And We Meet Again (Sirius)

Amy had done pretty good staying away from Sirius as much as she could. Of course it was basically impossible to avoid him completely during class, but it was starting to slowly become easier for her not to look his way all the time. Naturally, she would find herself slowly looking his way, but then catch herself and the do something to keep her attention away.

Everytime he would come around, except in classes, she would turn the other direction and walk away before he saw her. She knew that if she looked him in the eyes her resistance that she was trying to build up would come crashing down in a matter of seconds.

Amy had tried to occupy herself in the common room, but she became bored and needed to go for a walk. Her feet ended up leading her to the Trophy Room. Naturally, it was empty and she looked at all the trophies that had been stored there. Maybe here she could find a few minutes of peace without anyone else around.

[Sirius Black]

Unfortunately, Sirius had the same idea. He'd still been thinking a lot about Amy, and kept looking at her in class when he thought no one was looking. Lately, Kris had become... well, he didn't like to use the word annoying, but there it was. She was always there. It almost seemed like he never had a moment to himself to just think, because whenever he turned around, Kris was there. It was like she didn't want to let him out of her sight. And quite frankly, he was feeling smothered.

So, the first opportunity he got, he headed out of the common room, in hopes of getting a little time to himself. He wasn't sure where he was planning to go, he just knew he wanted to be somewhere that Kris was not likely to go.

After wracking his brain for a place he could go, he finally hit upon the trophy room. No one ever went there. Who'd want to sit in a room with a bunch of dusty old trophies? He tuned and walked right in the direction of the trophy room, sure that this would be the perfect place to clear his head.

But as he walked into the trophy room, he saw that he was not alone. A familiar flash of red hair caught his eyes and he stopped dead in his tracks. "Amy?"

[Amy Icefire]

Amy was still observing the old trophies when she heard the door to the trophy room open. At first, she thought it was just someone else coming in and possibly using the room to think. She wasn't going to bother them, however her eyes widened as she heard her name. She would be able to tell his voice from anyone else's. Why was it everytime she really thought about him in some way, he would always show up? Every time she would go off somewhere to think, he would be there too. What was up with that?

She debated on turning around or not, but she didn't want to be rude. She could look didn't have to look him in the eye. Amy could just stare at the wall beside him and it would still look like she would be looking at him.

Finally, she turned around slowly. "Hi," she said somewhat awkwardly.

[Sirius Black]

Sirius took a breath. What was it about her that made him feel so confused? "How are you?" he asked, stuffing his hands in his pockets. He couldn't look in her eyes, so he focused on a point above her head.

[Amy Icefire]

Apparently Sirius had the same idea and she noticed that he was looking above her head. Instead of looking above his head, she tried to focus on the wall behind him. Amy had her arms crossed in a relaxed manner, but she felt tensed since that he was in the same room.

"I'm alright. What about you?" Amy wasn't sure what else she should say around him at the moment, considering that she felt somewhat out of place. She wanted to run from him but he was standing in front of the door and she didn't want to be rude.

[Sirius Black]

"I'm... great!" he lied. What he wanted to say was that he missed talking with her, laughing with her, and flirting with her. What he wanted to say was that Kris was driving him nuts and he didn't know how much more he could stand. What he wanted to do was kiss her.

Wasn't he over this yet? It had been a few weeks, and there was so much going on. And after the whole incident with Andi, how could he even think about kissing Amy when he was going out with Kris?

But Alice's words suddenly came back to haunt him. And Joey had said the same thing. Was he actually hurting Kris worse by staying with her when he no longer loved her?

The realization hit Sirius like a ton of bricks. He didn't love Kris anymore. He wouldn't have thought it possible to stop loving someone... but he had. Whether that meant he loved Amy was another story entirely, and it wasn't one he was ready to face. But he did know, with absolute clarity, that he didn't want to be with Kris anymore.

"I'm going to break up with Kris," he blurted out, before he even had time to think about what he was saying.

[Amy Icefire]

She could tell that he was lying, but she didn't call him on it. Amy knew that it would probably be best if she just tried to keep her answers short to anything he asked. She also knew that if she gave long answers, then it would be harder for her to leave.

Amy's ears perked up when he said that he was breaking up with Kris. She became curious and part of her wished that it was because he wanted her instead. Of course, that was crazy and stupid of her to think that. Then the other half of her just wondered why he was going to break up with Kris. Her eyes went from the wall to his eyes.

She tilted her head to the side slightly. "Breaking up with her," she asked in a confused tone.

[Sirius Black]

"I... I don't think I love her anymore," he said. He took another breath, and then everything came out in a rush. "She's like my shadow all of a sudden. Everywhere I go, everything I do... she's there. She's clingy and needy and always fixing her hair... she was never like that before. She's changed too much, and maybe I've changed, too. I want someone I can laugh with and have fun with... someone like you..."

Amy didn't expect him to tell her the details, and she was surprised when he did. She opened her mouth to say something, but she quickly shut it after his last three words. Part of her was nervous as could be. She didn't know what to think. Amy wanted to shrink away and just disappear at the moment, but then again she didn't want to. She wanted to walk over to him and hug him as a friend, but she knew that that was impossible. That would be beyond awkward.

However, she did hear him say someone like her. He didn't exactly say her. That eased her mind by just a fraction. "I-I'm sorry Sirius," Amy said not knowing what else to say. "I hope that you find what you're looking for one day."

[Sirius Black]

He finally lowered his eyes so that they met hers. "Maybe I already have," he said softly. He began to move toward her, as if in slow motion. "It occurs to me... I'm being an idiot, staying with a person I don't love, when there's someone else I have feelings for. Instead of hurting only one person, who will ultimately be better off now that she can go find someone who loves her the way she deserves, I'm hurting three people. I'm hurting her by lying to her and pretending... I'm hurting you by rejecting you, and I'm hurting myself by avoiding you. And that's not really right, is it?"

He was now standing right in front of her, close enough to touch. But he kept his hands straight down at his sides. If she didn't want to be with him, now was the time to say it.

Her mind was screaming to leave, but Amy knew that she didn't want to and her feet were not moving. She felt that she couldn't move, and she also felt her resistance had slipped. Amy knew that Kris would be upset whenever Sirius broke up with her, and honestly, Amy didn't want Kris to be upset even if she didn't like her. Of course, this was not really registering to come out.

Amy continued to stare at him as he drew closer to her and she let her arms fall to her side. So, avoiding him didn't really do any good whatsoever. Whenever he asked her a question, all she could do was shake her head 'no'. Her stomach was constantly doing flips. "I tried to avoid you," she managed to get out, "but it didn't do any good. Nothing changed."

[Sirius Black]

"It was the same for me," Sirius said. "I tried to stay away... but I wouldn't be able to stop looking at you in class. I miss joking around with you.... flirting with you... Kris doesn't do those things. But most of all, I miss this." He moved forward suddenly and kissed her.

[Amy Icefire]

Amy wanted to look away for a moment, but she couldn't do it. Her eyes were glued to his. Again, she was about to say something, but she knew what was coming, but yet it still surprised her.

She was still for just a second before leaning a little more toward him and kissing him back. Amy didn't really feel guilty about it although she knew she should have because he was technically still with Kris. For the first time, Amy put her arms around his neck and then she pulled away, bringing her arms back to her side. "Me too," she whispered quietly.

[Kris Lupin]

Kris was so angry! How dare they meet in secret behind her back! She was sure that caveman faced Amy had tricked her boyfriend, but why did he say those terrible things? It was so confusing! She didn't think twice before she ran into the trophy room and pulled that loose girls hair back.
"You! You hussy you! How dare you?!" she shouted almost not making sense, because her voice was pitched in rage. She let go of her hair and pushed her so she faced her and made to swipe her hand across her face. By her logic it was all Amy's fault for seducing the love of her boyfriend away from her, she probably did naughty things with him to keep him so delusional, she knew Sirius loved her!

Obviously, Amy was not expecting Kris to show up at the time. Did she stalk Sirius everywhere he went?

She let out a squeal of pain as she felt her hand being pulled. Her hands went to her hair as Kris had pulled it. Amy had to take a few steps backward because of it. Once Kris pushed her, Amy wanted to pull out her wand and hex the girl, but she wasn't going to since Kris was Sirius' girlfriend still, even if he claimed he didn't care about her anymore.

Amy should have expected that Kris was going to slap her, but she wasn't quick enough to stop it. After Kris' hand made contact with her face, Amy glared at Kris. If looks could kill, Kris would have been dead on the spot.

[Kris Lupin]

Kris threw back a glare and said "I can't believe what a ...an easy girl you are! how dare you come in between my and my Sirius!" tears began to gleam in her eyes, she turned to Sirius.
"I thought you said you loved me! Wasn't I enough for you? wasn't I cute enough?" she said each question while stomping toward Sirius, tears falling in large and over dramatic drops.
"You told me lies while this" she gestured roughly toward Amy " this hussy was drooling over you!" She sobbed and wiped the fat tears from her cheeks. "I mean LOOK at her Sirius! she's a caveman with red hair!" and she sobbed again, fresh watery tears rolled down her face.

[Sirius Black]

Sirius put his hands on Kris's shoulders, trying to keep her away from Amy. "Kris, stop it." He sighed. "I... We should talk, OK? Don't blame Amy for this, it's not her fault. It's mine. Come on, let's go over here and talk, OK? Please calm down." He took her arm and tried to lead her over to the other side of the room.

[Kris Lupin]

Kris sobbed more, "Don't Blame her? Don't Blame her! She's been throwing herself at you since she's meet you!" She covered her face in her hands and cried.
"You're just going to lie to me again!" She tried to twist herself out of his hands and run back to the common room, there she could throw herself into her dorm and cast a privacy charm around her bed curtains.

[Sirius Black]

Sirius sighed. He hated it when she cried. It made him want to take her in his arms and promise her the world. But it would just be lies. "No, I promise, Kris. No more lies. I'm done lying to you. It was wrong of me, and I'm sorry."

Rubbing his hand over his face, he took a breath and looked at her sadly. "Kris, we have to break up."

Kris let out a wail "So you can be with the caveman hussy!" she cried and her face turned a red shade " After everything I've been through, You do this to me? What about you and me and my brother?" she sobbed and felt crushed, she was happy when Sirius had been friends with her brother, it made it seem like they were all part of a big happy family, like one she had never had before. Now that was ruined!
"You're terrible Sirius Black!" and with that she ran out of the trophy room, the idea of both revenge and self pity on her mind.
