowly been building up tension between them for a while now, perhaps that added to the argument they had earlier, but kissing him was a far more preferable way of getting her emotions out.

Noticing that Andrea met him more than half way made him smile as his kissed her again. Before he knew it, he pulled her closer to him and deepened the kiss. Yes, there was tension but he wasn't going any further than this. He didn't want to ruin what looked like could be a good relationship before it even really got started. As far as Christopher was considered, Andrea was the perfect one. She knew him like no other and there wasn't going to be another woman that knew him that well.
Pulling back, he gently ran a finger down her jawline. "A lot better than just arguing, hm?" A playful smile appeared on his face.

She shrugged playfully, " Well now you know the proper way to stop an argument at least." she teased. She had a semi-combustible temper when riled, and Christopher knew how to rile her. They would fight, they had to. They were both too passionate not to fight now and then, but yes at least they knew how to make up.
She would, for the time being anyway, ignore the tension in the back of her mind, the voice that said this sort of happiness could not and would not last.

He let out a laugh. Arguments between them would be inevitable because they were a lot alike. Even though Christopher didn't really like to argue with her, the after would be something to look forward to. Sure, this kind of happiness probably wouldn't last but he was going to try his hardest to fight for it.
"That's true." A loving glance, a glance that was foreign in his eyes, crossed his face. Chris was getting himself in deep, far deeper than he had ever dared go. "About our argument earlier, that whole part about getting you something else to wear, we're still going to do it. No arguments about it either. Tonight, it's just going to be you and I because I'm taking you to dinner. Plus, I'm sure that you want something else to wear than what you currently have."

At first she was caught up in the spell his eyes could cast. There was something very telling about the way he looked at her, and though she couldn't put her finger on it, she knew it was there. Others would plainly be able to tell that he was staring at her like a love sick puppy, and that she was doing the same, the cynics would be disgusted.
Then he proceeded to tell her what they were going to do and she rolled her eyes, " High handed as ever." she said shaking her head, "I'll tell you what..." she said a bit coyly, " I'll let you take me shopping, I'll even let you buy me dinner, if...you put the captain on the shelf for tonight."

He was used to being the captain even if he was on shore. Christopher wasn't sure exactly how to be anything but. A sigh escaped him and he contemplated the idea. "You know it's going to be hard," he said, "but I suppose I can try to. After all, you are pretty much agreeing without a fuss. Attempting to put the captain on the shelf for tonight will be a good enough exchange. " He smiled again.
"If I'm going to put the captain on the shelf, I suppose I should change clothes then." Christopher gave her a wink.

He was making a lot of concessions for her, and she was mildly surprised by it, at the same time she never wanted to make him think she was taking advantage of him. It wasn't that she wasn't attracted to, or didn't admire his high handedness, a domineering male could be quite satisfying, but there were times when she needed to show him she wouldn't be pushed around either.
She shrugged then smiled at him, " I doubt you own anything that would make you look less like a pirate." she teased although they both knew of his past, and she was well aware what a gentleman he could look like, there was always a hint of danger in his eyes.

"Well, I suppose it's good that I keep clothes here." He gave one of his most charming smiles. "I wouldn't want everyone always seeing me as a pirate." There was a teasing in his voice. She was the only one, other than the oldest of the crew on the ship that knew about his past. That wasn't going to be anyone else that really knew about it, other than the people affected by him.
"Besides, I doubt you'll even really recognize me." Tonight, he would dress casual.

That would be rather impossible, she thought silently to herself. Whether she could see him or not she recognized him. All of her senses could find him, it was as if she were hyper aware of everything when he was around...it wasn't exactly a soothing feeling, but his arms...being wrapped in those was soothing enough.
She nodded, " I'll get ready myself...we'll see who doesn't recognize who." she teased.

"A challenge?" His eyebrows rose jokingly. "To be honest, I think I could always recognize you. You'd be the one that would leave me just standing there staring." He laughed and then slowly started to stand up, bringing her with him.
"Come on Ms. Fairchild. We have a whole afternoon and evening planned and I'm eager to see what you are going to look like."
