Out In The Chilly Weather (Emmeline)

[Rori Logan]

"Don't apologize Emmeline," she said. "There's nothing to be sorry about. You're friends with him. I don't really see anything wrong with that." Rori gave her a smile. "As for Kris, I don't really think that anyone really likes her," she added in a whisper. "I think that if she wasn't so whiny all the time, she would be alright." She gave a shrug. "But, I think that you'll have a lot of fun at the ball."

Emmeline giggled a little. "Thanks Rori. I really appreciate it." She looked at her goblet and then back at Rori. "Can I ask you something? It's totally girly and I usually don't show my insecure side, but I trust you. And I want an honest answer."

[Rori Logan]

Rori ate a spoonful of pudding before taking a drink of pumpkin juice. She looked back at Emmeline, happy to have found a girl close to her age that she could talk to. It seemed like she had been friends with Emmeline for awhile already, even though she had just really talked to her.

"Yeah, sure, ask away. I'll be as honest as possible."

Emmeline smiled brightly when Rori said okay. It was about time she found a girl to talk to. Emmeline knew that her and Rori would be good friends, if not best. She got lucky when she found Rori.

"Okay. I really like Sirius, but he wants to go to the ball as just friends." She started, putting bunny fingers around the word "friends". "Do you think I should pursue something or I should I leave it at that? I mean he doesn have a history of breaking hearts and everything..."

She listened to Emmeline as she spoke. Rori sighed for a moment while she thought of a decent response. She knew about Sirius breaking hearts, and she didn't want the same thing to happen to Emmeline but she knew that she seemed to really like him.

"To be honest, I think you should do whatever you really think. I think that you should just see how things go. Don't push anything, but just see how things play out naturally. If you want, you could hint that you do like him, but nothing too drastic. If he reacts, continue with that."

[Emmeline Vance]

"You think so? I guess I could drop more hints. I thought I was being pretty obvious....Anyway, where is Leo?" Emmeline asked, quickly changing the subject and looking around the Great Hall for someone that she didn't know. "Is he even here?"

[Rori Logan]

Rori giggled. "Sometimes when we're obvious, it's not obvious to them," she said. "But just keep on doing what you're doing and maybe it will hit him that you like him."

She looked around the Great Hall. "Leo is not here yet," said Rori. "But he should be here soon. He might be just running late or something." At the thought of him, a smile spread across her face. She couldn't help it.

"But if you want me to, one day I could just go talk to Sirius and just happen to mention your name in the middle of a conversation."

[Emmeline Vance]

Emmeline couldn't help it. She had to laugh at Rori. She was just so cute the way she smiled when she thought of Leo. Emmeline was also a bit jealous. Where do these girls find all these great guys?

"You would do that for me? I mean, I'd hate to put you in an awkward situation..."

[Rori Logan]

"It's not going to be awkward," Rori said. "Think nothing of it. I'll see what I can do. I'll just happen to mention that we're friends and casually bring up the question of what he thinks of you or something like that. I'll let you do you keep on doing what you're doing for a couple more days, and if he still doesn't get it, I'll just ask for my personal reference." She grinned.

Emmeline squealed just loud enough for Rori and her to hear. She reached over and gave a Rori a squeeze. "Thank you! I owe you big time! Is there anything I can do? I could sneak into Hogsmeade with you. It doesn't matter!" Emmeline didn't even know why she was all excited, but she was.

"Wait! What's the deal between you and Anonimus?" It was amazing the things you could remember when you were excited.
