"Yeah. I tend to write them together," he said. "Sometimes whenever I get stuck, I go back and work on the music after the lyrics but it seems to be easier to do it together. I could help you with that. Its not as hard as some people think it is." Bailey thought that he was starting to babble on, so he made himself stop talking for the moment so he wouldn't embarrass himself.
"Really?" A huge smile spread across his face. "Yeah, soon sounds good. I'm, I'm free whenever you want to look over them." Bailey couldn't remove the smile off his face for the time being.

"That's difficult," Marina wrinkled her nose. "I'm envious you can do that." Having Roy play different choreds while trying to find words that fit to them made her feel like she was insulting music. "I don't want to trouble you with my lack of talent in that category, or I might ask you to." She gave a small laugh. Marina was never good at poetry, just cold hard facts or maybe some nonfiction.
"Do you have anything to do, maybe," she tried to back track to her schedule, she had to do an interview to do tomorrow, but other then that, lunch was always spent sitting in the grey little cubicle. "The day after tomorrow? Anywhere you'd like, and I'll treat you to some lunch?"

If Marina ever asked for his help, Bailey knew that he would always be right there to help her. After all, he was a gentleman, or at least tried to be, and she was an old friend.
The day after tomorrow? Of course that sounded perfect. Bailey refrained from looking like a five year old boy who's mother just gave him a cookie just before dinner. He smiled. "Lunch the day after tomorrow sounds good." At the mention of treating him to lunch, Bailey knew that he wasn't really going to let her do that, he would do his best to pay before she did. "I'm not really a picky eater to be honest. I think I eat anything that looks decent and thats edible." He gave a laugh. "What is your favorite type of food?"

"Perfect!" Marina was secretly ecstatic. She was finally able to relax and have a little fun with someone who she wasn't uneasy around. Bailey just seemed to sweet, that he couldn't possibley do anything to make her tense. She loved that. "I love spicy things. And hot things! But I especially love sweets," Marina sighed, thinking of a bag of gum drops being handed to her. "But this is about you! WHat's your favorite, Bailey Stone?"
She looked at the clock, "what time are you performing? Do you want another drink before you go up?"

"Spicy and hot are good things," Bailey said laughing. "And sweets. We can't ever forget about those." He was smiling. "Well, I have the right to know a little bit about you, don't I? Think of your interview of me, also being my interview of you except yours wouldn't show up in the Daily Prophet."
"My favorite? That is a tough question to be honest. I like all types of food seeing as I'll eat almost anything. It doesn't matter what it smells like, I'm always willing to try new things." Bailey realized that he was probably babbling again shyly stratched his cheek. "I can perform whenever." He nearly blushed at the fact of them getting a drink together. What in the world was up with that? Almost blushing because they were getting a drink together?! Bailey swallowed and tried to appear confident. "Yeah, sure. Another drink sounds good."

"Chocolate is unarguabley the most brilliant invention," Marina nodded firmly. "I've never been interviewed before. I usually ask all the questions. I guess I'll know what it's like to be my own test subject," she laughed. "Then what's your favorite colour? That's important to know about everyone."
"Adventurous? Really?" Marina stood up straighter. "I love trying new foods! We should go to some exotic resteraunt that neither of has tried! Maybe Morrocan, or Camobodian. It'll be like traveling the world!" She spun in a slight circle before leading him to the bar for another drink, not noticing if he was babbling or not. He sounded normal to her. "What would you like?"

"Now that question is easily answered, but I don't just have one favorite color. Green and Blue are my favorites."
Bailey laughed as she spun. "Morrocan and Camobodian are two things I haven't tried yet. That could be something interesting. And going to some exotic resturant sounds good to me. Although last time I went to one, I think the waiter had a hard time understanding me, or I had a hard time understanding him one. That was slightly embarrassing. Both of us would have to repeat what we said at least twice." He gave a shake of his head then looked from Marina to Nat. "I'll just have whatever it was I had the first time," he said. "And drinks are on me, no questioning."

"Green and blue?" Marina smiled. "Those are serene colors, and they enhance a feeling of general calm. I read that once in a magazine. Is it true? I've never got to ask someone."
"Really?" Marina laughed good naturedly. "I don't think that's ever happened to me, although I've never had the wits to go in an exotic resteraunt all by myself. What reteraunt were you at? Was it any good?" Marina was almost over excited. The thought of anything different was Marina's set off point. One of the first reasons she had gone into journalism was to simpley get to know the world around her. She wasn't quite a world- travleing news reporter, but she definately wouldn't deny getting out there. "And drinks are most definately on me, sir. I believe I asked you if you wanted another. The pleasure is mine."

Marina's excitedness made Bailey laugh and not feel as awkward. "I don't really know about the colors to be honest. I haven't ever kept up with what color means what, but I guess they do."
"And it was good. It was at a restaurant outside of London. Some family owns it, but I would go back. They would probably remember me." He gave a sheepish look.
Bailey laughed again. "Oh, so you're telling me? Very nice Marina." He told her not to question him, and well she didn't. He had to admit that he liked that. "Well, lunch will be on me. I can't let you pay for both."

"Well, you don't seem to be bouncing of the walls. Blue and green seem to fit you," Marina nodded firmly.
"Really? Do you want to try that reteraunt out eventually too? I love family owned resteraunt more then large chains. They seem to care about their food more. It tends to be tastier, too." Marina laughed. She was talking a mile a minute, and she took a few seconds to breathe. She didn't want to scare Bailey, they had just reconnected.
"I object. I asked you to both, so I believe I'm up for that too. But it's alright, I don't mind. Just the fact that you're getting me out of the dull office is almost as if you're paying. So don't worry about it. But thank you."

"I've never really been one to bounce off the walls," he said with a laugh. Bailey had always been the calm quiet one who always kept to himself.
Eventually? There were going to be more outings of them together? The thought made Bailey's stomach flip. Of course there would more than likely be more outings. They were friends after all and they were going to get to know each other again.
"Family owned resturants are better I think. Like you said they tend to care more about their food, and they also tend to care more about their customers. I think you'll like the place." A smile reappeared on his face. Her talking fast didn't bother him. In fact, it made him feel a little better that he did babble on and on about somethings.
He knew better than object to her again. Marina would more than likely just demand that she was going to pay for it and that was that. Bailey was going to find a way to pay her back. "Well, I'll pay you back somehow or another. It'll be when you least suspect it and we're not going to argue over who pays when that time comes. And you should know that if you ever get bored, you are always welcome to come over for a visit. I'm always at home, well most of the time anyway."

"I would be surprised if you were," Marina smiled at him. "No offense of course. But you always seemed mellow." Marina had always thought mellow was a good trait in a human being, which was the complete opposite of herself. Her firm belief that opposites attract made it seem more appealing then someone who would go crazy.
"I agree! I prefer places that do it because they seem to actually love it rather then to strictly make money. I guess jobs are a legitimate reason to work, but I would much rather have my work be a hobby rather then as a torture mechanism. Right?"she took a deep breathe. "I can't wait to see!"
"I'll only take the money if you can trick me into it," Marina said after a while. She liked little mind games like that. "And if you do, then I won't argue. But I can always use that money to buy something for you. Since, at that point, it would be my money. And you wouldn't be able to tell me not to," she teased. Marina loved small games like that, being able to joke lightly with someone again. "And maybe one day, I'll just pop by. See if you can help me on some of my compositions. Is that alright?"
Marina's mind was spinning. She was a lot happier talking to Bailey then she had been talking to any other guy in her office. She was thrilled that someone she hadn't talked to in a while was back, and she was able to visit him. Marina had been so concentrated on Roy and her job that she had neglected the social part of her life. It was almost making her week, just sitting here and talking.

"Well, I suppose I-I can take that as a compliment." He didn't mean to stutter any. It wasn't that he had a speech impediment, it was just well some one sort of new.
Bailey laughed as he followed what she said. "Well, I don't think I could really argue with that. Even if you do offer to pay me for something, I could always use that money as well and get you something, because like you said before, it would really be my money after that and then there would be no arguing about that either. As for tricking you into taking money, I'm sure that I can think of some kind of clever way for you to take it back. I'll just have to think about it for a little bit." He flashed her a wide grin. "And just popping by sounds like a great idea. I'll help you with whatever I can. There's nothing wrong with that. It's not like I have anywhere special I have to be everyday, so you'd be more than welcome to come whenever. You don't even have to let me know when you come. Just show up."
Bailey took in an inaudible deep breath. His mind was running a little faster than his mouth could go. "And whenever you come over, and after I help you with your compositions, you could go over a few of the songs I wrote and tell me if I need to change anything. Or you could even give me ideas for a new one!"

"It was meant as one," Marina sipped her drink as it was delievered to her, not really notcing anything wrong with Bailey's speech.
Marina pouted. She wasn't used to having people threaten her playfully the same way she did them. Mostly, people just let her. "You don't really know what I like, besides sweets and foods, do you? I know you like music and guitars. I could buy you a whole new guitar! Do you have a favorite brand? Or maybe I'll just find out..." Marina laughed, half joking. "And I think I will pop in. I've always wanted to see what guy's apartments look like. I've never been in anyone else's room but Roy's. And he keeps everything spick and span. I can't wait to hear you tonight."
"Ideas for new songs? I don't think I could... I've never been an inspiration before. I just mosey on my own way. If I did inspire anyone to write a song about me, I don't think I would be more happy." She laughed. "Thats's a secret of mine. To have a song written about me. What about you?"

"I remember that you used to like a doll. You would never leave her behind out on the playground." Bailey smiled. "And I'm not sure what else you like besides sweets and foods, but I can find out really easily. That wouldn't be a problem. As for buying me a new guitar. I could not let you do that. Those are expensive, and the guitar I have right now is pretty good. It has lasted me a while. If you ever wanted to buy me something, it could be something like candy. I couldn't let you spend that much money, but I love that you even thought about it, even if you are joking." He smiled again. To him, it was the thought that counted, at least for something like that.
"I'll have to make sure I keep my place picked up for the next several days. Usually I have sheets of paper thrown everywhere from where I've been writing out music and lyrics and its sometimes hard to get through the living room without stepping on the papers." There had been many nights that Bailey just fell asleep right on his couch with his pencil in hand.
"I promise you Marina that you could be a lot more than you think you are. And you could probably inspire just about anything. As for a secret of mine, I don't know. I've never really wanted a song written about me, like someone else writing one about me. I can write one about myself and whatever I'm going through, that's not a problem. But I can't really think of a secret like that. Maybe its because I never really thought about it."

"I did!" Marina mumbled. Her doll had been her best friend, and she still had it stashed on one of her shelves by her bed at her house. "That little china doll was my best friend. She and I never did anything without each other." Marina smiled, head resting on her hand. She should buy that doll a companion. And she would set them up like herself and Bailey were set up right now, talking. "And you never know. I'm sure I'll see something, think of you, and just purchase it. I don't really see costs as a problem." Marina was so touched that Bailey remembered that doll. She wished that she remembered the doll's name.
"No! I want to see you in your natural habitat!" She laughed out loud. "It'll be like hop scotch. Everytime I try and clean, I end up forgetting where I put the items, and I don't want you to lose your work! I want to see it all! And hear it all! Even if it takes me one hundred trips!"
Marina blushed a deep red. She didn't remember the last time some one was so direct with her, and it made her fell warm inside. "Thank you, Bailey. That means a lot to me." It was one of the first times she couldn't look someone in the eye when saying thank you. She too aware of her face's hue. "And I'm sure someone's written something about you. You're such a nice person. Even if you don't want one secretly. " She smiled. "I guess I'll have to find out your secrets another way."

"In my natural habitat? Are you sure about that? It can get pretty messy. Besides, I wouldn't lose my work because I put it in a folder thing that I picked up." All his folders that he kept music and lyrics in were about to burst open with stuff, and he needed to get a few more. "I don't want you to get hurt trying to get through my place," he said with a laugh. "I would feel bad knowing that I caused it."
Her blush didn't go unnoticed, but Bailey wasn't sure how he was supposed to react to her blushing. He didn't think he had ever really made a girl blush before. "I doubt that. I've never met anyone who wrote songs, and thanks." His own cheeks tinted very lightly. "And I suppose you'll find out my secrets some other way. You'll probably find them before I do."

"But that's the best part!" Marina insisted. "I bet that I could guess a lot more about you by simpley walking into your apartment right now, rather then if I read an article about you by some other reporter. An article can describe you, but your living space will tell me all about yorur habits. Like what your most important possession is. I bet you take better care of it then other things in your house."
"I don't think I could write you a song, but maybe I could write you something else if I tried. I don't think it'd be very good," she smiled, shaking the burning pink away from her face. Marina looked back at Bailey. "Writing things for someone is a lot harder then just writing. But is that a challenge?"

"You'd probably learn that I like to pack things tightly together," he said laughing. Bailey did try to keep a lot of things together in just one place. "And I'm not sure if I really want you to find out all of my habits. They might scare you away." He looked at her jokingly. "And I'm pretty sure you can guess what my most important possession is without walking into my apartment." He smiled widely.
"Yes Ms. Evangeline, it is a challenge. Besides, writing or even thinking about someone could spark some creativity you didn't know you had."

"It takes a lot to scare me away, Mr. Stone," Marina said indignantly. "You should meet some of the people I have to interview. You'd be proof that half the people in the paper should be sent for counseling. And at least you wouldn't lose anything, if it's just all in one big pile." She laughed. "I could take one guess." Her eyes glanced briefly at his guitar.
"Then I'll have to take you up on that. I would never back out of a challenge. But I'm not promising anything Pulitzer Prize worthy," Marina sighed. "Do you have a challenge?
