Beautiful, Anna thought. Ursula's intentions were perfectly clear, and Anna welcomed them. It was so difficult these days to find another woman who was interested in women, let alone one she'd get along with.
"I'll have a firewhiskey, as well," she told the bartender, slowly turning her attention back to Ursula. She held out her hand to the woman. "My name's Anna. It's a pleasure to meet you outside of our dreams, Ursula."

"The pleasure is mine, Anna," Ursula said, smiling. It was certainly rare to find a woman as beautiful as she was who was open to a relationship with another woman without a little convincing, or at least a decent quantity of alcohol. But her instincts about Anna had been right.
The bartender placed their drinks in front of them and Ursula took a quick gulp from her glass before returning her eyes to Anna's. She wasn't one for small talk, but she allowed that a little was necessary, at least. "So, what do you think of this place?" she said, gesturing vaguely. "It's definitely different. Pretty good turnout, too."

"It's all right," Anna drawled. She had been invited to a few very nice clubs in her time... clubs that made this one looks like a child's play room, but for the public clubs, it wasn't bad.
"I'm afraid I haven't been in London long enough to really explore... is this the only club?" She didn't mean for the question to be condecending, she was just curious. She had been away for quite a while, and she knew this club was new, but perhaps there were others?

Ursula took a sip from her drink. "Eh, there are others, if you don't mind hanging out with muggles. I don't mind it, really... I find that muggles really know how to have a good time." It was a controversial opinion for a death eater, to be sure, but Ursula didn't care. "But this is the only wizarding club in London. There's another in Hogsmeade, though. I think this one's a little nicer, but that might just be because this one is new."
Tilting her head to one side and smiling flirtatiously, she continued, "So does this mean you're new in town?"

Anna shrugged. "No. Not really. I grew up here when I was little." She didn't mind talking about herself. In fact, she usually loved it. "I've just been out of town for a few years, and I didn't realize how much it would change. London just seems like one of those old cities that never changes, no matter how long you're gone... but appearantly it does." Once she got going, Anna could talk up a storm. The one thing she was usually quiet about was her profession, though.

"Just returned to town," Ursula repeated. "It seems like a lot of people are coming back after being gone for a few years. My daughter just came back from the States a few days ago." She nodded towards Nathalia, who was still dancing with the boys. "That's her there."
She looked back at Anna, her eyes sparkling with interest. "If I didn't know better, I might think that all of you have some inner knowledge of something big going down that I don't know about."

"Daughter?" Anna asked, her eye trailing back to the girl who had stolen her entourage. She was slightly discouraged by this. "I would have guessed sisters."
She even passed on the joke that Ursula made about everyone coming back to town. "She's beautiful," she said, complimenting Ursula. It was a compliment to the parents when you said how pretty their child was, right? The girl was very pretty, and had Anna been straight, she would have been jealous. She still was, a little.
"She looks a lot like you, actually. But I still imagine the father is... as devistatingly handsome."

Ursula glanced back at Nathalia. "Thank you. She is beautiful, and independent, too. I raised her to be her own person and not what people expected her to be. Her father... well, let's just say he was a mistake I made in my experimental youth. I don't know where he is now, or if he's even still alive. He was a lot older than me." Focusing her attention on Anna, she shrugged. "He was the first and only man I've ever been with. Nathalia is the only good thing that came from that disastrous affair."

"You're first... and your last?" Anna asked. She wanted to make sure that she was reading Ursula right. No sense in wasting her time. Past that, she didn't really care about the man, though one more glance at her daughter begged the question of daddy issues.
Her attention finally returned to Ursula. "I had one of those disasterous affairs. Everyone thought I was joking when I said I was swearing off men." She laid her preference out there in the open.

Ursula nodded firmly. "Absolutely. First, and last. It was a mistake... I tried to conform with what I was supposed to be... But even then I knew." She finished her drink and ordered a refill. "I actually did love him in a way, but it was self-destructive. I was always trying to be something I'm not, just to please him. Finally I left him and I've never looked back, even after Nathalia was born. I consider her to be the payback for the whole mess."
She didn't really like talking about Nathalia's father; her behavior back then shamed her to think of it. She had never told the particulars to anyone, and she kept the truth close to her chest. It was not because she still harbored any feelings for the man, but rather, she wanted to protect Nathalia from knowing about it.
"I'm sorry for your bad experience with men... but I'm glad, too... because now you're here, talking to me."

Anna's smile was seductive, and all too easy for her. London had changed a lot if it was this easy to find a similarly minded woman.
"The night is still young, Ursula, you're daughter is doing fine on her own. What do you say you finish that drink, and we'll continue our conversation on the dance floor?" She had brought Ursula over because she did really want a drink, and she wanted to make sure her assumptions about the woman were correct. Now that she had both, she wanted closer to the woman, and she wanted to dance.

Ursula returned the smile, then raised her glass in a silent toast before draining it of the rest of its contents. "Sounds good to me," she said. She didn't give Nathalia a second thought, knowing that her daughter could take care of herself perfectly well. "Let's go." She waited for Anna to walk ahead of her, not out of any feelings of doubt, but because she rather liked watching the woman walk. She had a beautiful figure, not stick-thin like was becoming all the rage these days. She had curves, and better yet, she knew how to use them.

Anna had no problem leading them both to the dance floor. Every step she took was one of confidence and agility and grace, and the sense that she knew al of this. She had a body and she knew how to use it.
When they were in the middle of the dance floor again, she turned to face Ursula curious to see how well the woman could dance. It said a lot about what a person could do in the bedroom, and she would be lying if she said she didn't think of that very early on.

Ursula had never been one for practiced steps or organized dances. But she had an easy, athletic grace when she moved, and when she danced, it was with smooth, fluid movements that showed of her lithe form. Even with the choppy, bass-heavy music, Ursula seemed to become one with the music, allowing the rhythm to guide her as she moved.
She didn't touch Anna as they danced, but she stood very close, blocking the way for anyone else who might attempt to dance with her.

Anna did not hide the fact that she was openly appreciating Ursula. She watched as the woman danced, her body fluid and agile, and it made her smile. Her own dancing was slightly more refined, if only because she had taken a few intense classes for a role she had once had in a film.
She took a step closer to Ursula so that their bodies brushd occassionally as they danced, and she met Ursula's eyes with a smile.

Ursula couldn't help but appreciate the way Anna's body moved to the music. She was very skilled in her movements, and she seemed in complete control of her body. Every time their bodies touched, Ursula could feel the electricity between them. Everything else seemed to fall away; the music, the other dancers, even Nathalia. It was just her and Anna. She silently wondered to herself how long it would be appropriate to wait before inviting her back to her place.
As the current song ended, there was a tiny break, during which Ursula commented, "You're a very good dancer. You look like you've had some practice."

"I've had some training," She replied enigmatically. She had been in a musical once, a muggle one, and spent over a month with the other actors learning the dances. She was also blessed with an agile body anyway, and dancing came easily to her. She could have returned the compliment, but it would have sounded cheap at that point, so she did not.
"Are you good at recognizing whose had practice?" In other words, how many girls had she said that to? Anna shoul have realized it was just a way to start small talk, but she was a jealous girl.

(I totally missed that you replied to this thread.)
"I wouldn't say that," Ursula replied casually. "But in my family, dancing lessons are pretty much mandatory, at least for a little while. Of course, I usually skipped out on mine and went for a smoke instead." She laughed. "I always was the family rebel. Instead of ballgowns and formal dances, I was much more at home on the quidditch pitch or doing muggle sports. I particularly like kickboxing and the martial arts. Since I took them up, I think my dancing has improved."
Moving a little closer to Anna, she smiled her enigmatic smile. "What about you? What kind of dance training did you have?"

Annalise's attention was caught by something in particular, and she delayed answering the question for a moment.
"Speaking of, I don't suppose you would have a smoke I could bum off of you, would you? I haven't had one in days." It was her one vice, really, and she always needed to brush her teeth after she had one, but she liked the way they relaxed her.
"I had some muggle training, actually. Jazz and Ballet. I didn't stay with them for very long, but I'll admit I enjoyed the lessons. And the woman teaching us." She added the last part boldly, smiling at the memory.

"I do have some on me, actually," she said, winking flirtatiously. "They're in my pocket." She tapped her left pocket, which was the opposite side from where she kept her wand. Licking her lips, she smiled seductively. "Tell you what?" she said. "Why don't you come over here and get them yourself?"
