Roxanne stood perfectly still, holding her breath, though the only sound she could hear was her heart pounding in her ears.
It was the dead of night, and no one was around. For Knockturn Alley, that was a little strange. There were always people here, dark deeds being done... but not tonight. Roxy didn't sare easily, but this was a little eerie.
She had chased a vampire to here, to this one location, and then he had evaded her. At some point, the hunter had become the hunted, and now she just needed to find him and become the hunter again.
She spun around when she heard a swoosh, or something akin to it, but the alleyway behind her was just as empty.

Ryland could have just attacked, swooped down on her and killed her, but she had irritated him and inconvenienced him tonight. So much so that he wanted to play with her before he let her bleed to death from a neck wound. He was toying with her now.
He could see that she was dangerous, that she knew what she was doing and he would have to be careful around her, but he was very old, and he had been evading hunters for nearly two centuries.
He finally made his move, coming up from behind her and grabbing her, forcing her to drop her wand and whatever else she may have been carrying to hunt him down.

"No," Roxy breathed, trying to elbow him to get away, but he was holding her tight. He knew what to expect from her. He was either really, really good, or he knew what she was going to do even before she knew it.

"Your heart is racing," Ryland whispered to her, excited at the thought of tasting the blood that was pumping through her veins right now. "You're scared."
He was pulling her hair, forcing her head to the side to give him easy access to her neck.

Things as far as creatures went, was awfully quite around here. Gregory just decided to check out a few places and see what he could find. After all, he was starting to become bored again. Once he put on muggle clothes, because robes were far more trouble going hunting in, he left out and headed in search of things that go bump in the night.
Knockturn Alley was on Gregory's list. He had a stake in his inside jacket pocket, along with his wand.
He started to search every corner of Knockturn Alley, but before he turned another corner, Gregory could sense there was something wrong. Turning the corner Gregory grinded his teeth together. Maybe he was going to have a bit of fun tonight. "Let her go," he growled out. He hated to see innocents being attacked by things that go bump in the night.

Roxy didn't know who the guy playing hero was, but she was obviously not going to get out of this alone. She could feel the vampire's teeth on her skin, and he had her in a vice-like grip.
So instead, she changed her entire countenance at the drop of a hat. She could play the poor, defenseless doe in need if it helped her for the time being.
"Thank Merlin, please help," she said, looking terrified.

"Shut up," Ryland told her, jerking her a little so that she winced. His teeth were still dangerously near her neck as his eyes turned to the newcomer. He wasn't buying the girl's act for a second.
"I'm willing to let you leave alive. So just turn around."

Gregory was not going to let that vampire off that easily. "You don't talk to a lady that way." He thought about just jumping toward the vampire, but he knew that he would probably hit the girl too.
"I'm not going anywhere," he replied. "You need to learn to pick on someone your own size." Gregory sized the vampire up a moment. Sure, he knew that he was stronger than he was, but if he could get him away from the woman, he would have a better chance at getting him.

Roxy refrained from rolling her eyes. She may have been half of either their sizes, but she could kick both of their arses. Well... when she hadn't slipped up and gotten herself caught.
She sized up the man who had come into play, trying to figure out if he had a chance.

Ryland took a breath and though he were irritated, and sighed deeply. He turned his attention back to Roxanne, breathing in the smell of her blood just below her skin, and he licked her neck. "Looks like you got lucky tonight," he whispered to her. "But we're not done yet."
Wanting to call the man's bluff, he made the move to bite her.

He fought the urge to shiver as the vampire licked her neck. Of course, it was only adding fire to the fuel for Gregory. Obviously, the vampire wasn't going to take him seriously. Anger flashing across his face, Gregory started to walk toward him.
"I said let her go," he repeated quickly moving his hand to the vampire's face. Gregory knew that he could easily break his hand if he wanted, but he didn't care. He was going to stop this from happening.

Ryland growled as the man had the audacity to this, and he flung the girl to the side, throwing her to the ground wth the force of his movement.
He didn't want to fight any more tonight, although he would. He did enjoy a meal that fought back.
"None of this concerns you," he hissed, moving the man's hand. "Don't play the hero."

Gregory looked to the woman for a moment to make sure that she was alright before watching the vampire. "That is where you're wrong. All of this concerns me. You're something that goes bump in the night," he said still observing the vampire. "And I'm not playing the hero. I'm nowhere near a hero."
It didn't matter how many times Gregory 'saved' someone, he never considered himself a hero. "I'm going to try and get rid of things like you."

He was a hunter. That changed things.
She got to her feet, slowly, trying to keep the vampire's eyes off of her so that she could have the element of surprise if she needed it.
She kept a careful eye on the both of them, and waited until they were in a safer environment before she really sized up this other hunter.

"I wish you luck with that. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be a sacrifice for your self righteous causes. I can lay this out very simply for you. I'm hungry, and it's you or her."
He was curious, he had to admit, about why this man hadn't attacked yet. Was he a hunter, like the girl, or an amatuer that thought he was doing a good deed? Either way, one of them would be dead before dawn.

"You're not going anywhere near her," Gregory replied shortly. "So you might as well try me." He wasn't going to attack just yet. After all, he was still observing movements that the vampire made. "Come on, what are you waiting for." Gregory raised an eyebrow at him. There was no way that he was going to let anything too terrible happen to himself, or the woman.

Ryland hissed again, almost inaudibly, but he showed a flash of his fangs.
"As you wish," he said, his voice deep and throaty... perhaps seductive in another circumstance.
And he lunged forward, rapidly closing the short distance between him and the man.

Gregory had readied himself for the vampire to lunge forward. As soon as the made contact with him, he was taken back a few steps but didn't fall backwards. He knew that if he punched the guy in the stomach, then he wouldn't really feel it, so Gregory used one of his arms swiftly to punch in the face.

Roxanne had to wait a second to get a clear shot, and for a moment, there was just a blur of the two men's bodies, but there was a moment before Ryland attacked again where they were still. It was in these moments that Roxanne attacked, when the opponant was judging their next move, or taking a breath.
She fired a curse at the vampire, catching him off guard and causing him to stumble back.

Ryland growled when he caught his bearing again, and it was an unearthly, angry noise. She was supposed to be dying by now, and he wasn't happy that the man had come in now. Now, he couldn't seem to get an edge.
He curse slowed his movements down considerably, and Ryland knew, dealing with two Hunters, he needed to let them go. It wasn't a happy or appealing thought, but if he wanted to escape them, he had to. Tables had turned and he was wise enough to see that.
