Allaire stuck her tongue out at Jadon. "Nothing could replace my big brother," she said with a wink. She grinned as Jadon hugged Kassia and then looked back down to her book.
Of course, she looked back up as a question was addressed to her. "As much as I would love to go to lunch with you two, I believe I'm going to finish up this book. I'll let Kassia have her alone time with you right now. I'll probably catch up with you two sometime after I finish this, but thank you for the offer."

Jadon nodded, knowing she was going to say that. "All right, love. We'll be at La Repas, if you finish soon."
He knew the atmosphere of the place was a bit... overdone, but he had to admit, he loved the food. "Enjoy your book, and I'll see you around later." To Kassia, he asked, "You ready?"

Overdone perhaps, but they could afford it of course and they were used to lavish affairs. Not to mention Jadon's being home was something to celebrate anyways. She gave another lingering smile towards her sister before nodding to her brother, "Yes."

Jadon smiled and nodded at Allaire. "We'll catch up later, doll," he promised her. He always felt like he never really got to see her much. His time was divided between Fee, who needed the attention, and Kassia, because he liked to indulge her more. Allaire... was just much too grown up.
Turning his attention to Kassia, he said, "Let's be on our way then. When we're done, maybe we'll stop in and check on Fee."

Kassia nodded softly and turned to leave, however before she did so she went to Allaire then handed her one of the bags she had in her hands then leaned in to whisper, "Jadon's Christmas gift..." she smiled, "Keep it safe?" she asked kissed her sister's cheek then backed away to her brother with a soft smile for Allaire as they were leaving.

Allaire looked up from her book as she noticed Kassia beside her. A smile spread across her face and she nodded. "Of course," she whispered back. Since Kassia gave her Jadon's gift, that reminded her that she needed to get him and Ophelia's gifts as well. She had already gotten Kassia's and made sure that it was already wrapped and hid well before her sister decided that she wanted to look for it.
She bid her siblings goodbye as they disappeared from the library, leaving Allaire alone once again. She turned her attention back down to the book she had been reading, immersing herself in it once again.

Ashton came back from the isle to find her now alone and a smile almost predatory came to his face as he walked over to join her in one of the seats nearby, pretending not to give her any notice as he sat directly by her and lifted the book he had in his hand up to read.

Movement was seen out of the corner of her eye and she glanced that way for a brief moment. The movement had been Ashton and Allaire smiled as he didn't pay any attention to her. If he wasn't going to say anything, neither was she at the moment. If he was playing some kind of game, she could play too.
Allaire casted her eyes back to her book to attempt to finish reading the last several pages.

He cleared his throat then set his elbow up on the arm of the chair next to hers. His arm touched hers and he smiled to himself as the silent battle for elbowroom began. There was really only enough space for one elbow on the arms of the chairs that were placed next to each other so the competition was a way of getting acknowledged without saying a word.

Allaire heard him clear his throat, but she didn't bother to look up. However, she did feel his arm next to hers. Naturally, there wasn't much space for both of their arms. She bit her tongue to keep from laughing but a smile played gently across her face.
She pushed her arm against his in attempt to move his a little more off the chair's arm. Allaire wasn't going to give up on his apparent game.

Ashton was glad she was playing along and didn't find his gesture rude or offending since it wasn't meant to be. He was particularly glad that she was indulging him enough to play the game instead of rolling her eyes at him. Finally he caught the title of her book and smiled "Another romance hmm?" he finally asked gifting her with the arm of the chair.

Allaire continued to smile as they played their game, but she finally glanced over when he spoke. "Yes," she replied. "It's my most favorite book, Pride and Prejudice. Whenever I was glancing over the books, I was stuck in between reading Jane Eyre or this one again. Guess I was in the mood for Mr. Darcy instead of Mr. Rochester today." She gave him a smile. "What are you reading?"

"Nothing important." he said lightly laying the Count of Monte Cristo down on the seat beside him. It was one of his favorite novels even if it was written by a muggle. He was surprised to hear that the book had been requested by someone else and so he'd have to return it, which was why he was in the library as well.
He smiled, "So is it true then that any man in possession of good fortune must be in want of a wife?" he asked knowing she was at the age where she'd be meeting many men of good fortune.

"The Count of Monte Cristo," she said as she read the cover. "I've read that one once or twice." Allaire sat back in her chair relaxed and comfortable. "I guess it is true. Plus, I think it most men of fortune just want to marry for appearances and repuation rather than for love. I would rather have the opposite than be stuck somewhere where I'm not really cared for."
She gave him a smile. Money didn't matter to her, although if she could find a man like Mr. Darcy and have a loving relationship, she wouldn't say no to that.

But who would buy you baubles and trinkets? He thought to himself. Surely a girl like Allaire would like pretty things, he knew her sister Ophelia did, but at the same time he didn't know much about Kassia or Allaire, and ye was finding the younger of the two most intriguing, though he couldn't put his finger on the why or wherefore.
"Tell me what an ideal relationship to you would be then." he asked her lightly.

"An ideal relationship?" Allaire thought for a moment. "For starters, there has to be room for disagreement on somethings. Everything couldn't be just plain out perfect, for that would be boring. There would be laughter but also seriousness when it was the right time for it. We would get along, and when I would try to possibly sneak up on him and he knew it, he wouldn't say anything right away. He would go along with it until I got right there." She paused another moment to gather her thoughts again. "It wouldn't matter how much money his family had, it would just matter how much fun and how much care there would be. Stolen kisses would happen every once in awhile. When space was needed, it would be given."

Ashton listened to her and thought she was perhaps the most beautiful naive girl he had ever known. Did relationships like that still exist? Innocent or sweet? Something gentle was something to be wary of, it made a man soft, but surely Allaire deserved soft, perhaps the man she married would be soft, perhaps she would have her ideal. He smiled, " I wish you all of that and more."

Of course, her ideal relationship only really occured in books. She wasn't sure if she would ever find anything like that, but she wouldn't give up looking. Allaire didn't want to end up with someone who only wanted her for appearances, then shove her off and locked her away. There was not going to be any of that.
Allaire returned Ashton's smile. "Thank you," she said politely. "What about you? What is your ideal relationship?"

"That's a good question." he said thinking about it, then he sighed, "You know I don't think I can put it into words," he smiled faintly, " I don't think' I'd want to, if I did I'd have all these expectations, and expectations usually lead to disappointments." he said solemnly, but then to lighten the mood he shrugged, " I suppose that is why books are usually so fascinating, real life is too complicated."

"That's true," replied Allaire. "However, even though that is an ideal relationship for me, I don't fully expect it. Some points would be nice, but it doesn't have to be all of that. As long as I'm not just for show, I would be happy with that." She smiled. "Books are an escape from reality and it's a great place to be. I like to read happy endings, but then again who doesn't? Although life is quite the opposite, so what ever happens, happens."
