"I wish you wouldn't ever have to let me go," she returned. "But at some point, we'll have classes, or you'll get hungry, or I'll get cold. And then you'll have to let me go."
She wiggled her fingers in his hands and pushed them forward a little, still trying to get to the chocolate, even as he deepened their kiss she tried to distract him and wriggle free.

Dean felt her fingers wiggling, and he smiled against her lips. Jackie didn't give up easily, and he knew that much. She was trying to distract him, and she was pretty good at distracting him, but this time Dean made sure that he was paying attention.
He pulled away from Jackie, with his smile playing on his face. "You know, you do taste better than the chocolate itself."

"I better," Jackie told him, trying to kiss him again so that she could get to that chocolate. After 6 years, shouldn't this be weird to them?
She laughed and pulled away. "We're so dense. you know that, right?"

"Oh, so says the girl who I gave specific hints to and still didn't get it," Dean said teasingly. He started to laugh. "Well, that's what happens I suppose." He gave her a wink and released one of her hands so he could stratch his back.
Dean reached behind him afterwards and pulled out the bag of chocolates. "Why are you so eager to get this?"

"Well you tell me everything," she said in hr defense. "How was I supposed to know that you weren't actually talking about another girl?"
Her hand came out from behind him, and she pouted slightly. "Because I'm a girl. Because we die if we don't eat chocolate. And because you don't want me to have them. Big Red Button syndrome, you know."

"Jackie. Come on, what other girl makes me do things? If it was someone in Ravenclaw, I would have told you! Like you said, I tell you everything although I wasn't about to tell you that I liked you right out." Dean shook his head.
"Big Red Button syndrome?" He looked at her amusedly. Dean opened the bag of chocolates. "Here, take two. I don't want you to die on me." He smiled as he handed her two, then sat the bag next to them. Dean leaned back against the back of the couch. "Happy?"

"Extremely," she said, grinning and taking three just because he said two. She followed the rules when she needed to, but she didn't especially like being told what to do.
"Big Red Button syndrome... you tell somone not to push it and you know they're going to. Anyway, I don't know. Maybe you would have figured out that I'd be jealous and not have told me? I'm a girl, I can come up with a million different theories about it," she explained, popping a chocolate into her mouth and smiling innocently.

"Evidently I must tell you to do what I don't think you should do, but then again it would be my luck that you end up doing it anyway." Dean shook his head. "But apparently, I made you jealous of yourself, but I didn't mean to. Besides, why would I try and make you jealous? I wanted you to figure out that I was talking about you. I didn't want you to be jealous. I am sorry about that part though."
He grinned at her. "Don't even try to pull that innocent smile with me. I know better."

Jackie kept the innocent smile, but shook her head. "You shouldn't tell me to do anything, Dean. You know as well as anyone how I don't listen well."
She popped the second chocolate in her mouth and ate it. "Share the last one?" She asked, hesitating to eat it. "And in case you didn't notice, you still have my other hand. But I could tickle you like this."
She could try. He never seemed to be ticklish for her, but that never stopped her.

"If you insist on having your other hand back," he said letting it go and putting his hands behind his head, "there you go. And no tickling. I didn't tickle you today." Dean was only ticklish in one spot. That one spot was on his hip. "But then again, the day is not over with, and there is always time for something." He gave her a wicked playful grin. He was just teasing her. "And I'll share if you're willing to." Dean pulled a chocolate out of his pocket and held it up for her to see it. "Or we can save mine for later, and share yours now."

Jackie smiled, putting both her hands on Dean's chest lightly. "Be nice to me, and I won't tickle you," she said, nodding. "And don't tickle me or we won't be sharing any more chocolate. Ever."
She started to unwrap her own, then, her hands still using him to give her balance. "We could indulg and share both."

"I am being nice," he said. "And how am I going to tickle you? One of my hands are behind my head, and in the other one is a chocolate." Dean grinned playfully.
He moved his other hand so that he could unwrap his own chocolate and put it into his mouth with the same grin on his face and placed both hands behind his head. "I think both will be just fine," he replied with the chocolate in his mouth.

And that was Dean, perfectly summed up in that one moment. Jackie was a ball of energy, a girl who, no matter how much she denied it, craved attention with an attitude that said, 'indulge me.'
And Dean was a quiet, solid place where she could reign herself in. He indulged her, protected her, paid attention to her.
She placed the chocolate on her tongue, that innocent smile turning slightly impish as she moved her lips close to his, but didn't connect them quite yet.

Dean chuckled as Jackie started to lean forward. He didn't move for a moment because at first, he thought that she was going to go all the way to him.
He moved his hands from behind his head, but still remained leaning back against the back of the couch, and put them around her. Dean gave her another smile. "Come here you," he whispered with playfulness in his voice. He leaned forward slightly to finish making the connection of their lips.

Jackie didn't argue, letting him pull her the rest of the way to him and pressing their lips together. She kept her lips closed for a moment, though, until she felt the chocolate melting and knew she would lose her oppertunity if she waited much longer.
When they pulled apart, she was quiet, but smiling, before raised her eyebrows and said, "You know, Dean, people are going to start to notice that we keep sneaking away from school wide events. Hogsmeade, the first task..."

"Well, it's not my fault we ended up sneaking away during the first task. If I remember correctly, it was you that pulled me away and then wanted to go through the idea of jumping off the Astronomy Tower," Dean said teasingly. "Plus, it also wasn't my fault that we ended up sneaking off from Hogsmeade. You became a little too impatient to have me off somewhere alone." He gave her a playful wink. "And let them notice. It's not that we're stopping anything from happening with them."

"I think they all know, anyway," Jackie said. It was no secret that they were best friends, at any rate. "You know, if I had a galleon for everytime someone asked me if we were going out, I would be one very wealthy girl."
She moved off of his lap and settled in next to him, wrapping his arm around her shoulders and resting her head on his own shoulder. "The Astronomy tower was your idea, by the way."

"Well, you can finally tell them that we are," Dean said with a laugh. "And by the way, I was actually just teasing when I said something about jumping off the Astronomy building. It was your idea to actually go through with it." He carefully moved his arm a little bit so that he wouldn't get a cramp in it.
"I think that I'll keep my crazy ideas like that to myself from now on. I don't want you to start blaming me if a professor catches you."

"You should know me well enough by now to know that you mention something like that, I'm gonna do it, Dean," Jackie said, and she was completely serious. "My brother dared me to eat one of those poisonous toads when I was 8. I *knew* it was a bad idea, but he dared me. You gave me the idea of jumping off the tower. I'm really just an instrument for other people's imaginations. I'm someone they can live vicariously through."

"Exactly! That's why I'm going to keep the extremely crazy ones to myself, while if I think of some that are not as insane, I might let you in on it." Dean gently squeezed her to him for a second.
"And apparently I have been living somewhat vicariously, that is until you make me do whatever with you. But, I have to say that I've always enjoyed it, even if I see the ground coming at me really fast and know that I have the chance of just going splat."
