Tyler kept in mind that Ophelia mentioned that she was going to be in the library. He honestly didn't want her to leave the kitchen whenever she did, but hopefully she would actually come the library. Plus, he was planning on going to the library anyway to finish up a little bit of work and do a little more studying.
Once he grabbed his quill, parchment, and his bag, he went to the library and smiled to the librarian as he walked in. Tyler set his stuff down on a table and then disappeared in the rows of books to pull a couple off the shelf before returning to his seat.
He sat down and opened a book and started to read a page, then started to finish up an essay he needed to finish.

Ophelia went back to the common room with Kassia and went directly up to her room to fix her hair. It took her more than 20 minutes to repair the wayward curls and tame the hint of frizziness that had started to creep in from the warmth of the kitchens. But when she was done, she looked perfect as always. She was just glad that her sisters didn't share the same dormitory with her, so that Kassia wouldn't keep giving her that warning look that she kept seeing while they were in the kitchens.
She was excited about the prospect of seeing Tyler again, although she couldn't exactly say why. There were cuter guys in Slytherin. And Tyler kept calling her that annoying nickname. But there was something about him that drew her in, made her want to get to know him. To hear him compliment her and tell her she was pretty. It was all harmless, right? Just a little flirtation. It didn't mean anything.
After touching up her makeup, she gathered up her books and headed downstairs to the common room. She waved to Kassia, telling her she was off to the library and not to wait up for her.
A few minutes later, she walked into the library and immediately began to look for Tyler.

He continued to bury himself in his book while he tried to finish the essay. His handwriting was actually pretty neat and Tyler had to make sure that his writing was legible.
Something brought himself out of his work. Tyler looked up and his eyes set on Ophelia almost immediately. He noticed that she had redone her hair and her makeup. Of course, she looked absolutely stunning, but then she looked absolutely stunning early when she entered the kitchen. He thought that she looked gorgeous anyway she appeared.
Tyler couldn't tear his eyes off of her for a moment. She looked like she was looking for something, and an amused expression came across his face. He looked down at his paper and if she looked his way, he could make it look like he was working instead of looking at her.

When she spotted him, he appeared to be deeply engrossed in his work. She broke into a smile. He'd caught her hint. Not that it had been subtle or anything. In fact, it had been rather blatantly obvious, but she didn't really care.
But one thing was certain. She couldn't just walk up to him, like she had been expecting to see him there. No, she had to play it coy. There was a table nearby his, so that if he looked up and slightly to the left, he would see her immediately. Especially if she was facing his direction. So she chose this seat and walked over to the table and made a big deal about setting down her books and spreading them out around her.

Tyler watched her from the corner of his eye, but then looked back to his book as he noticed that she was taking a table nearby.
Once her movement caught his eye, he looked up and didn't mind if she noticed that he looked up. A smile creeped across his face as his eyes showed pure amusement. Tyler watched for a moment before letting out a chuckle. He watched her in amusement again.
When she looked in his direction, he smiled and bowed his head. "Evening Ace."

Ophelia looked up innocently. "Oh, hello," she said. "I didn't see you over there. Fancy meeting you here in the library. If I didn't know better, I would think you came just because you knew I was going to be here." As she spoke, her cheeks colored a delicate pink and she began to twist a lock of her hair around one finger. "I see you finally finished your hot chocolate."

"Well, the library is a quite place and not too many people come in here. And it just so happens that we ended up having to go to the same place tonight, just like the kitchen." Tyler gave her a wink. Her cheeks had that pink glow again and he couldn't help but a smile on his face.
"Yes. Drinking hot chocolate slowly doesn't affect you as much as drinking it fast would. Plus, I don't really think that sugary things really get to me all that often." He looked to her table which was scattered with books. "If you don't mind my asking, what are you working on Ace?"

Ophelia smiled. Gathering up her books, she moved over to his table and sat down across from him. "There's certainly no point in talking across the room," she said primly. "It'll only make the librarian angry."
For a moment, she didn't say anything as she rearranged her books in front of her and then paused to fluff up her hair with her hands. "Oh, I'm working on something for Charms class," she said vaguely. In truth, her charms assignment was really rather simple and wouldn't take her long to complete. She also had a test to study for in astronomy, but that wouldn't take her very long, either. She didn't take the more labor-intensive classes, like Potions or Herbology or Arithmancy. "What are you working on?"

"Charms? I finished that assignment already. Although I do have a bit of Arithmancy to do. Then I could always study for potions." Tyler gave a shrug. "Nothing too bad." He still had amusement on his face as he watched her. Right now, she still looked amazing, even up closer after she 'refreshed' herself. Although, he thought that she could probably go in something hideous, but still look good, but then again that would just be his opinion.
"Need any help with your Charms assignment?"

"I don't take Arithmancy," Ophelia said, bypassing his question. "I thought it would be too hard. What is it like? Is it interesting? I never was very good with numbers." She leaned forward with her elbows on the table and began to twist one blonde curl around her index finger.

Ophelia's bypassing of his question didn't go unnoticed, however Tyler didn't comment. "Arithmancy is not that hard as long as you pay attention and read. It deals with numbers really, and I do find it interesting. You can find out a lot of things when it comes to Arithmancy." He smiled at her.
"What subject do you find interesting?"

Ophelia smiled. Of course, the only subject that really interested Ophelia was herself. On that topic, she could talk for hours, and she had spent a lot of time studying the subject as she sat at the mirror in her room, admiring her reflection and fixing her hair. But she wasn't going to say that. Even though it was true, she knew better than to admit it to him. "This might sound strange, but I really like Astronomy and Divination. The stars are so pretty and it's so interesting to think that there could be other people out there, you know? And the stars can sometimes predict the future, which is why I like divination. I'm really good at divination, too... Professor Simple thinks I have the gift!"

Tyler sat up and was interested in what Ophelia said. "Oh no, I don't find that strange at all. Astronomy and Divination are really great subjects. I find them interesting too actually." He chuckled lightly at the last part. Ophelia was gifted in more ways than one, and he didn't mean that in a perverted way either. She had him sort of mesmerized, and wanting to talk to her more and more.
"That's cool. It would be sort of cool to be able to see into one's future, but I like to take my days one step at a time and step into the unknown."

Ophelia smiled. "I guess I'm not one for adventure," she admitted. "I want to know what happens, so I can be ready for it. Like, who I'm going to marry. But I don't want it arranged for me... I want to fall in love. I want to be the one in control of my own destiny, not anyone else. Even my father... I love him, but I don't want him to decide my life for me. I want to make my own decisions based on what is right for me, and if I can use divination to help determine that, I will."

Tyler didn't care to much for the arranged marriages. His parents were arranged to be married, and they couldn't be more happy, but Tyler wasn't sure if he wanted that. His father said that he was going to let Tyler pick the girl for himself.
"Ah, you say you're not one for adventure, but falling in love is an adventure in itself," he said. "Everything is an adventure, unless you are just given everything and accept it for being that way." Tyler put down his quill and his whole attention was focused on her. "But I suppose using divination for that would be sort of cool."

Ophelia felt her cheeks getting warm as he focused his full attention on her. He really was kind of cute, she realized. "Well, I suppose what you say is true, then," she said. "As much as I like everything to be perfect, I don't like things to be so rigid and structured. And I don't like things to be decided for me, without me having a say in it. That's more like Kassia. She just accepts what she's given and doesn't ever ask for more." She smiled and leaned a little closer to him, her eyelashes fluttering cutely. "As for me... I don't want to settle."

"Life is not really any fun if you have everything already planned out. It's okay to have an idea of where you want to go in life. That's perfectly reasonable, but to have someone else plan it for you, there's no fun." Tyler rested his elbows on the table as she leaned closer to him. She really was pretty, but Tyler wasn't about to say that. One, he would probably look like a fool and two, Ophelia probably got that a lot.
"It's always nice to meet a girl that wants to chose her own path. I mean, sure there are plenty of girls that want to, but they end up sitting back while someone else steers them instead of steering themselves." A smile started to play on his lips again. "Although, Kassia does show that she has strong trust in her family, according to what you say. That could always be a good thing too. However, trying to be independent I think is better. My parents were arranged to be married. They are pretty happy with each other, but my father sees that I should be able to chose someone on my own."

Ophelia smiled. She certainly thought of herself as an independent girl. Although she loved her family and loved being spoiled by them, she had her own ideas about things and how they should be. Ophelia had never had to face the cold hard realities of the world, everything was always sugar-coated and and bright. That was the way things were supposed to be, as far as she was concerned.
"If you can choose whoever you want, what kind of girl would you choose?" she asked, twirling her hair around her finger playfully.

The kind of girl he would chose? Tyler thought for a moment on that. What did he really look for in a girl? "For starters, she does have to be independent in a way. She has to let me do somethings for her, like pay for things, carry bags, that kind of thing. She has to be caring to those around her, naturally she has to be trustworthy."
Tyler stopped for a moment, and thought for another moment. "Looks are not the most important thing for me. Personaility I think really makes the person. And, she has to be able to deal with any sarcastic, joking comment I make, and she has to come back with her own kind of comment. Most importantly, she has to make me smile and laugh." He smiled at her with a slightly curious look. "What about you? What do you look for in a boy?"

Ophelia listened with great interest to what he said. The only thing she didn't understand was when he said that looks weren't important. To Ophelia, looks were very important. Especially hers. She was beautiful and she knew it, but she was so obsessed with her appearance that she didn't realize that she had other things to offer.
"Well," she said in answer to his question, "he would have to respect my opinion, and not treat me like I'm dumb, just because I'm a girl. He would have to make me laugh. He'd have to be smart, so that we could have good conversations together. And... he'd have to give me lots of compliments." She giggled at this last part, but of course, she wasn't kidding.
