"I just won't leave your side until I can figure out what it is. I'll be terribly irritating, so you may as well tell me now," She said, raising her eyebrows. She wasn't very patient, so presents were never eas for her. She always wanted to know. And it irritated her, in a friendly way, that Dean was so laid back and patient that he never even asked for hints. It was a good thing though, because she would probably end up telling him, and he knew it.

Dean shook his head. "Nope," he said subbornly. "I've already ordered it, paid for it, and had them wrap it so that you couldn't open it. I knew that you were going to try and get me to tell you." He flashed her wide grin. He knew that Jackie was going to wait to see it because she was impatient so he had to get her gift before he said anything about getting her something. "So you can be as irritating as you want to be, I'm not going to tell you what it is."

"Dean," Jackie said, drawing his name out. "That's not fair. You know I'm going to go crazy," she tried explaining.
Damn him for knowing her so well. "Can I please have a hint? That will keep me satisfied."

"Jackie," he mocking her. "It is to fair." Dean grinned while he continued to lead them through Hogsmeade. "I know that you're going to go crazy, but that's going to be the fun part. And the only hint that I can give you is that you're going to love it. There, that should keep you satisfied." He kissed the top of her head and gave a light chuckle. This was definitely going to be fun.

"You know what, Dean?" Jackie asked, raising an eyebrow. "Now that we're dating, I feel like I can say this now... you say some very dirty things to me. I used to think you meant all of it so innocently, but now I'm not so sure."
She wondered if he would realize whic part of his comment she meant, and she expected to see him blush because of it.

Dean blushed as she said that he said some dirty things. He couldn't help it. Most of the time Jackie just left herself open to those things. "I can't help it whenever I say stuff like that. Most of the time you're the one that provokes it, because of something you say. And most of it is innocent, you've just got to figure out the differences." The last part he added teasingly.
However, Dean blushed a darker shade this time. He hadn't realized that he did mention something dirty. He replayed what he said over in his mind and then shook his head. "I didn't mean anything dirty by what I had said. See, you're the one taking it out of context. I don't think you're the innocent meaning one."

"Well whichever of us is the one that isn't innocent, I still want to know what my present is. Me loving it doesn't count. I didn't think you'd get me something I hated."
She took his free hand, the one not wrapped around her, and threaded her fingers through his. The reached the book store, and she tugged on his hand slightly. "Might as well, since we're here. I'll look for the Quidditch book."

Dean laughed heartedly. "I'm not going to tell you what it is missy. I don't care how much you nag me about it. I'm not telling you anything about it, other than you're going to love it." He winked at her. "You're just going to have to be patient. You only have a little over a month until you find out, so just hold tight for it little bit."
He let her tug him to the bookstore. "Quidditch book it is."

"A little over a month?!" She repeated. "Dean, do you know how long that is? It's forever away," she complained. She knew he wasn't going to tell her. The boy was like a rock as far as willpower was concerned. But it was still going to bug her.
Inside the bookstore, she pulled away from him, almost immidiately distracted.

Dean just continued to grin as she complained. He wasn't going to cave in and tell her, because he wanted to surprise her. Dean lived to surprise Jackie all the time, and this time she was just going to have to be patient. He knew how much it was going to bug her, and she was going to attempt to get it out of him.
His grin turned into a laugh as she pulled away from him as they entered the bookstore. Of course, he thought about getting Jackie a book for Christmas, and he did, however he had already gotten it before this trip to Hogsmeade. The main gift he was going to give her was going to be given when they were alone and no one else around.
Dean watched her for a moment before starting to follow her around in amusement of her becoming distracted.

Jackie barely realized she had pulled away from him when they entered, but when she stopped at a display of Christmas books. She had read most of them; one of her brothers made it a tradition to read a Christmas story with her every year since she was two. Her fingers graced the covers, and she turned to look over her shoulder at Dean.
"Have I mentioned how much I love Christmas?" She smiled again. "And what I love more is you telling me what you got me for Christmas."

"Oh I love Christmas too. It's my favorite time of year," he said, but then he laughed. "Well, I can't do that. That would ruin the surprise, and no I'm not going to tell you and then you could just act surprised when you get it on Christmas." Dean shook his head. Jackie wasn't going to rest until she knew what he was getting her, but Dean wasn't going to tell her, no matter how bad she begged him.
He kissed her cheek. "Sorry love, but you're just going to have to wait."

She pouted, but refrained from giving him the puppy eyes. He was really going to kill her.
She wondered if she could draw it out of him. They were new things she could do to coerce him or convince him into giving in, and it opened up a whole new world of possibilities.
She turned fully and came back to him, standing up to her tiptoes to kiss him while he hands gripped at his shirt to keep her balance.

Dean was looking down at her when she kissed him. He put his arms around her and leaned down a little bit so she didn't have to stretch that far.
After a few moments, he pulled away. "That's going to get it out of me," he said against her lips before kissing her again. Again, he pulled away. "But it was a nice try." Dean gave her a wink and still held her close to him. He had a good sense of willpower, and he was not going to give in telling her so easily.

Jackie grinned almost ferrily. "I know it's not. But I'm not done," she whispered the last part, raising her eyebrows and backing away. "I'll get it out of you, yet," she said, and turned, walking away.
How much power did she really have over him? Did things actually change now that they were... well, dating? She would have to find out.

Not done? What did Jackie have planned in that mind of hers? He looked at her almost confusedly. "Oh really," he questioned. "What do you have in mind?"
When she turned away and walked off, Dean frowned slightly. Although, he could trick her, and tell her one thing he was getting her, but not the one that he was going to keep secret. That would keep her satisfied, because he ordered her two gifts ahead of time and he just had to pick them up today. She wouldn't know, so it would be just fine. Now he just had to see how far she was going to go to try and get it out of him.
Without much trouble, Dean took long strides to catch up with her and followed along beside her.

"I'm not telling," Jackie said, smiling to herself. "You're just going to have to wait and see. See how it feels."
She knew it wouldn't bug him nearly as much as it bugged her, but it made her feel better to have something to hang over his head.
"Where's the Quidditch section?"

He chuckled again. "I can't wait to find out," he replied. Dean winked at her. Now he was itching to find out what that mind of hers was thinking about. He stopped for a moment and looked at where they were.
"It is down the third aisle on the right, all the way at the end," Dean said pointing her in the right direction.

"Seriously?" Jackie asked and turned to look at him. Why on earth had he just told her where they were? Surely he knew he was coming with her anyway? She was going to drag him down the isle with her.
"I think Jake would like the book. I'm going to have to find something else for Andrew, though," he said, trying to think it over. "Any ideas? You're usually pretty good at figuring those two out."

"Seriously," Dean repeated. He took her hand and led her down the aisle to the Quidditch section. "I agree with you on Jake, and I think that Andrew said something before about needing a new cleaning kit for his broom." He gave a little shrug. "I've got to get both of them something. I'm thinking about getting Jake a pair of those goggles from the Quidditch shop. He was talking about a pair of those, and Andrew also talked about needing a new pair of gloves."
