"Me too," he said smiling at her. The walk around the town was nice. Christopher only did it with his niece, to make her happy, but Andrea was different. It wasn't family that he was trying to make happy. During the walk, Christopher slipped his hand into hers.
After awhile, he started to led her toward a jewelry store. "I have to pick up a few gifts for whenever I get back home." He knew that Samantha was going to be there, and knew that he needed to pick her something up, as well as the others. Christopher was going to surprise them all and be home for Christmas. He hadn't even told his niece that what he planned.

Andrea smiled and nodded content to walk with him and go wherever he led her. She didn't even realize they were walking to a jewelry store. "Alright." she would have agreed to anything after he took her hand, it was simple and sweet, and similar to the days of old and that noble courtship which surprised her but she wasn't sure why Christopher after all was a gentleman.

He held the door open for her as they walked into the jewelry store. The man behind the counter smiled in greeting as Christopher let the door close behind them. He started to look around to see if he could find anything that he thought that Christine and Sam would like. A necklace caught his eye and it reminded him of Andrea. It was a Blue Topaz type of necklace, according the the label anyway. He didn't say a word but pointed at the necklace. The man picked it up and placed it into a box. Christopher picked up a braclet that he thought that Sam would like. The man at the counter gave him his items as he paid for them.
"Now, that part is finished," he said turning to Andrea, "name a store to go into. You can finish helping me pick out a few things."

Andrea walked into the store and a wave of nostalgia washed over her. It was the day before her family went sailing that she and her father and gone to a Jewelry store to buy something for her brother's birthday which they were to celebrate that night when they got home from their trip. Andrea had chosen the masculine ring which she now wore on a chain that hung around her neck. The ring was a classic signet ring bearing the Fairchild coat of arms and insignia that would have marked her brother Andrew as the next Lord of the Estates, she was never able to give it to him.
Blinking away her sad thoughts she settled her gaze on a beautiful Blue Topaz necklace and concentrated on that for a while until the store owner came and removed it from the display. She shook her head at her musings and turned her attention back to Chris whom she hadn't realized bought the blue necklace, " How's it going?" she asked casually.

Christopher looked curiously at Andrea. "Zoning out are we," he asked her with a playful like tone. He held the bag from the jeweler's in one hand then slipped his free hand into hers again. Christopher led her out of the store and onto the sidewalk. "It's going pretty good. I think I just wiped out one round of presents, now for another round. Since you're a girl and everything, I need your opinion. Usually Christine is with me whenever I do stuff like this, so I just let her pick out whatever she likes. I have an idea, but I think I need someone to second it. Think you're up for that challenge?"

Andrea nodded with confidence but she didn't know how she felt about picking out a gift for Christine, she wished she had the money to do such a thing, still she smiled, " I think that I'll be able to manage." she told him.
She took his hand almost absentmindedly and walked with him letting him lead her, she thought for a brief moment how easy it would be to let him lead her around for eternity then firmly told herself to stop daydreaming.

"Wonderful," he said smiling and walking toward the dress shop.
As they entered, Christopher looked to the shop owner. "Belinda," he greeted her. "Mr. Montgomery," the woman greeted with a smile. "I trust all as been well since the last visit?" Belinda nodded and smiled. "Christine is not with you?" "No, she started school actually. Of course, she didn't want to but she went on and from what I've heard, things are going pretty well." Christopher smiled proudly as he spoke of his niece. "I hope that you have that dress that I sent for for Christine." He squeezed Andrea's hand lightly. "Of course Mr. Montgomery. Are you going to want anything else?" "Yes actually, I am. You know how Christine is. Andrea will help me," he told her and smiled down at her.
Christopher led Andrea away from the counter and toward racks full of dresses. "I don't even know how to pick out what girls really like, so why don't you pick out a few that you like?"

Andrea laughed a little and nodded, "It's a brave girl indeed who lets their uncle pick out their clothing." she teased, "Uncles don't let nieces have any fun." and it was only normal and natural for a protective male to want to dress the little girls in their lives, in turtlenecks and trench coats. She walked along the isles and began looking at dresses, forgetting to ask what size Christine was since Andrea already knew.

"What," he asked Andrea looking at her with an innocent look. "I would let her have some fun. Just nothing really low cut. It doesn't have to be something that would make her look like a mummy. I know Christine, and if I didn't let up on that a little, then she would fight like no other until she succeeded in making me do whatever she wanted." Christopher almost laughed. His niece had admirable traits, that was for sure.

She quirked him a side grin that seemed to just nod. She knew that Christopher was protective of Christine, it was probably a Montgomery trait seeing how protective Christine was of her uncle as well, and Andrea herself had been treated favorably in regards to protection by the younger Montgomery. She had a soft spot for Christine, the girl had been indeed very nice, and now picking out clothes she tried to think in earnest what Christine would like, although she picked many things that she would love to wear herself.

He was full on intending to buy Andrea something. Christopher would have it wrapped, and have it. Even if she didn't sail back with him, he could present her with it before he left. He watched her expressions carefully as she picked out items and smiled as she was doing so.
"Well, I suppose we can go to the check out with those clothes. I'll carry them for you," he said taking steps toward her, taking the clothes from her so she wouldn't have to carry them. "Is there anything eles that catches your eye?"

There had been a beautiful dress that appeared like the sunset having all the oranges and yellows and deep golds that kept catching Andrea's eye, and yet she didn't go near it. In the first place it looked to be extremely expensive, secondly it wasn't exactly what she envisioned Christine wearing...but herself...well yes she'd love a gown like that. She firmly kept reminding herself that she was shopping for Christine and continued down the aisles. When Christopher asked her if there was anything else her eyes fled to that dress once more but she was able to tear her eyes away and smile at him, "No...I think this quite does it, she's a very lucky girl your niece."

Not missing her eyes lingering, Christopher walked up to her and picked up the dress she had her eye on. "I think someone would like this one, don't you think? Of course I have to get gifts for more than one person since the family is going to be there." Christopher made sure that he wasn't saying that he was getting it for her. To him, it looked simple, something similar to an every day wear dress.
"Alright then, lets go." Christopher walked up to the counter. "She is a lucky girl, but that would make me a lucky uncle too. I'm not sure how I would have turned out if she wasn't there." He paid Belinda the money for the dresses and picked up the bag. "Thank you," he said polietly and took Andrea's hand as they headed for the door. "Where to now?"

She bit her tongue to say anything about the dress except for that it was lovely and then walked with him to the counter, he didn't even blink when the charge came up and yet it made Andrea's pulse beat a bit faster indeed.
When they left she took his arm and shrugged when he asked her where she would like to go, " Anywhere ." she answered with a smile, really to her the company was all that mattered.
