Vaughn was beyond nervous. He had been on one date with Nikita Long and he enjoyed himself immensely. His thoughts sometimes drifted back to when he kissed her just before he left her that night. It sometimes distracted him from his work, and he found himself smiling more than what he used to.
He made sure that his hair stood up just right and then he straightened out his clothes, making sure that he looked nice enough.
Vaughn thought that he would take Nikita to the newer club rather than the one in Hogsmeade. He left his apartment and went to the school to pick Nikita up.
Once he reached there, he sighed and stood a little straighter. Vaughn reached his arm up and knocked on her door.

Nikita looked nice. He hadn't told her where he was taking her so she wasn't taking any chances. The universal little black dress came up to mid thigh showing off her well formed legs, yet was considered classy all the same as it swept over one shoulder and tied nicely in the back. She left her hair down in waves and applied a little mascara.
She liked Vaughn. She liked the way he made her feel, she was starting to like everything about this place, especially the stability, she could really get used to it.
With that thought she broke away from the mirror, she couldn't allow herself to get too used to thinks. She shouldn't even be going out with him in the first place. She liked him too much, there would be an urge to continue going out with him...maybe have a relationship, and that just wouldn't do. Not with her history.
She sighed spraying a light scent on her skin when there was a knock on the door.
"He's here." she said with a quiet sigh. She forced herself to look at the mirror and sternly ordered herself to have fun while she could.
The door opened and she caught his eyes immediately, " Hi.."

As Nikita opened the door, Vaughn let out a breath he had been holding in. "Hey," he said a smile growing on his face. He tore his eyes away from hers and glanced her over. "You look nice," he commented meeting her eyes again.
He felt like his heart skipped a few bits. He was actually kind of scared. Vaughn knew that he was falling for her and he hadn't been in a relationship in awhile. He knew that he was a little rusty, but right now everything just felt natural. If he let himself fall completely for her, he wasn't sure what the outcome would be.
Vaughn extended his arm to her. "I thought that we would try the newer club in London. If things are sort of boring we could always improvise and go do something else."

Nikita grinned, " Enchanted?" she asked, " I've heard great things." she commented taking his arm.
Again she couldn't get over how cute he was, not that he wasn't also devastatingly handsome, but the fact that he was a gentleman completely blew her mind. With the men she knew...well a gentleman had become a rare breed. She wondered how long they'd be able to continue to see eachother without her past getting in the way.

"Maybe it'll be fun then," he said smiling. Vaughn led her out, walking at a decent pace. "How have things been going?" He knew that it was the basic question that people usually started out with. Right now he was getting used to the fact that he was actually with someone outside his work place.
Vaughn stopped and looked at her. "Hope you don't mind side apparation." He gave her a quick smile and with a 'pop' he apparated not to far from Enchanted.

"I'm sure it will be" she smiled walking with him, she was absorbed in her thoughts she didn't realize when he pulled her close to apparate.
"Oh no I don't-" they apparated, she was pressed against him slightly having to hold on to him, " mind.." she finished with a smile then she seemed to remember herself and stepped back slightly, though it had felt nice being flush against him the way she had been.

Vaughn gave her a wink after they arrived. He was starting to feel loosened up a little around Nikita, which could be a good, yet bad thing. "Good," he said with a laugh.
He walked with her toward the club, not minding that she had been flushed against him. Tonight seemed like it was going to be interesting and for one night, Vaughn was going to let himself go. It wouldn't hurt if he did do that once, right? They were out to have a little fun and he should liven up a little bit.
"I hope you have pretty good stamina for dancing," he said with a smile.

"Is that an invitation..." she purred then smirked, " or a challenge?" she asked her eyes sparkling at the thought. Nikita couldn't refuse a challenge, and in the arms of a man so terribly handsome she couldn't refuse the invitation either. Men. Would they always be her downfall? Even upstanding ones?

"Maybe a little of both," he said smirking. He used to have good stamia when it came to dancing because Laura would always want to and he hoped that he still had that. After all, he was in pretty decent physical condition, so he didn't see why he wouldn't.
"Drink first?" Vaughn led her to the bar. "After one drink we can go out there for however long you can last," he said with a teasing look. "Sound good?"

"You're on." she nodded letting him guide her over to the bar, unconsciously swaying her hips to the music. She enjoyed his company she couldn't deny that but the more she was enjoying his company the more wary she would become. He did work for the ministry after all and that was something Nikita had no interest in getting too close to.

"Are you sure that you have an idea of what you're getting yourself into," he asked teasingly. Vaughn dropped the thought that he worked at the Ministry and whatever thoughts usually haunted his mind. Tonight, he was going to be who he used to be.
He gave her a wink. "Firewhiskey if you don't mind," he said to the bartender, "and whatever this lady wants."

She laughed lightly at his words. She didn't say anything but her eyes sparkled in anticipation. When he ordered firewhiskey she smirked and did the same, when the shot came she thanked the bartender. Giving Vaughn a shadowed smile she proceeded to down it in one long gulp and then looked at him as if she had raised the bar as far as the challenge was concerned to see if he could keep up with her.

Just as he turned up his glass, he noticed Nikita do the same. He swallowed his just before she did. "Nice," he complimented. "Never seen a woman do that before. However, you have to do more than that to keep up with me." There was amusement still on his face as he took her hand.
"Come on. Let's see what you can do."

Her answer was a smile as she placed her hand in his but instead of letting him lead her to the dancefloor she was by his side walking with him.
Dancing was such a primitive ritual that went back for centuries. An "innocent" way for couples to touch and be touched, however once skin met skin if the chemistry was right the mind had nothing to do with it, the body took over.
"Let's see if you can keep up." she whispered discreetly in his ear before moving with him.

Vaughn would have much rather Nikita beside him rather than behind him. A light laugh escaped his lips as she whispered to him. "I don't think that I'll have a problem keeping up with you. Its you that has to keep up with me." Vaughn winked then started to dance with her.
"I don't give up so easily, so apparently we'll be going at this all night." He smiled. He didn't care if they were going to be dancing all night, as long as they were both having fun, it was alright.

She was treated with a good mixture of respect and attraction. It was obvious that he liked her and he wanted to dance with her, be near her in a purely male attraction sort of way, but he was the sort of man to respect his partner as well. He didn't treat her like an object or a mission and she liked that, she liked it a lot, but it also made her very uncomfortable.
They had danced for a while before a softer and slower song began to play.

While they danced, Vaughn made sure that he wasn't doing anything disrespectful. He didn't want to scare her away from him. The case, everything had slipped his mind. Vaughn was just being the person he used to be. He wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not, but for right now he wasn't going to worry with it.
As the slow song began, Vaughn carefully put his hands gently on Nikita's waist. "You having fun, or am I boring you a bit," he asked giving her a grin.

"Oh yes." she feigned a yawn, "You're boring me terribly." she teased him as her hands went to his shoulders then around his neck. The moment was terribly sweet, everything had slipped her mind as well. She allowed the past to stay where it belonged and managed to keep her mind solely on him but she knew in the morning things would have to change, she was getting in over her head much too quickly.

"Ah, it's not me that is boring you love," Vaughn said teasing her back. "It's you who is boring me." He gave her a playful wink and a laugh. He moved a little closer to her and danced with her to the slow song. Vaughn wasn't sure where the night was going to take them or anything of that sort. He knew that he was out just to have a little fun that he had missed out on. Besides, Nikita was the type of woman that seemed to just draw him in.

"Oh I'm boring am I?" she asked shaking her head and rolling her eyes but smiling all the same, she wished he was boring. She usually would have thought so what with him being a nice guy. Nikita was usually attracted to the bad boys, the living on the edge die hard type, and well that usually got her into a bit of trouble. Good guys like Vaughn, she never thought she deserved, what could he possibly see in her? If only she were more clean cut. She knew that the last thing she'd ever be is boring.
Resting her head on his shoulder she tried not to let her musings darken her mood.
