While he was there, he resolved to bring up the topic of favorite books. It would certainly be easier if they were surrounded by them.

"Sure, that would be fun." She didn't mind studying with him considering she could focus more on what she was doing even when he was there. "It'll be less boring and whatever I don't get, you could possibly help me with, and of course I can study for my other classes too, and you could help me if you wanted."

[Christine Montgomery]

As others began to flood the classroom she sent a genuine smile up at her new professor, perhaps it was a sign of congeniality, or shared interests at least that promised she'd be a good student if a little ...difficult at times. The trouble with Christine was she enjoyed learning too much, and she had to have a hands on experience otherwise it wasn't worth it, but if you sparked her imagination she'd carry the torch for both of you until you were exhausted from her.

Evan was only minutes behind Severus, and after looking to see that Natalie was not there, and the rest of the room was filled with people he didn't care to socialize with at this point, he took the seat to Severus' right. "Wotcher," he said in a bored tone. He pulled out his Defense text and dropped it on the desk with a heavy thud. The professors around here seemed to think that the student body was not strong enough, so they had all assigned texts that were more like weights than books.

"Hello Rosier." Severus said sitting back in his chair. He felt that maybe he should of saved a seat for Natalie, but knowing Rosier, he would of moved his things and said 'thanks for saving me a seat.' He liked Rosier, but the boy was self centered, not that he could really hold that against him. Severus tapped his notes, leaving black spots of ink on the paper, making them into spidery looking dots. He liked him well enough, so he just thought he'd find another seat for Natalie in his next class he had with her.

[Maxi Borale]

Maxi and Seth walked into class together and sat toward the end of the semi-circle. Though she did enjoy the duel with Sam last lesson, Maxi had much perfered to watch this time. They sat down and Maxi took Seth's hand in her's, giving it a squeeze and smiling at Seth.

[Seth Inophen]

Seth followed Maxi into class and sat next to her. He was in a much better mood than last class, despite the fact that Dueling was now approved by his brother and most likely parents. But he didn't care. Seth chose to take this class so as to learn to defend himself and his friends in case of...well... he wasn't really sure of WHAT exactly, just in case.

They took their seats and he felt Maxi take his hand. He looked over at her and she was smiling at him. "What?" he asked with a laugh.

[Katarina Gresh]

Kat walked into class and was glad to of had shown up on time this class. Last class she had been late because of a running in with Charlotte Monroe, who Kat quickly learned was NOT her favorite person.

Kat took a seat quietly toward the centre of the semi-circle and waited patiently, not really knowing anyone else in the class yet.

[Collin Borgin]

Collin sauntered into Dueling class with a smirk and took a random seat, leaning back and putting his feet up on the desk. A class to learn to fight? Why not? it wasn't like Collin had anything better to do anyway.

[Severus Snape]

Severus happened to see Seth walk into the class room with his Boar, holding hands. He was still very angry with Inophen for his stunt in the common room. If he was just lashing out at him because of everything else in his life, he thought it was Inophen's own fault for even trying with him. Severus hadn't said anything really wrong, he just didn't approve of the Boar's base sort of attacks on Montgomery, but Inophen couldn't take a little bit of critique, so it was his own fault that he now had to deal with Severus's seeming never ending grudge.

[Axel Malfoy]

Axel walked into the Dueling classroom and didn't really know what to do. He smiled though, when he saw his brother Noah's best friend Collin and decided to go sit with him.

"Hi Collin," Axel said shyly as he sat down next to the seventh year.

[Maxi Borale]

"Nothing," Maxi said quickly, turning away with a smile and a blush. She pretended to be focused on the class that hadn't started yet. The room was beginning to fill though and Maxi figured it'd be a matter of time before class actually begun.

Collin looked over to the kid and smirked. It felt like lately Collin was being followed around by his friends' little siblings. Not that he entirely minded. Axel was Noah's little brother, and honestly, nothing like Noah.

"Hey Kid," Collin said greeting him so he'd know he could take a seat.

[Samantha Montgomery]

Samantha wasn't looking forward to this class for any particular reason. Well she enjoyed dueling of course but that was besides the point. Part of her had felt as if she had lost face last class period because of losing the duel to Maxi, even though Maxi's parting shot wasn't the one that undid her. Instead it was Charlotte behind closed doors who had caused Samantha to burn and ache as her muscles tore at one another. Sam didn't know she had two opponents that day, but now she knew that she still had an enemy and her eyes needed to stay open, her mind focused.

She entered the class with no particular pizazz and found a seat. Her head was high, she had nothing to be ashamed of, she was a Montgomery after all.

So busy staying focused, and alert, she completely missed the other Montgomery in the room.

[Christine Montgomery]

Christine didn't miss her cousin though. Like a honing beacon her full attention turned to her cousin when she walked through the door, or rather glided. It had been a very long time since she had last seen her cousin in real life, and while the girl entering the room was almost a completely new face, the Montgomery vitality was felt.

Merlin.

She was so...perfect. Christine couldn't tell whether it was a bad perfect or a good perfect. The grace was easily explained by Samantha's training at Beauxbatons, but there was something else, almost a layer of crystal around her, Samantha was untouchable unlike Christine who was very down to earth. Christine was an adventurous little hoyden and while balancing on a ship for the past few years taught her grace enough, Samantha was a different breed. In fact she screamed well bred. Intimidating. And it was her cousin for Godric's sake.

It was easy to see where resentment might quickly add up against Samantha, you almost didn't like her right away. Perhaps it was the way her head was held high, or that her hair was perfectly coiffed, her skin was flawless, you needed some sort of flaw, something easy going, a smile ...something to make you approachable. Right now Sam sort of looked like she had a stick up her butt, or maybe Christine simply felt that way. Maybe she even felt slighted that her cousin didn't notice her.

Oh what the hell was wrong with her? This was her cousin. "Samantha!"

"Well fine," Seth chuckled, facing the front like Maxi had, but still watching her out of the corner of his eye. His smile was so wide his face probably hurt, but he didn't care. He was finally with Maxi and Seth was probably the happiest he'd ever been.

[Voltaire Rothschild]

Voltaire was pleased at the attendance of his class, so he tapped his wand against the dueling platform, calling everyone's attention.
"Hello class! Pleasant to see you all again!" he said waving in the last rush of students.
"OK! first off, I want us to cover some basics, today we'll see a lower class duel and then compare to the previous duel. I'll need two second years, or two third years, any one care to try out?" he asked moving his hands to indicate that anyone willing should rise, or at least raise their hand. Despite the mishap of the first lesson, he still had high hopes for this batch of students.

[Samantha Montgomery]

Samantha heard her name called and looked up abruptly startled by the voice that seemed familiar yet not. When her eyes landed on her cousin it took a moment to realize who it was, but her face transformed in that minute.

If Christine had thought Samantha cold or "perfect" that welcoming smile the picture of pure joy was so unfeigned and unrehearsed that it shattered any illusions of crystal bubbles.

Unfortunately for the reunited relatives the professor was starting the class.

[Brynn De Luca]

Brynn sat silently on the opposite side of the room, she had made it into the last two classes unnoticed, hopefully she'd make it through this one as well. Brynn wanted to learn to protect her self, she wanted to learn to Duel, but she wasnt sure she was ready to perform it for the class just yet. But if the Professor chose her, she had a feeling she wouldn't be allowed to refuse.

[Rori Logan]

Rori listened as Voltaire started to speak and then glanced around the room as he asked for second or third years. No one was really raising their hand and Rori felt bad for it. Maybe she could just give it a go. Rori raised her hand in the air.

"I'll try it Professor."

[Brynn De Luca]

Brynn saw Rori Logan, a fellow third year, volunteer to try a duel. She frantically looked around to see if there was another 3rd year that could possibly volunteer as well, but it seemed like Brynn was going to be picked. She wouldn't volunteer though, she was too shy for that.

[Ruecain White]

Ruecain walked into the class. He looked around and decide to sit at the end of the semi-circle. He walked to his seat and sat in it. He noticed that the professor was only asking for second and third years. So he just sat and watch to see if anything might happen.
