He became quiet, speculative and glanced around the library, then as if making a decision stood up immediately, he looked as if he were about to leave but at the last moment he turned to face her and held his hand out, "Walk?"

She looked at him curiously as he stood up quickly. Allaire raised one of her eyebrows as he asked her to walk. She wasn't sure the reasoning behind his sudden question and then eyed his hand. She reached her hand out and took it. "Sure."
Allaire put her book down on the table. The librarian would put the book away. She stood up from her chair and waited on him to start toward the exit.

"Oh wait.." he said just before they exited and turned to one of the stands, he was gone for a moment then returned with two cups of hot apple cider spiced to perfection, "I believe this was requested" he said handing her one then taking her hand again.

Allaire looked at Ashton confusedly again. She stood there staring as he disappeared for a moment, however her eyes lit up when he returned with two cups. A smile appeared on her face. "Thank you," she said as she took her cup in one hand while he took her other one. Allaire didn't think twice about holding his hand, even though she never held a boy's before.
"Where are we headed?"

Ashton smiled when she did then took her outside, " Do we need a destination?" he asked in response to her question, " most of the time I find the journey's end to be much less satisfying than the journey itself...so for now let us pretend as if we don't have a destination at all. Let's just wander."

"No, we don't need a destination," she replied. Allaire didn't mind wandering for she did it sometimes if she needed to find a quiet place other than the library at school. She trusted Ashton enough to not led her in some kind of direction that could have been harmful.
She still held on to his hand and carefully sipped her hot cider as they walked in the cold weather. "During our wandering, can we just so happen to wander to the bookstore at some point or somewhere to eat? We don't have to at the moment, just some point in time?"

"Tell you what.." he said brushing a strand back from her face, it was a seemingly intimate moment only to be counterbalanced with him stepping away quickly, " Why don't you lead us on this journey and let your feet take you wherever they want to go. I'll follow you." he said. His words however were a bit deeper than he intended them to be and realized the connotation he added to them, that of sincerity, wasn't necessarily something he wanted to take back.

When he brushed a strand of hair from her face, Allaire knew that there was a pink tint that appeared on her face. She didn't know where her feet would take her but she nodded. Allaire didn't let go of his hand as they started walking. She wasn't sure if she should have or not, but if he wanted to let go, then she would too.
She slowly walked by a few of the shops while looking in the windows. Nothing special really caught her eye. "If there's anywhere special you want to go, let me know."

Ashton was more enchanted by the company rather than the walking or the destination and he shook his head no when asked if there was somewhere he wanted to go, he was really quite content just to walk with her, for now anyway. He didn't know how long these feelings would last, he didn't count on a long period of time but they were interesting while they lasted.

Allaire took a glance at him from the corner of her eye, but then looked to what was in front of her so she wouldn't trip and so he wouldn't really see her just looking at him. She didn't mind the silence between them, after all it was comfortable. As they past a few people, Allaire didn't really pay that much attention to them. She didn't have any clue as to where she was walking, but she walked directly past Le Repas Cher. She didn't bother to stop because she knew that her brother and Kassia were there and if she could avoid questions from him or avoid Jadon asking Ashton all kinds of questions, that would be the ideal thing to do.
Before she knew it, she ended up in front of the Shrieking Shack. "I wonder what is in there," she said. "Is it supposed to be ghosts or something?"

"Well this isn't exactly where I figured you'd take us." he smiled with a laugh in his tone. He thought the place solitary and eerie, in short it amused him and he was as curious as the next person. He wondered what made it shriek, but at Allaire's questioning he wished he had the answers, " I'm not quite sure."

Allaire smiled. "The Shrieking Shack is one of my favorite places in Hogsmeade other than the library actually. It has mystery to it." She gave a shrug. "Well, were did you think we'd end up?" She smiled again and looked back to the shack. Maybe one day, the secret of the shack would be discovered.
She didn't mind that Ashton didn't know. No one really knew what was in there. For a moment longer, she stared at the house then looked back to Ashton. "I do believe its your turn to led us somewhere."

"Is it?" he asked watching her silently. He was studying her face, her features and her expressions, the way she talked. He was an observer in nature not too social by any means he sometimes forgot that polite conversation dictated that he should speak. He shook his head clearing it, " Come along then." he said returning a grin and leading her in a different direction though he threw a last lingering look back at the shack.

She liked that he didn't say too much or too little. There was a point where someone could just talk a little too much, and Ashton seemed to be in the middle. Allaire made her feet move forward as he started to walk. It seemed that she took two steps in the time he took one, but she didn't have a problem with that because they weren't hurrying off anywhere and her steps were usually small anyhow.
Allaire didn't bother to ask where they were headed because she found herself not really caring. They were just on a walk and wherever they ended up would be just fine.

He led her around, no destination in mind, however where they ended up was like a scene from a Robert Frost poem, absolutely breathtaking trees with bare limbs covered in white snow. He exhaled slowly and watched his breath form a slight fog in the air. There was no words needed to speak, almost as if speaking would ruin the view but he stopped their walking and stood behind her just staring out. He wasn't really a sentimental guy, but he could appreciate the beauty of what he was seeing.

The silence was comfortable and she followed him until he stopped. The scene around them was absolutely beautiful. Allaire looked around, taking in the view. Snow was everywhere and it just looked like something out of a book. Her hands found her pockets as she looked. If she wouldn't freeze to death, Allaire thought that she could just stand here and look at the trees all day.
A thought crossed her mind and she pulled her hands out of her pockets and picked up some snow while making a ball. She looked back to Ashton and smiled playfully.

He mistook her playful smile for something else, not that it would have mattered. He stood there looking at her, she had turned and he realized that she completed the landscape perfectly. She seemed to fit in just there to make the scene utterly perfect, while before he hadn't thought it possible to look more beautiful, he now thought that without her the scene was near obscene to look at, but with her...dear Godric, what were these thoughts?
He was still lost in them he didn't even notice the snowball in her hand.

Allaire moved a piece of hair from her face as she still smiled. She looked back at him with her head tilted to the side. She wasn't quite sure why he was looking at her the way he was, but her smile grew and she threw the snow ball that was in her hand. Once she threw it, Allaire let out a laugh and quickly scooped up more snow. Her playful smile was still on her face as she remained standing in her spot.

Snow hit him in the face and it was a quick douse of reality and cold to his system that made him shake out of his thoughts. He was surprised by her, and then immediately amused. He saw her scooping up more ice and reacted quickly, "Oh no you don't." he said as he ran around her for cover and started getting his own snowball ready.

She laughed again as Ashton ran by her and she threw the one she had in her hand before he could hide. Allaire scooped up another handful and then ran to find her own cover. She hadn't been able to do this with her sisters usually because Fee was too busy with making herself perfect and Kassia, well sometimes she just didn't want to do anything like that and Jadon wasn't always home.
Allaire found cover behind one of the trees and peered around looking for Ashton.
