Adrienne was up to her neck in paperwork, trying to get all of the victims from the attack in Hogsmeade straight. Some of them, like that little girl one of the MLE officers brought in, still hadn't been identified. It was such a horrible tragedy, but almost everyone agreed that it was probably just the beginning.
Tim was coming in in about another hour when the shifts switched, which would honestly brighten her day a little. But today had been pretty good so far anyway. It was quiet, a few people were released, and she was busy.

Tim was going to be on a long shift at the hospital. Just one of the perks of being a doctor. Although, he didn't really mind it though. He was always doing something and he liked helping people. Of course if he could, he would get them to laugh or even crack a small smile.
Sighing, he arrived at St. Mungo's and walked by the reception witch on the first floor right by the entrance doors, and gave her a smile in greeting. "Hello Abigail," he said as he continued walking toward his area. Just as he did every day, Tim grabbed a few of the charts that were laying on the desk and started to look through them, just to get a mind as to what was going on. He looked to the witch sitting behind the counter and gave her a broad smile. "Adrienne," Tim greeted. "I trust things are going smoothly?"

"As can be expected," Adrienne replied, smiling just a little when she saw Tim. Really, her crush on him was kind of hopeless, and she knew it.
"Three more patients were released this morning, so that's good news." The only patients from the attack that remained were the ones who were really severly injured. They managed to help most of the victims within hours of the attack.
"All the same, I hope you're ready for a long night."

"Good, good," he said with a small nod and flipping through a few pages.
At the sound of three more patients being released, Tim smiled again. He was relieved that they were getting well, instead of worse. Tim pushed those thoughts from his head. He wouldn't think badly, that would just lead to a long dreadful night. Of course, with Adrienne working most of the time when he was there, he was able to get through it because she was always willing to talk to him as long as she wasn't busy.
"Of course I'm ready love," he said with one of his charming smiles. He closed the chart he was looking at. Tim was a little early for his shift. Resting his arms on the counter, he looked to Adrienne. "Any men come by today and flirt with you," he asked with a hint of teasing.

He made her heart race a little, and she laughed quietly. Between his smile and his teasing and just him always being there... she was a lost cause. Luckily, she wasn't too bad at hiding it. Or at least, she hoped she wasn't.
She leaned forward behind the counter, looking up at him. "Why? Would you be jealous?" She asked, a little surprised at her own bravery in the question, rather than just saying no.

"Maybe," he said at her bravery. "I might would have to find them a special room for a little while." Tim would have actually felt a little jealous if another man did come up and flirt with Adrienne. Another smile was made apparent on his face.
Adrienne was one woman that he really liked. After all, she didn't just start giggle annoyingly. She could take his teasing and say something back. The last woman that Tim thought about dating didn't work out (although he didn't really think about dating Adrienne at the moment). She turned out to be one of the annoying ones. Ever since, which had been about two months, Tim remained single. He didn't mind it of course. It gave him more time to tease and talk to Adrienne, which helped him pass the down time between checking on patients.

She would have been elated to hear that, since she felt like she was an annoying idiot when he came around. Being a girl was so difficult sometimes.
"In that case, no. No one's been loitering around my desk flirting with me."
Danny came by, since her shift was just ending, and dropped off a handful of patient files. She smiled at Tim and Adrienne, then pulled her hair free from its ponytail and left. The shifts were officially swithing over, and Adrienne took the files.
"These four are yours, I believe," she said, handing him the top four from the stack. "It's been quiet today, so far, so you shouldn't be terribly busy."

"Are you just saying that so I won't go hunt them down," Tim asked with his eyebrows raised. He gave her a wink.
"Night Danny," he called as she left. Tim looked back to Adrienne and watched her sort through the files to find his. "Thanks sweetheart." He smiled and then took the files from her and started to look through them. It would be a few more minutes before he actually walked into the patients rooms to check on them. The nurses would be finishing up checking on the patients as the new shift came in. "Is there anything I need to watch out for in the cafeteria tonight for whenever I actually take a break?"

"Perhaps. I wouldn't want anyone getting in a fight over lil' ol' me," she joked. In all honesty, she wouldn't mind at all if Tim fought for her.
Merlin, if he only knew what he did to her.
She blinked once, and then shook her head. "I don't know, actually," she said with a little shrug. "I haven't taken my break yet, either. Though, rumor has it, the mysterious meat loaf is back."
Her shifts were always slightly offset with the mediwitches and wizards. It was an efficiency thing. If everyone changed shifts at the same time, something was bound to be missed.
Another doctor left, and Adrienne took the files, putting them in the pile to be organized. She could afford a short break to talk to him.

Tim gave a slight groan. "You've got to be kidding," he said. "I knew I should have actually made something and brought it. Although, maybe they'll have something else decent." It would be a little while before Tim took an actual break. He would need to go in and check all his patients, then write in their charts. It would be at least two hours before he took an actual break. Although, he never minded the work.
"I suppose I should go ahead and go check up on a few of those patients. Whenever I get back, keep me company whenever I work on their charts, then maybe take a break?"

Adrienne shrugged. "I have nothing to do with the cafeteria. Believe me, if my powers reached that far, the meatloaf would have been the first to go. I'm not even sure it really is meat."
If she had been at all ready to take a break now, she would wait until he came back simply because he asked. She nodded. "Sounds good. I think I'll be pretty busy until then anyway." Or she would keep herself busy. She kept him company every night when he worked on the charts, and it wasn't a tradition she was easily willing to break.
"I'll see you in a few then," she said. "Now go actually do your job," she added with a smile.

There was something always about hospital food that didn't really seem all that great. Tim, however, ate it anyway as long as he knew what it was. "Good. I wouldn't want you just sitting there daydreaming about me until I came back while there were papers there, or if someone came up and needed your assistance for something." He gave her a smile and wink. "Although, if there is nothing to do, feel free to daydream about me." Tim's smile widened as he closed the chart he was looking at.
"And yes, ma'am. I'm off to do my job." He gave a small laugh and walked off toward the first patient's room. Once he opened the door, Tim put on his friendly appearance. The words "Good evening dear," could be heard as he walked into the room.

Oh, Merlin, if he only knew, she thought to herself again, but she laughed a little at his words and shook her head. "I'll try, but you know, it's awfully hard to get your devilishly handsom face out of my head."
She was joking with him, but Merlin, it was true. It was so hard to think while he was around.
Chase came up to grab his patient files as soon as Tim left, and he just shook his head at his sister.
"Shut up," she said, sending him on his way as well and getting back to work.

Tim took his time visiting with his patients because he liked to make them feel comfortable with what was going on. He didn't ever want to appear to be rushed because he knew that it would make them feel like he wasn't doing his job good enough.
For the patients that were not all that serious, he got a smile out of. Another patient was still sort of out of it because of the potions they had been giving her to help numb the pain while the inside of her was being healed. Other than that, everyone was looking good. Maybe tonight would be an easy night.
He returned finally to the nurse's station where Adrienne sat. Tim took a seat at the table behind the counter and started to fill out charts and making notes about his patients. "Did you daydream by any chance," he asked teasingly. He liked that he could go on with her and she didn't give him weird looks, unless her earned one.

Adrienne's eyes kept flicking up to the hallway, waiting non so patiently for Tim to come back and work on the files. It was funny how quickly time passed while he was there, and yet how slow it was when he was gone. Really, it was driving her insane.
She smiled a little when he sat down, but otherwise continued with her work and let him do his until he spoke up, and then she swiveled in her seat and gave him a mischevious smile.
"What would you do if I said yes?" Her voice was light to show that she was teasing still, even if she meant every word.

Stopping his writing, Tim tilted his head up to look at her. "Well, I would be very flattered," he said. There was honesty in his voice. "And then I would probably ask you what it was about, as long as you were willing to share it." Tim flashed his grin then finished writing a couple notes down in the folder and put it over to the side, showing he was done with it for now.

Adrienne wished she had the courage to tell him, but she backed out and shrugged.
"Next time, maybe," she said with a little smile that would have made it difficult to tell if she had actually been daydreaming about him or not.
"All done?" She asked. "I think I'm ready for my break, if you are."

"Ah, so you're a secret day dreamer," Tim said teasingly. He gave her a wink.
Standing up, he gave stretched. "I'm ready for my break Ms. Kelly." Tim waited for Adrienne to stand up. "I appreciate you taking your breaks with me. It saves me from looking like a fool and talking to myself." His grin was wide as they walked toward the cafeteria. "Plus, it also makes me feel honored that a pretty lady wants to eat with me."

She bit her lip. His winking at her and just being nice to her was just cruel.
Moments later, they were walking to the cafeteria. It would be easier, she thought, if he didn't say nice things to her. She wouldn't be so hopelessly in love with him if he didn't tell her she was pretty.
"You should be honored. I won't eat my lunch with just any healer, you know." She hoped she composed herself well in front of him, but everyone else on staff seemed to know that she adored him, and she gave him more credit that being completely oblivious. She didn't know if this makes things better or worse. She felt like such a silly school girl for all of this.

Tim was usually fairly good at acting like he was oblivious to what other things were going on around him. Although this time, he wasn't making himself act oblivious to Adrienne's actions in response to his own. He just wasn't sure if she was just entertaining him by going along with what he said or if she really did like him. Tim had always had a soft spot for her but he wasn't going to make a move and have it turn out where she didn't like him. He didn't think he could handle something like that. Rejection wasn't something he didn't like to deal with.
"Well, I'm extremely flattered love," said Tim. "I'm sure you go to eat lunch with your brother but I'm honored that I'm your other choice." He let out a laugh and followed in the line. A few people glanced at them and Tim looked back, only to have them look away. "You would think people were sitting there whispering to each other about something the way a few of them just keep looking," he said with a shake of his head.
Reaching the cashier Tim paid for both of theirs without Adrienne's consent, only to look back at her and smile. "Sorry I couldn't take you anywhere fancier at the moment. And before you say anything about me paying for yours, it's just I wanted to." He led her to a booth near the window.
