"I love that you know my brothers so well," Jackie said softly. Somehow, over the last six years, they had learned everything about each other. Dean was the only one she realy trusted with her secrets, or her life. Merlin knew she trusted him with her life nearly every day when she went off on one of her adrenaline rushes. While she had always looked for someone she could spend the rest of her life with when she dated, even as young as she was, Dean was always the one that she couldn't imagine spending the rest of her life without.
"Okay," she said, stopping in front of the Quidditch section. "Which one is it?"

"Oh, that reminds me, I have to think of something for my own brother. I remember he said something about a quidditch book too." Dean looked over the shelves and his eyes landed on a book on the top shelf. Naturally, he didn't have a problem reaching it. Once he got it down, he showed it to Jackie. "This is the one that your brother wanted. Quidditch: The ins and outs of tricking your opponent."
He kept holding onto the book, and looked down at her. "Is there any special book that you would like?"

"I already got your brother a gift too. Honestly, I only have my family and your mum left to shop for," she said. As scatterbrained as Jackie was, she could pull herself together when she needed to. She was usually very good at schoolwork (she started well in advance in case she got bored) and reembering other people's birthdays and holidays.
She didn't quite catch his meaning a he held onto the quidditch book, and she reached for it. "No, just this one."

"I still have to really shop for your brothers, my brother, and both of our parents. So that's everyone but you." Dean had to plan in advance for Jackie because he didn't want her to know what he was getting her this year, although it wouldn't hurt for her to know one thing, that is if she tried to get it out of him.
"Alright. So all we have to do is check it out and then head towards a different store. Oh wait." Dean reached up and picked up another Quidditch book. "Now we can go. I found the book my brother had been wanting."

"What did you get me?" she asked, rather bluntly this time. "What store is it from? You can tell me that and I still wouldn't know exactly what it is..."
She took his hand again while they both had a book in arm. She felt like they should plan out which stores to go to, but she never stuck to an agenda.
"If I hadn't gotten you a gift already... what would you want, Dean?"

"I'll just say it's from one of your favorite stores," Dean said. "I'm not going to tell you directly, although it should narrow it down, because it's one of the things that you've been wanting for awhile now." A gave her a grin. That wasn't too much information, plus it wasn't even the gift he was really trying to hide from her.
"Hm. Let's see. You wrapped up in a big box in red wrapping paper with a huge big blue bow on top."

One of her favorite stores.... she had a few. This book store was one of them, actually. And he asked her earlier if there was a specific book that she wanted. Hmm...
She pressed the corners of her lips together as she thought about this, but his Christmas request made her burst out laughing. "Oh yeah? Well, I'll see what I can do," she said, actually half entertaining the idea.

"Oh, you think my request is funny? I'm being quite serious." Dean winked at her. "That would be the best Christmas gift ever, although I think I did get a gift early this year." He kissed her cheek. "But if you really want to amuse yourself and jump out of a box, that would be wonderful. Of course I would still be surprised."

They got in the queu for the checkout, and Jackie shrugged defensively. "I said I'd see what I could do. Getting into your dorms wouldn't be all that difficult. But I think it would amuse you and your dorm mates more than it would amuse me."
(Short again, sorry)

"Oh, my dorm mates wouldn't even be in there if you jumped out a box. They would get a thrill out of it," he said with a shake of his head. "And you can call me selfish if you want to, but I don't really want to share you." Dean smiled sheepishly.
"Besides, I might think of something creative to do on Christmas to make sure you're awake. I'll have to think about it first though."

"No," Jackie said, shaking her head. "Why on earth do you need to make sure I'm awake? You know I'll come to you when I'm up."
She got a sort of warm feeling at the thought that he, a he phrased it, "didn't want to share" her. She wrapped her arm around his waist as they waited in line.

"Yes," he replied. "I need to make sure that you're awake so that we can open up gifts silly! Plus, it's a little pay back from all the times you've waken me up. Although, I don't exactly have to wake you up on Christmas morning. You're more than welcome to wake me up...." An idea was forming in Dean's head and he tried to hide the smile that threatened to show up on his face.
Dean put his arm around her as they were in line. Finally, they reached the counter and he paid for the books. "So where are we going to now Ms. Frazier?"

She was quiet about that comment, about waking him up, considering it a little more seriously than she thought he meant her to. She was getting an idea as well, but who knew if it was the same he was getting?
"Maybe I'll just have to wake you up first," She threatened, though she was teasing him. "You know I'm grumpy if I don't wake up on my own."

"You can come just wake me up on Christmas morning if you want, or of course I can come wake you up. I'm sure that I will make you ungrumpy. Besides, you could still end up waking up on your own." He led her out of the bookstore and into the street. A playful look grew on his face. "We'll just have to see how things work out. Although I think it could work out wonderfully either way."

"I could wake up with you on Christmas," Jackie said, her voice soft but still loud enough for him to hear her. She wasn't offering anything, really, except a night in his arms. She suspected she would get more out of the deal than he would. But, thinking on it, they had never spent the night together. They had fallen asleep watching movies or things like that, but nothing more. She sort of really wanted to fall asleep in his arms now, knowng that he was glad to have her there.

"I think that we can arrange that," he replied in the same soft tone Jackie used. His face turned a slightly pink. Dean had thought about asking her to spend the night before, but he knew that it would be slightly awkward if he did, now it wouldn't be. "I just hope I don't snore." He gave a laugh.
"Where are we headed right now, anywhere special you want to go places before I need to pick up things?"

Jackie smiled, but let that conversation drop. Now, however, she was really excited for Christmas Eve to come around, even though she was sure she would end up falling asleep with him before that. Maybe she'd make him wait for Christmas Eve... if her own resolve could last.
"I wanted to go to Honeydukes, actually," she said, since it was right across the street. "I ran out of the peppermint snaps I like, and I promised my mum I'd pick something up for her. Do you mind?"

"Of course I don't mind. It involves candy, does it not," Dean responded leading them in the direction of Honeydukes. "I need more of those peppermint snaps too. I ran out of the stash I hid for emergencies. Naturally, I blame you for getting me hooked on them!" He gave her a teasing look. "And then licorice is in need as well, again, I blame you for that addiction too."
He opened the door for them and let her led him in. Dean greeted the clerk and followed Jackie down the aisles.

"I have a sneaky suspicion that you would tell me you were okay with anything I wanted to do. Not that I mind, of course," she told him, leading him down the isle with the licorice first. She picked up a bag of them and held onto them, determined to not let him pay for everything. Sometimes he was just too gentlemanly. They were friends, they did everything together, and that included paying for things.
"Gwen was telling me about these new chocolates they have... they taste like tea, appearantly. I should get you addicted to those, too."

"Well, your sneaky suspicion would be correct, however it depends on that anything. As long as it's nothing extremely extremely life threatening, then I would more than likely agree." He picked up two bags of licorice and held onto them, after looking at Jackie questionably as she clung to her bag of licorice.
"Chocolates that taste like tea? I suppose I could always get a bag and try..."
