"I'll grab our coats real quick," he said before they started to leave. Cyrus put on his coat on and extended his arms out so that he could hold Mara while Lina put on hers. He was going to help her, but with Mara in his arms it would have been nearly impossible. "Good night," he said as he started to walk with two of the most important women in his life.
Outside of the home, Cyrus held his elbow out slightly so that Lina could take a hold of it and they could apparate out of there. "Ready to head home?"

Lina let Cyrus hold Mara even after she had her coat on. She knew he hadn't really seen a lot of Mara lately... well, part of that was his own fault. It wasn't like she was keeping her from him.
She sighed and gave him a look, wondering if he was trying to get her to go back to their home. No. "I'm ready for you to take me back to my brother's apartment," she said, making sure he knew where she wanted to go. She couldn't take living with him if they were just going to be friends.

"That's what I meant," Cyrus mumbled. Lina was still staying at her brothers and it was painful. The apartment was eerily quiet and he had settled for sleeping on the couch ever since she was gone. Sleeping in the bed was odd to him now that she wasn't there.
He had been planning something for Lina, and he just had to make the plans finalized. He was going to have to make her see that he cared about her and really loved her. Being alone was getting to him and he wasn't sure how much longer he was going to last without her or Mara.
With a pop, he apparated to her brother's house along with Lina and Mara. "Hey Lina," he said before she could go in. "Thanks for coming tonight." Cyrus gave her a smile. "And there's one other thing. Would you, would you like to go out with me on New Year's Eve? We can go to dinner." His eyes said the word please as he looked at her. She had to say yes to that.

Lina couldn't say no at all. In fact, it did her a world of wonders that he even asked. Afterall, it had been Roland that convinced her to come to Christmas dinner, not Cyrus, and she was beginning to wonder if he wasn't happier with her gone.
"I have to check with Jensen and make sure he can watch Mara, but I would love to, Cyrus." Her own eyes had a desperate look in them that said she was glad he asked. She needed him, and she was just as miserable without him. But she couldn't live with him if this is all they were ever going to be.

Relief hit him when she said she would love to. Now, he only hoped that her brother would agree to watch Mara, which he was sure her brother wouldn't mind. A boyish look crossed his face. "Good," he said. "I'll, I'll stop by tomorrow since it is Christmas after all." Cyrus had something for Lina and Mara that he gotten a little while back. He hid the gifts so that he would have been able to surprise Lina. He wasn't sure how she would take the gift now it they were seperated. Maybe the present could be just the start of him telling her how he really felt.

"Okay," Lina said. "Good. We should both be with Mara on Christmas."
Lina was only glad that Mara was too young to really know what was going on. If they were going to have this arguement, at least it wasn't when the girl was four and thought it was all her own fault.
Lina smiled a little. "You have to admit, Cyrus, the look on your mum's face when she saw me was pretty priceless."

A small laugh escaped Cyrus. "Yeah, it was." He ran a hand through his hair. "But you had every right to be there, and I'm glad that you came. Sorry that you had to be there for that Uncle Blake stuff. I don't even really remember the man." He gave a small shake of his head. Cyrus did wish that she was there as his wife. He even thought about making the comment that he didn't care what his mother thought, but that would have led to another argument and right now, Cyrus was planning. An argument wouldn't do that planning any good and it would probably blow everything to pieces.

"I don't think anyone really wanted to be there for that Blake stuff," Lina said, using his words. "Did you notice how quiet everyone got when he arrived?" Like he owned the place. What right did he had to make anyone in that family feel uncomfortable?
"Come on," she said. "We'll get colds standing out here. Take me home and if you can stay, I'll make some hot chocolate or something." She didn't want him to be alone on Christmas Eve.... not for too long, anyway.

"Yeah. I know," he said. "Nobody likes him, but let's not talk about him anymore. He's gone and that is all that matters."
If he could stay? Of course he could stay. He didn't have anything else to do on Christmas Eve. He would rather spend it with Lina and Mara than alone. "That sounds great," he said as he apparted with her to her brother's.
