Regulus happened to be on one of his usual walks around the school. He usually went for a walk just to see if he could find some kind of trouble. The halls were quiet, that was of course until he heard someone being loud down the hall. Regulus stopped and then he noticed that a blond girl ran out of the trophy room. He quickly realized that it was Kris Lupin. His dear older brother's girlfriend. Although, why did she come running out of there like that? Naturally, Regulus was going to find out.
Hiding the smirk that wanted to etch its way across his face, he made sure that he could stop Kris from running any further. "Whoa now," he said making sure that it looked like an 'accident' that he ran into her. Regulus put on a look of concern as he noticed her face. Kris did look sad and he knew that his brother had probably done something. He hid his smirk well and started to put on his act.
"Are you alright?"

Sirius was torn. He knew he should probably run after Kris and talk to her. He needed her to understand that this wasn't about Amy, it was just that their relationship hadn't been the same ever since school had started up again. The truth was, they just weren't compatible anymore. And it wasn't fair to her to stay with her when he didn't love her anymore.
But he also wanted to talk to Amy. It had to be hard for her to deal with the things Kris had said and done. He'd put her in a terrible position once again.
Finally, he turned to Amy, who was still standing there. "I'm sorry," he said. "She shouldn't have.... She can be so petty..."

Amy didn't know what she should have done. Should she have ran? She didn't know what to think. She did know however, if she hadn't flirted along with Sirius the first time he ever did it, none of this would have ever happened. They wouldn't be in this mess. Yes, Amy was happy that she did meet him. That was something she couldn't deny, but she shouldn't have edged him on. She should have been able to put her foot down and tell him no, but she was weak.
"No, don't apologize," she said. "Kris had every right to be mad with me." Her arms were folded again. Yes, she was upset with Kris for saying the things that she did and doing what she did, but Kris did have a right to get angry.

Sirius shook his head and put his hand on her shoulder. "No, she doesn't have a right to be mad at you. She should be mad at me. This has nothing to do with you. I'm the one who started flirting with you. I'm the one who kissed you, and I'm the one who lied to her. She's blaming you, and that's wrong. This is all my fault."

As a reflex in her current mood, she took a step side ways to avoid Sirius' hand on her shoulder. Amy didn't mean it to be rude, and any other time she wouldn't have minded it being there. However, right now she didn't want it there because whenever he was too close, she couldn't think straight.
"I shouldn't have gone along with it. It's partially my fault because of that." Amy sighed loudly and ran a hand through her hair. She shook her head. Yes it was mostly Sirius' fault, but she should have known better.

Sirius frowned as she pulled away from his touch. He deserved it, certainly, but still, it wounded him. "That still doesn't give her the right to treat you the way she did. She can be mad at me, call me names, hit me... whatever she wants. I deserve it. But she shouldn't have blamed it on you."

Amy had a frown on her face as well and she finally met his eyes again. "I didn't have the right to help make her angry. I should have said no, but I couldn't."
She grew quite trying to pull her thoughts together. Yes, she did like Sirius, a lot, but it would be best to attempt to possibly avoid him for a little while longer until things with Kris settled down. "Look, Sirius, put yourself in her shoes. Say you walked in on her kissing someone else while you were still dating, and you still had strong feelings for her, wouldn't you have been just as angry? Wouldn't you have blamed the other person too?"
Amy cast her eyes over to the side, then back at him. "You should go after her Sirius."

Sirius sighed. "You're right, of course. But she was still out of line. And what's worse is, I don't know how to talk to her anymore. How can I get her to understand that this wasn't about you? And it wasn't her fault, either... it's just that we were too different. I never wanted to hurt her, and now look what I've done..."
He buried his face in his hands and sank down onto a bench that was positioned in front of the trophies. "Remus is going to kill me."

"Just give her a little bit to calm down. Talk to her tomorrow, or even maybe later tonight. She might be willing to listen. You have to try." She quietened when he sank down. Part of her wanted to go over and hug him, but she knew that she couldn't. Amy made sure that she stayed in her original place.
She hadn't even thought about Remus. "Sirius, just try and explain to him your situation. He's your best friend. Maybe he'll listen, you don't know until you try."

Sirius sighed. She was making sense; maybe Kris just needed some time to cool down, and then he could explain to her. He was just afraid that Kris would run and tell Remus immediately. For that reason alone, he should probably have chased after her.
"You're right... I'll have to talk to Remus. I probably should have done it right away, as soon as I started to have doubts about my relationship with Kris. I just... he never wanted me to go out with her in the first place... I'm afraid he's going to be mad..."

"Yes, he might be mad about it, but it is better if you just tell him yourself rather than him hearing it from someone else. Plus, he should listen to your side of the story." Amy still stayed in her place, but shifted her weight to her other foot. She was trying to be a good friend to Sirius. Maybe everything would blow over. Maybe what he just had a little crush on her that would blow away to. It wasn't that she wanted that, but in the current situation that might have been best.
"Just do your best to explain. And you have to talk to Kris. I think that you should go after her. Maybe you can get her to calm down just a little now. If you're alone with her maybe she'd listen better."

She didn't really look at him, but she did notice he was a Slytherin student, so frowned and tried to hold back her tears as she made her way down the hall. |

Kris had stepped around him, but Regulus was not going to let her get away that easily. He had to find out what was going on, plus he should have a little bit of fun while he was at it.
Regulus turned around and quickly caught up with her, taking her arm gently while turning her back to him. "Why don't you tell me what's wrong," he said in a kind voice. "I don't like to see pretty girls like you crying. Maybe I can help you."

Kris shook her arm out of his gentle grasp and said "I have to get to my brother! I have to tell him he's friends with a low life double crossing cheater!" she sobbed again and couldn't believe what she said. Her breath shuddered and she continued to stomp toward the stairs, He wouldn't have a reason to follow her up the stairs.
"Who are you anyway?" she asked scathingly as she reached the stairs stopping on the first step and turned toward him.

Regulus raised an eyebrow as she stepped away from him again. He watched her go, before taking a few steps closer to Kris as she stopped on the stairs. His act was still going strong. Ah, so Sirius did do something completely wrong, not that that was anything new. From what Kris said, Regulus figured that his brother cheated on the girl. Sirius was more like the Blacks than he thought he was.
Being polite, Regulus gave a slight bow in her direction. "I am Regulus. Regulus Black. It's nice to meet you, although I'm sorry for you problem. Is there anything I can do to help in anyway?"

Black?! Kris was shocked "You're his brother? " She took a step away, and turned to look up the stairs, then back at him, she considered for a second and said,
"No, there isn't anything you could help me with! I've got to go ahead on my own!" and she turned to go up the stairs again, but it was slower and not really to get away, she hoped maybe Sirius was making his way to her, to talk to her, to make up with her. It was a false hope, but she clung to it as tightly as she had clung to Sirius.

Regulus decided to give her a confused look. "Who's brother," he asked clueless. "Do you mean Sirius? Unfortunately." He gave a defeated sigh. "I try to ignore that fact however." Regulus rolled his eyes. Kris started going back up the stairs and he hadn't got anything out of her. This was not going to do. "What exactly did he do to make you so upset," he asked as she slowly went up the stairs.

Kris huffed and walked further up the stairs, "I told you! he was...is a toe head cheater! So is that hussy caveman faced Amy Icefire." she got angry again and stomped up to the first landing. Now that her mind was so clouded by her pain and her betrayal, she began to think of revenge, she would let everyone know what a hussy Amy was and she would be an outcast. the thought was a nice one, But how to get back at Sirius? would that be enough? she wracked her silly little head over it as she continued to stomp toward the next flight of stairs.

A slow smirk spread across Regulus' face as Kris turned her back to him. He followed her up the flight of stairs. So, Sirius had done something horrible, well at least to her. He cheated on Kris with Amy. If Regulus remembered, Amy was a red-head in Gryffindor. Oh, this was good. Regulus finally had something on his brother.
"So, Kris," Regulus said. "If you want, I can help you get back at him somehow or another. You see, I don't really like him either..."

"Only if you know how to break his miserable heart, Like he did mine!" she tried to stem the tears, she knew her face was going to be red and puffy, really not as cute as it should be for a girl like her. She was glad it wasn't a full moon or she would be hurting in body and in heart. "I can't think of any of that now!" she turned to face him with red eyes and a sniffle and said "I just need to go. Please! just leave me alone!" and she made to run up the stairs again.
