He laughed lightly. Vaughn was only kidding of course. Nikita was anything but boring to him. Of course, she did make him feel different and she was fun. He couldn't remember a time that he had smiled or laughed as much as he did, since he was with Laura. The negativity that Laura left behind on Vaughn seemed to vanish while he was around Nikita.
Vaughn moved with her as she rested her head on his shoulder. One of his hands were on her upper back, and the other on her lower as he tilted his head slightly so that his cheek was resting on her head. "This makes a good break, don't you think?"

"Break?" she asked with a smile, she was teasing him, "Did you need a break Vaughn?" she asked resting into him just a little more. As a female she had to do all the dancing he had done only in heels she was tired as well and it felt good to be held by him.

"Well, after several of those fast songs, a slow one is nice," Vaughn said smiling. He wasn't going to say that he was tired. Vaughn was a lot stronger than that, and he didn't give up easily. He would have to be passed out on the floor before he would stop.
Honestly, he liked being close to Nikita and didn't mind the fact that his arms were around her. If he would have really thought about this situation, he would have probably attempted to talk himself out of it.

Nikita nodded content to stay silently in his arms she felt weak kneed and tried impossibly to not think about how bad this was, how impossible. She knew that if she thought about it she too would have talked herself out of it, she would have talked herself out of him, and she didn't want to do that, not when she had finally felt like she had found something worth keeping, she didn't want to give him up.
"Very nice."

Vaughn kept Nikita close to him as the song continued. However, it seemed that the song was over all to fast. He left his arms around her as the tempo started to pick up. So far, the night had gone by fairly well, much better than what he first expected. Now that he thought about it, Vaughn wasn't sure what he was exactly expecting.
"Ready to pick up the pace," he asked with a teasing look on his face.

Nikita liked the pace they had been going, while she was not ready to admit defeat, and while she wasn't really tired, she did want to stop for a moment, just slow things down the way the song had slowed things down. They didn't have to talk, which almost certainly would happen if they started dancing, still Nikita didn't trust her words at the moment, she was worried that she would say something or think too much about why she shouldn't continue to be with him. Dancing was the safest alternative so with that she gave a wicked grin, " Always ready."

He let out a laugh. "I thought so," he said smiling. The slow dance was just what he needed to catch his breath and relax for a moment. It seemed as if tonight was a competition of who could outlast the other. Vaughn wasn't going to give up so easily.
Vaughn took Nikita's hand and spun her around before bringing her back to him, making her body flushed against his. He gave her a smile before moving away a little.

Nikita gasped a bit as their bodies came into flush contact but she returned the coy glance afterward and her breathing resumed normalcy after he stepped back. She smiled at his smile and continued to dance with him, she'd dance until her feet fell off but she wouldn't be the one to quit first that was for certain.

"You know, I don't think either of us is going to stop," Vaughn said with amusement over the music, "until we both just drop." He smiled. "I think we're both too hard headed to stop." He was hard headed and that was what helped him be good at his job. However, there was also the down side to that. Sometimes he just didn't let go when he should. He found out the hard way, but maybe he found the right way to help him let go and pull him away.

She cast a sideways glance at him and his comment as she spun out and returned to his arms, " I'm willing to call it a tie if you are." she told him. Very contrary to her nature Nikita did not draw ties, she kept fighting until she won, but there was something mighty appealing about being on equal footing with this particular man and she didn't mind the draw. "But I don't think I want to stop dancing with you yet." she confessed to him a tender look lighting in her eyes, she didn't even notice she was looking at him like that but her heart skipped a beat and she felt like a young girl again, maybe even as if she could be redeemed in his eyes.
