"OK," Athena said. "Thanks, Zander. I'm glad to see you're doing OK. Maybe we could meet for lunch sometime. I feel like it's been so long since we've seen each other." She frowned, thinking of their lost brother, Ian. "The boys would love to see you again, too."

Pearl smiled at his gesture and motioned to the others to crouch down on the forest floor. Pearl's smile hadn't faded any when she turned to Remus and Kris and said " You shouldn't worry, if for a moment I thought you'd be in danger in your lives, I would remove you. We are a strong pack, you should know that Remus, don't doubt it." she said to him as her eyes were still trained on where Zander went. Remus smiled at Pearl. She always made him feel safe. He felt like she really understood him, and he appreciated that. She always knew what he needed to hear. "Thanks," he said quietly. |

Pearl turned to Remus and smiled at him. "You've been as you are for much longer than your 'brother' and sister, You are strong. You just have to believe that." she said and touched her index finger to his nose.

Remus blushed and stared down at the ground. "Thanks," he murmured again, not looking at her. He wondered if Dean was silently laughing at him behind his back, and he raised his chin proudly.

Kris didn't notice her brother blush for she was too busy thinking of a way to speak to her dad. She had to know the truth, she had to know why she never got even a letter from them and why he erased her from the family. Was Greyback right? Had they got rid of her because she failed?

Pearl sniffed the air and her gaze softened toward Remus and his sister, she whispered to him "Do you recognize that scent in the air? the one that smells like sour things? like vinegar on a hot day? That's worry." she said shifting her gaze to his sister, then back at him. "Perhaps, you should subscribe to the thoughts of 'everything happens for a reason.'" she reached out a hand to set Kris's worries to a still.

Zander led Athena back to the spot where Pearl and the others were waiting. "Hey, Pearl," he said with a smile. "You remember my sister, Athena, right? We're going to walk her back to town."

Pearl smiled at Zander's kin. She stood up and embraced Athena. "Hello again." she said in her gentle voice. "Our families need to have more time together." she added and brought the pups to stand as well.

Athena smiled back. "I agree," she said. "Things have been so hectic lately, but I would like to spend more time with you." She pulled back and looked at Pearl. "You are looking well. I knew when I met you that I could trust you to take care of my little brother."

Remus was still blushing from Pearl's attentions that he barely noticed when Zander came back with his sister. What was wrong with him, anyway? He hadn't felt this way since he first started to go out with Sabrina. But he knew better than to let himself have feelings for someone who was older than him, and who was in love with someone else. And in a way, Pearl was almost like a mother to him. It was weird to have a crush on her, wasn't it? He stared down at the ground in misery.

Kris was still on the ground, she wanted to just leave and find her father so she could ask him her questions. She pulled on her own hair from the frustrastion that she couldn't do that. "I need to ask him." She muttered to herself, she was lost in her own world and hadn't noticed that the others had stood.

Dean watched quietly, feeling more than a little impatient. He wanted to move on, to see what the other werewolves in the pack were like. He was bored and hoping for some action. But he didn't say anything. He was used to being quiet and keeping his feelings locked inside while he observed others.
Still, the transformation seemed to stir things up inside him, and he was feeling everything stronger than ever. He wondered to himself just how long it would be before his restrain would break.

Zander put an arm around Pearl's waist. "She does take good care of me," he said proudly. "I don't know what I'd do without her." He turned to Pearl and said in a low voice, "Athena and Alastor have taken in a small werewolf girl, and she's run away. I told her we'd keep an eye out for her." He didn't want to discuss it now, but he knew that Pearl would probably have some thoughts about humans adopting a werewolf child. he hoped she would be able to give some advice on the subject.

Pearl frowned, Pups usually took well to being taken in. She nodded and put her arm around Zanders' shoulders, "We should get moving, We'll need to get the scent of your pup so we can find her." she offered with a smile.

Zander nodded. "Yeah, if you have something of hers where we could get the scent, that would help a lot." He gave Pearl's hand a squeeze. "So, yeah, let's get back. I'm sure Chloe and the others are wondering what's happened to us by now."
