Eve, after Viv was finished seeing Lance and Eve never really finished cuddling with Josh, was dragged away to begin getting ready.
She sat on her bed and sighed before smiling, she had given Viv a couple of sly looks for that kiss that happened only a few moments ago but she would curb her tongue...for a little while anyway.
"Alright...work your magic." she said knowing Viv had great plans for her, even if Eve didn't believe anything could be done.

Genevieve's cheeks were still pink after that kiss with Lance. She was a little shocked at herself for being so bold, but she didn't see the point in holding back anymore. She and Lance just fit together so perfectly, and she wanted him to know what he meant to her. And now Eve would know that she had no reason to feel insecure about Josh. It would be Eve and Josh, Lance and Viv. The way it was meant to be.
Now that they were back in Genevieve's dorm room, she took a long look at Eve's face, as if determining a plan of action. Finally she smiled. "You're going to look beautiful, Eve. Josh won't believe his eyes."
Her eyes danced as she spun Eve around so that she couldn't see her reflection in the mirror and began to work on Eve's hair.

All in all Eve though she had done rather well waiting the ten minutes or so before she started giggling. Her eyes said it all as she was smiling up at Viv, then her giggles spilled into laughs, " Well...?" she asked finally. She couldn't curb her curiousity any longer she wanted to know all the details even though she had seen for herself what had happened.

Genevieve was so caught up in her work that she missed the expectant look from her friend. She had only wrapped a few dark locks of hair into curlers when Eve began to giggle. And whenever someone else was laughing, Viv always found herself joining in, even if she didn't understand why they were laughing in the first place. But as they both erupted into giggles, Genevieve knew exactly why they were laughing. Her cheeks felt warm, and she could still taste Lance's lips on hers.
"It was wonderful!" she said, her eyes dancing with laughter. "It was everything I ever dreamed it would be."
Thinking back on that kiss, Genevieve's stomach gave a funny little flutter. She didn't know what it meant, but she liked it.

Eve sighed, it sounded so romantic really and it was hard not to be envious of her friend, of course she was happy for Viv too and that made her smile. "You guys will be so beautiful together tonight." she said a bit wistfully, and indeed Viv with her lush looks and Lance with his knight remniscent looks, they'd look like a medieval couple no matter their dress or style, Viv was like a fairy princess and Lance simply filled in the dashing courtier looks.

Genevieve's eyes took on a dreamy quality. "I suppose we will. But so will you and Josh. After all, Eve, you and I are going to the ball with the two cutest boys in school. And you're going to look so beautiful when I'm done. I know you don't think she, but you're very pretty.... I'm just going to bring that out so that everyone can see it. Josh is going to be blown away."
She was already envisioning the ball, with the four of them dancing the night away, looking like actors in an old romantic film. Eve was like Audrey Hepburn, Genevieve decided, while she was Grace Kelly. Lance and Josh... they were Cary Grant, twice over.

Her dress complimented her Audrey Hepburn looks as well, strappless floor length white gossimer with diamond like jewels encrusted down the bodice and skirt in a fashionable array that was both classic and stunning, it was partially remniscent of a movie Audrey had done,"My Fair Lady" and though it wasn't Eve's inspiration as she had seen the movie only once, it was very similar to the scene in which the young Eliza Doolittle was portrayed as a princess, only with a more modern feel.
She smiled at Viv's words, " Thanks Viv." she wasn't watching what Viv was doing with her, and she would be completely unprepared to see herself when Viv was done with her.

Genevieve would probably be the only one who wouldn't be at all shocked by how lovely Eve would look when she was done. She had a keen eye for all things beauty-related, and she could already picture exactly how Eve would look. She was going to take everyone's breath away, and Genevieve would barely even be noticeable, except to Lance, of course.
"I swear, you have such pretty cheekbones." she asked as she swept a touch of pink color on her friend's cheeks. "I don't have any at all, it seems...."

Eve couldn't help but laugh at Viv's compliment, "My cheekbones?" she laughed, but it was the first moment in which she wasn't dreading the silly dance. Well, she wasn't really dreading it, perhaps she was just drowing in anxiety, she wanted to please Josh as his date, and she wanted to do his handsome looks justice, she wasn't sure that would be possible. Still Viv had a way of breaking her tension.

"Don't laugh!" Genevieve replied. "You never realize just how important such things are. They give your face structure and character. And yours are stunning. You also have such pretty eyes... they sparkle sometimes, especially when you're looking at Josh."
She giggled as she finished putting some eyeliner on her friend. "Now close your eyes, I need to put on some eyeshadow."

Eve was smiling hiding her humor until it vanished at Viv's mention of her and Josh. It was becoming obvious then. She tried not to sigh. She did so love his company, she practically worshiped the ground he walked on. It was true of both Jordan boys that she adored them completely, but lately as the pairings had gone, she found herself spiraling closer and closer to Josh in a whirlwind that wouldn't let go.
She knew now that obviously Viv had feelings for Lance, and so she didn't have to worry about Viv and Josh dating , which she would never admit to worrying about in the first place. The simple fact was, she knew Josh wouldn't date someone who he didn't know well, and Viv was second in that position only to Eve herself. Was there someone else who could capture his heart? She prayed not...she didn't know what she'd do if she had to share him.
She closed her eyes as Viv instructed and tried not to let her heart break at such a notion.

Genevieve finished putting the eyeshadow on Eve, as well as a touch of eyeliner and mascara. She was good at this and knew how to apply the makeup without making Eve look like she was caked in makeup.
"You know, Eve," Genevieve said in another one of her classic abrupt subject changes, "I really think I want to do this for a living. When I finish school, you know? Open a beauty salon for witches. Don't you think that's a good idea?"

"Oh wow...Viv you'd be great at that." she said eagerly agreeing. Eve didn't really have any plans for after school. Her mother was a housewife, and ever since she left them, that's what she did on her days off, well the ones that she didn't spend with the Jordans. No Eve wasn't certain even what she was good at, or for other than taking care of her father.

Genevieve, however, thought that Eve vastly underestimated herself and her abilities. Eve was smart, so much smarter than Genevieve would ever be. She could be smart about some things, but book smarts, they evaded her completely. She was smart about trivial things, like fashion and hair and beauty, as well as feelings and emotions and people.
"I think it would be a great success. It's just too bad that I have no head for business. I'll probably have to have someone help me, to get started, to keep track of finances, all that stuff."
While unconsciously, she might have been asking Eve for help, that wasn't really her intention in saying this. Viv was not really capable of thinking such things through... all she knew was that she would need help.

Finances however were right up Eve's alley. Eve's mother had handled many of the bills, while her father would go and work and bring home money, Eve's mother took the money and paid whoever needed to be paid. She was so efficient it was amazing how far they could stretch on what her father made alone. Eve had inherited her mother's intelligence when it came to finances, but really her Aunt had taken a firm hold on her as well. Now her aunt handled Eve's and her father's finances but Eve was no idiot about what needed to be paid, her aunt seeing the ability in the girl had delegated much of the responsibility.
Inwardly Eve was brightening just a bit, "You know..." she muttered softly, " I mean...if you couldn't get someone better, or with more experience...or...well I'd be happy to help you Viv...I'm...alright with financial management...and really I think you should follow your dreams...and you know I'd do anything to help you if I can"

Genevieve would have bounced up and down if it wouldn't have caused lipstick to smear all over Eve's face. "Oh, would you, Eve?" she cried excitedly. "Oh, it'll be perfect! We'll be working together, and it'll be just like at school."
Setting down the lipstick, she threw her arms around Eve and gave her a hug. She was overjoyed; she could already envision a future where all four of them, the four puffs, got to be together all the time... Eve married to Josh, Viv married to Lance, and the two girls working together. They really would be a family.
"OK, your hair should be done in the curlers now," she said. "Let me take it out and I'll finish styling it. And then you'll be ready to go. Oh, you won't believe how gorgeous you look already!"

For a brief moment Eve had the same vision, and it was beautiful. Her life, or at least the one she dreamed about, flashed before her eyes. Viv and her started a business...Viv with her natural flair for making things beautiful, and Eve helping with the management, married to the boys...living in houses right next to each other, being moms together...
Their children would play together and go to school together and everything would be so very nice.
She shook herself out of the daydream however and continued to smile, only this time a slight sparkle was in her eye, "It would be rather fun...nice...you know if we all stayed together after this..." some part of Eve always thought that she'd be left behind since she was a year behind them.

Genevieve finished taking Eve's hair out of the rollers and began to adjust the curls to do as she wanted them to do. "Oh, we should!" she replied. "I already know that I'm going to marry Lance... I'm a bit of a Seer sometimes, you know. And I've known since I first saw him that I would marry him one day. Did I ever tell you that? I never really thought about it, but it was always there, in the back of my mind. I just knew it. And then you can marry Josh, and we'll live next door to each other, and our children will be best friends, just like we are!"
The image was so sharp in her mind that she could almost touch it. Josh and Eve would have dark haired children, and she and Lance would have blonde ones, like her. But one would have dark hair, like his father, and would wear glasses. And they'd have a dog, like she had once imagined with Lance. It was all so beautiful and perfect, and a more pessimistic person would have probably thought it too perfect. But Genevieve was positive in all things, and she never questioned the rosy perfection of this future.

Kind hearted, hopeful, but still a little wary of things that sounded too good to be true, Eve smiled and agreed with Viv almost on an indulgent scale. While in her secret heart of hearts she dreamed and danced just as vibrantly. What a beautiful life that would be.
Her dreaming thoughts surfaced just a bit and she let out a sigh, "...I would...really, truely, love that life." she announced.

"It'll happen," Genevieve said confidently. "I know it will. You just have to believe in it. Good things can happen, Eve. Just believe it."
She was finished now with Eve's hair, having pulled it back off of her face into a perfect cascade of curls in the back. She allowed several curly wisps to hang down in the front, creating a frame for her face. The makeup was complete, too, and Eve was so completely breathtaking.
Excited, Genevieve let out a squeal. "You're done," she said. "And you look so beautiful, Josh is going to burst!"
