Eve sighed and let her mind wander she wasn't really asleep yet she was simply reveling in the closeness of his frame against hers, the way their legs were tangled, the way he was holding her. It was nothing short of beautiful to her. She kissed the spot on his chest unthinkingly above his heart, for now for however short it was she knew she belonged there as a friend if nothing more.

Even through his shirt, he felt her kiss his chest. It was a burning sensation that felt like was burning his skin. Strangely, it felt good, and a smile came to his face.
Josh waited until he thought Eve had gone to sleep while he continued to stroke her hair. "I love you Eve Mallory," he whispered and kissed the top of her head before snuggling as close as he could, and he didn't move his legs. They were comfortable there and he started to close his eyes.
