"You're family are muggles.. and you were raised by muggles?" Tanya gave her most disapproving frown at Timothy, she saw right through him. Of course she did, she already knew the answers they didn't but she was enjoying the misery on Tim's face. However she was turned enough that Katarina wouldn't see her expression.

Kat blinked once as she realized the words that just exited her mouth. Oops.
Kat put on a mask of confusion across her face. "Isn't that what I said?" she asked, her voice never faltering. "No, oh, well, that's what I meant," she said as if it was obvious to everyone at the table what she truely meant.
She should have been an actress, Kat thought to herself as the story rolled off her tounge. When all the adults drew their eyes away from Kat, she caught Tim's eye and mounthed "sorry," toward him.
They should have practiced this...

"Well that is interesting considering I know your parents, Katarina. I don't think they'd agree with your little story. Perhaps next time the truth would be more suited to you." She sat and just waited for the reactions to roll in. She was enjoying this immensely, she didn't say another word and gave Kara and Ken a look that said not to spoil it yet.

Kat was then very thankful that they hadn't ordered anything to drink, because after hering what Ms. Scotts had just said, she probably would have spit the drink out of her mouth all over Mrs. Webb. She simply stared at the woman to her right, dumbfounded. Then Kat looked over Ms. Scotts' shoulder to Tim, a blank look on her face.

Nearly feinting at the words that came from his aunt, Tim just stared open mouthed and wide eyed at her. "H...H..How could you?! I made the story about her parents up auntie! Okay there it is, I have feelings for Kat and she's muggle born....so how about that?!" He had started to become angry now, his aunt was acting quite smug thinking she knew that Kat's parents were poor pure blood wizards.

"No, Timothy. I mean I know them.. personally. I know things, even she doesn't know. Her parents, not her aunt and uncle. And Timothy you have no idea about her true family so hush, dear. And I know you made it up, though I'm sure you're going to regret lying to me later." It was a promise, as much as she loved her nephew she also believed in discipline more than her weak hearted brother. She still waited, this was entirely too enjoyable.

"You haven't met me until today," Kat said, her brain still swimming. "How would you know if you knew my parents? It's not like you could use my last name, i adopted my aunt and uncle's name." She didn't mean to sound disrespectful, but Kat wasn't sure if she liked where this convorsation was going. "So I'm sorry, but you must be misinformed..."

"Katarina, there is something you should know. First it's no mistake. When Timothy told me your name, I heard your same name mentioned from your parents as well as your aunt's name, who happens to be a squib not a muggle. I happen to know your parents extremely well. It's no mistake. As a matter of fact, I sent Timothy that owl for a reason to meet you." She gave a very long pause for any reactions before continuing, "Katarina Webb I'd like you to meet your parents." She leaned back in her chair and her eyes twinkled.

Kenneth sat through Tanya's little mentally abusive charade, his heart pounding faster with every word. Gripping Kara's hand as tightly as he dared without causing her pain. As it came close to time for the unveiling of Kat's parents, he opened his mouth to speak as Tanya spilled the secret. If looks could kill, Tanya would be dead three times over with the glare that Ken gave her. Realizing he should be saying something to Kat, his anger was quickly replaced by nervousness and fear. "Hi Katarina, i'm your father...." He stared deeply into his daughter's beautiful eyes, feelings of hopelessness quickly overwhelmed him as his fear of her hatred began to take over.

Kara had been nerves but was glad the moment was past, but her eyes were never taken off of Kat's. "Katarina, we asked Tanya to help us find you... I've waited for this moment for sixteen years, and I know this has to be a shock but... your aunt is my sister. I'm... I'm your mother Katarina."

Kat's head was swimming around anxiously. She wasn't entirely sure what was going on until Ms. Scotts dropped the ball on her. Then everything sort of froze in place. She stared at the sugar jar on the table, just blinking until she heard her name.
This asn't how she imagined it, meeting her parents for the first time. Yes, she imagined a hundred different senarios, with a hundred different responces, but none of them fit the true moment that was going on now.
Katarina didn't know what to do.

Timothy jumped out of his chair as Tanya unleashed her news. Looking over at the Webbs, two people he thought were kind and caring and nearly said some very rude things. Regaining his willpower he looked over at Kat, pushing his aunt's chair back a little, he wrapped his arms around Kat, helping her out of her chair. "..Excuse us.." Hurrying outside the coffee shop, he turned the corner and hugged Kat tightly. "Take your time, kitty Kat. We'll go back in when your rdy." Placing a gentle kiss on her forehead, he resumed hugging her close.

Kat was still staring blankly at the sugar, occasionally looking up between the Webbs to her left and the Scotts to her right, before turning back to the table. Next thing she knew, Tim was helping her out of her seat and escorting her outside. The chilly air snapped her back to a little bit of reality and Tim held on to her tight and kissed her forhead. She squeezed him back and burried her face in his chest. She was not prepared for this at all.

As Kat buried her face in his chest, he slowly combed his hand through her golden hair. "I'm so sorry, Kat. That was rude of them and....and parents?! By merlin's beard sweetheart...." The Webb's being Kat's parents filled Tim with a swirling hurricane of emotions. The Webbs were not only a wealthy pure blood couple, they were good friends with his family. There's no way his family would not approve of them being together now, yet there was anger at their inappropriate timing and causing Kat such pain.

Kat took a few deep breaths, taking in the cold air and a faint scent that was so very Tim before she stood a bit more and looked him in the eyes. "You're aunt sure knows how to make a first impression Timmy."

"I know Kat....i'm sorry, sometimes she can be a bit evil.." He sighed, he had hoped his aunt would come through for him this one time but of course her evil nature shined through as always. Looking deeply into her eyes, he smiled at how lovely she looked even though she was sad. "Forget my aunt though kitty Kat, your parents?! You have parents Kat..."

"Yea, I do..." It hadn't really sunk in yet, that the man and woman she had been sitting near were her parents. She took another deep breath, letting it sink in a little more before looking up at Tim with a smile on her face. She jumpped up into Tim's arms and smiled. "I have parents!"

Laughing as Kat jumped into his arms he swung her around and then placed her back on the ground. Placing another gentle kiss on her forehead, he smiled at her. "Come on kitty Kat, how about we go back in there and meet them. They're really nice people.." Winking at Kat he motioned her to follow as he walked back into the coffee shop and stood by the table they were at.

She followed Tim back into the coffee shop, right on his heals. When they got to the table they were at, Kat slipped her hand in Tim's. "Don't let go, okay?" she whispered in Tim's ear. With her other hand, she reached for Tim's chair and moved it next to her's before sitting down. "Sorry about that," Kat said quietly.

Tanya slid her chair over to give the kids more room when they returned. She'd had her little fun but now she was truely happy for Timothy, and she smiled warmly for once and winked at her nephew. Now it was her turn to be silent though. Her next involvement would truely be with talking to Thatcher and Alicia about arranging a marriage between the families, but that would wait until later. For now she was genuinely happy to see her nephew off the hook by dating a pureblood, as well as for her friends Kenneth and Kara for finding their daughter. She wasn't completely heartless after all.
